Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Talks 'Rundown 2'

While talking with Latino Review about his newest action flick 'Faster', Dwayne Johnson had the following to say about working with Pete Berg again and the possibility of doing 'Rundown 2' with him:

"He's my buddy man. I love Peter. I would love to. It's interesting because we essentially started our careers at the same time. He had that one Vegas movie...

"I was doing Scorpion King. And we started our careers at around the same time. And you go apart after The Rundown. And I wanted to work in other genres, become a better actor. And he wanted to work in other genres, become a better director. So coming back and working with Peter Berg would be awesome. I would love to. Whether it's another Rundown or anything else. We're constantly looking for something to do together."

I'm sure Dwayne's fans everywhere are happy just to see him out of the pink tights and back in the action genre he started his acting career off with, but who wouldn't mind seeing him in  'Rundown 2'. I'm sure its not likely we'll actually see a sequel to Rundown, but I don't doubt that we'll see him and Berg teaming up again in the future. As for going their separate ways to become a better Actor and Director, I have to laugh, sure Berg has progressed as a director doing such big hits as "Hancock" with mega star Will Smith, but has The Rock really become that much better of an actor for throwing on the tights? No, not really, I guess he's lucky we don't care, I don't know anyone that's actually excited to see his next picture "Faster" based on his growth as an actor and great his performance, his fans myself included can't wait to see him kick some ass again!

Faster opens in theaters November 19 2010, as for "Rundown 2" I won't count it out yet, but I'm not expecting anything anytime soon.

    Transformers 3 Casting Call

Do you enjoy craptacular movies? (yes I made that word up it suited the situation best) How would you like to be in one? Well now is your chance,  Acting Auditions has a casting call for a pre-vis sequence in Transformers 3 filming next week. Basically you'd be at an industrial property posing for Ukraine. In Gary, Indiana of all places.

The casting call revealed the length of the shoot to be from May 17 to July 1. A very short time frame, Michael Bay doesn't waste time when making crap, if he were to take his time who knows he may have to involve some sort of story in the movie, don't worry, this is not the case here, I assure we'll get a lot of giant alien robots blowing shit up and kicking ass for no apparent reason.

    Transformers 3 opens July 1 2011.

New Clip From "Toy Story 3"

A new clip has been released from Toy Story 3. The clip features the gang being taken on a "dream tour" around the daycare by Ken.

After 11 years since the last movie in the franchise, Toy Story 3 hits 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on June 18. It'll be interesting to see what the boxoffice turn out is after such a long absence from the big screen. The previous two installments earned $846 million collectively in their original run in theaters.

    Jay Baruchel "Was" Maxwell Lord...

Do you remember Warner Bros on again off again plans for the Live Action "Justice League" movie, Well at a point when it was "on again" according to Teresa Palmer via an interview with MTV Jay Baruchel was attatched to play Maxwell Lord and  Palmer was apparently set to play Talia Al Ghul, she said she'd still like to play the role at some point.

The more I here from this project, new news or old, I'm glad it was put into development hell. Now  lets just hope it stays there. Doe's anyone really "want" to see an Armie hammer Batman? I know I don't, thats not to say I'm not open to interpretations other then Nolan/ Bales TDK Batman, but I do hope Warner Bros takes a little more time with the casting when they eventually get around to the inevitable 'Justice League' movie which we know is coming, With Marvel kicking DC's ass in Big Screen adaptions and Avengers on its way, they'll have to do something...

For anyone who cares about whats going on with the next istallment in the RIddick franchise the following story comes from comingsoon

Vin Diesel has posted the first concept art from 2009 by Patrick Tatopoulos that's for the third Riddick film written and to be directed, once again, by David Twohy. Diesel writes:

Early Riddick concept art... first frame of a 2D Motion Choreography Study.

    Grrrr...

    The Furian... left for dead...

The third film in the series features Riddick -- the most wanted man in the galaxy -- left for dead on a barren alien planet, dealing with "trisons" (three-legged bisons) and "mud demons." He must then contend with two squads of bounty hunters, one of which ride rockets called jetcycles.

    Tom Arnold Jumps aboard 'Battleship'

Tom Arnold will now hopefuly shut up about True Lies 2, as he's been cast in Peter Berg's 'Battleship' along side Taylor Kitsch (Gambit in Wolverine). no details were revealed as to what part Arnold will play, but his co star Kitsch will be playing a Naval commander named Alex Hopper in the film.

Arnold himself revealed he is part of the cast in a reaction to a Movieline article. "Doing Pete Berg's 'Battleship' in Australia in August," he said.

The script, by Jon and Erich Hoeber, sees an international fleet come together to battle a water-bound armada of otherworldly origin.

I can't really say that I'm that much more excited to see this than Hasbros other big screen adaption of Stretch Armstrong starring Twilight's Taylor Lautner as the lead.

Mark Strong talks Sinestro in Green Lantern

Mark Strong recently talked to USA Weekend about playing Sinestro in the upcoming Green Lantern.

"For anybody who's familiar with the Green Lantern and the origin story, the film closely follows the early comics," Strong said. "Sinestro starts out as Hal Jordan's mentor, slightly suspicious and not sure of him because obviously Hal is the first human being who's made into a Green Lantern. He's certainly very strict and certainly unsure of the wisdom of Hal becoming a Green Lantern."

Strong added that "[Sinestro] is a military guy but isn't immediately bad. It's the kind of person he is that lends himself to becoming bad over the course of the comics being written, but initially he's quite a heroic figure."

The actor said that the costume and other aspects of the character closely follow the character's early days. "That widow's peak and thin mustache was for some reason originally based on David Niven, and Hal Jordan was based on Errol Flynn," said Strong, who recently got fitted for special Sinestro contact lenses.

"In the '30s and '40s, they shared an apartment together in Hollywood when they were making movies and they were great friends. Obviously at the time, whoever was doing the original comics must have looked at them as guys doing very well in the film industry, and based those characters on them. So I would like to do justice to the Sinestro that was conceived for the comic books."

By the sounds of Strongs comments, we'll be seeing more of the "good" Sinestro then the villain, much like what was done with Harvey Dent/ Two Face in The Dark Knight.

    Marc Guggenheim talks 'Green Lantern'

Marc Guggenheim spoke to Geoff Boucher with LA Times Hero Complex Blog about his new tv series  "No Ordinary Family".

Although he couldn't say much, he had the following to say about the Ryan Reynolds starring GREEN LANTERN film : "I can only speak for the tone of the script because the tone of the film is really the province of the director and they've only just started production. However, our goal from the outset was to write a movie that was extremely faithful to the comic book and that includes the tone. In other words, it's not broadly comedic or silly. Nor is it overly dark. It's very much in keeping with the spirit of the character."

Green Lantern opens June 17, 2011
