New Superman Figure Looks Nothing Like Henry Cavill - Cool Nonetheless

Courtesy of DC Collectables, you too have this big statue/figure of the new Man of Steel for $130. I was going to get my nephew a Superman action figure in juncture with The Man of Steel this June. I'll have to go with something that won't bleed my wallet.

Don't judge me! I'm working on a budget!

Tina Fey, Amy Poehler,Tommy Lee Jones & Glenn Close Win At Golden Globes

I was either the one of many or one of the few who watched The Golden Globes last night. We'll find out when the ratings drop. To me, it was the most entertaining installments of "The Globes" in the last couple years. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey wiped out any nightmares people were still having about two-time former host Ricky Gervais. They were fun and refreshing rather than half asleep and grumpy.

Amy Poehler On Zero Dark Thirty: "I haven't paid much attention, but when it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron."

Tina Fey On Anne Hathaway: "Anne Hathaway is here for her performance in 'Les Misérables, I had not seen anyone as alone and abandoned since you were on stage with James Franco at the Oscars."

Amy Poehler On Meryl Streep: "Meryl Streep is not here tonight. She has the flu — and I hear she’s amazing in it."

The two most viral of the night's antics belonged to Tommy Lee Jones & Glenn Close.

Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell were engaging in a rather odd but mildly amusing skit while presenting the nominees for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical; acting as if they had no idea what the films were about. Needless to say, Tommy Lee Jones was not amused. When the camera cut to him for his reaction Meryl Streep's absence while nominated for their film Hope Springs, he was attempting to vaporize Will Ferrell with his eyes.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, like many awards show hosts, were picking apart almost everybody in the room last night. Glenn Close really went out of her way to embrace it more than most though. While the duo threw out a Glenn Close is drunk reference, the actress nominated for her roll in Damages gave her finest performance yet.

"A Good Day To Die Hard" Goes Back To It's R-Rated Roots

Nothing is better than Bruce Willis being allowed to go fliphouse with an R rating behind him, well of course Cop Out being the exception. That's why I was a that ComingSoon.Net scooped A Good Day To Die Hard will feature an R rating. This will be a return to the letter R for the franchise, unlike the first three installments before it Live Free Or Die Hard was rated PG-13.

Iconoclastic, take-no-prisoners cop John McClane, for the first time, finds himself on foreign soil after traveling to Moscow to help his wayward son Jack–unaware that Jack is really a highly-trained CIA operative out to stop a nuclear weapons heist. With the Russian underworld in pursuit, and battling a countdown to war, the two McClanes discover that their opposing methods make them unstoppable heroes.

Jeff Nathanson Penning "Pirates of the Caribbean 5"

It looks like Disney has decided to print even more money. It isn't enough for The House Of Mouse that they have their hand in The Avengers and Star Wars cookie jar, they are planning on yet another installment of Pirates Of The Caribbean 5. The studio has hired Jeff Nathanson to write the script with Jerry Jerry Bruckheimer set to produce and Johnny Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow.

The last installment, Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides grossed over $1 Billion worldwide but just $241 million domestic, the least domestically out of the four films. It shows the North American audiences are growing a bit tired of Jack Sparrow and the pirates universe.

Makes you wonder what happened to the Terry Rossio script that was turned into Disney in May of 2011. Is Nathanson starting from scratch or is he using the Rossio draft as a foundation?

Jurassic Park 4 Is For Real; Roaring into Theaters June 2014

Jurassic Park 4 was never not going to get made. If it was up to Universal, we'd be at an even 10 films. Only a matter of when Amblin would approve something (Been plenty of scripts over the years) and enough time has passed since 1993, the nostalgia bug can bite. I was nine year olds when the original Steven Spielberg adventure opened (65 million years in the making!) I'll have just hit age thirty by the time 4 drops. Give me a minute. Gotta let that settle in.

Universal announced this afternoon, June 13, 2014 is the destination for Jurassic Park 4 with Spielberg producing only (Won't stop the rumor-mills or hit-whores) from a script by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (They penned Rise of the Apes).

That's precious, little time to get this ready but no worries, it'll make the date. And due to that release, that throws out lots of great, oddball choices to direct - always fancied Eli Roth for no explainable reason. They'll hire a shooter who can turn this around by summer.

Kick Off Party For Edward Burns Produced "Turk: The Movie"

Any hockey fan who is worth their salt knows who Derek Sanderson is. Nicknamed "The Turk", the former Boston Bruin made just as much of an impact on the ice as he did off of it. Apparently Hollyweird has taken notice of what could be a solid sports tale, especially interesting if you're from the Boston area and a die-hard Bruins fan like myself.

In November it was reported that Ed Burns (The Brothers McMullen) would produce & Doug Atchinson (Akeelah And The Bee) would be behind the lense. The script has been rewritten by Doug Atchinson from an earlier draft by Chris Pappa. The film will reportedly document the fall of Sanderson and how hockey great Bobby Orr helped the troubled athlete get his life back.

The kick off party for the film just recently took place at Boston's W Hotel and both Derek Sanderson & Bobby Orr were in attendance. Pictured above with Bruins fan Aaron Dynes and Gal Time's Andrea Krivelow.

No Affleck or Bigelow Love & Lincoln Like a Pimp - 2013 Oscar Nominations

Gasps heard round the interwebs at the Oscar nominations this morning.

Argo, expected to be a major contender (In the interest of full disclosure, my favorite film of 2012 and had it pegged to take home big wins next month), shockingly locked out in the "Best Director" category for Ben Affleck. Ditto longtime shoe-in Kathryn Bigelow for Zero Dark Thirty while their acclaimed, political thrillers still scored "Best Picture" nods.

Lincoln led the pack (12 nods) followed by Life of Pi (11) and Silver Linings Playbook with surprise strength from critical darlings Armour and Beasts of the Southern Wild. Christopher Nolan Going "Interstellar" For His Latest

Christopher Nolan is good at being mum. He is constantly being asked about his next project and never fails at being coy with his usual, "I only think about one film at a time" answer. But with the cape-and-cowl saga hung up for good, we're in a unique stage for the helmer. No telling what he's going to do (Besides it co-starring Michael Caine) and the rumor-mills in overdrive ever since we saw Alfred and Bruce Wayne warmly smiling back at each other and John Blake "rising" and everyone asking, "Now what, Chris?"

He's marked Interstellar as his next project. The same project penned by brother Jonathan Nolan years back for Steven Spielberg to direct. But that was years back and as we've seen, just by this evening, Spielberg has no problem developing a project and eventually letting someone else pick it up.

It has all the good trimmings we've come to love from Nolan; heady, existential science-fiction this time involving wormholes and time-travel. That'll do, Chris. That'll do.

The Robots Won – Spielberg Delays Robopocalypse "Indefinitely"

He can still direct spectacle as well as the generation of filmmakers he's influenced. But Robopocalypse always felt like Steven Spielberg going through the motions. A "one for them" picture if you will.

The title alone was a killer and I never felt the passion Spielberg eluded when he talks up his latest. Returning to sci-fi/action because it was expected of him, and from his investors. I, for one, don't want a passionless Spielberg calling action - no matter the genre.

For the moment, that won't be a concern as the plug's been pulled from Robopocalypse indefinitely. Spielberg's spokesman revealed to The Hollywood Reporter it's "too important and the script is not ready, and it's too expensive to produce. It's back to the drawing board to see what is possible."

Spielberg did this on Munich and Lincoln too and look how great those turned out. Question is will this meet a similar fate? He insists he's still going to make it (The timing of the announcement the evening before the Oscar nominations is interesting too), but this feels like something he'll quietly walk from.
