Tina Fey, Amy Poehler,Tommy Lee Jones & Glenn Close Win At Golden Globes

I was either the one of many or one of the few who watched The Golden Globes last night. We'll find out when the ratings drop. To me, it was the most entertaining installments of "The Globes" in the last couple years. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey wiped out any nightmares people were still having about two-time former host Ricky Gervais. They were fun and refreshing rather than half asleep and grumpy.
Amy Poehler On Zero Dark Thirty: "I haven't paid much attention, but when it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron."
Tina Fey On Anne Hathaway: "Anne Hathaway is here for her performance in 'Les Misérables, I had not seen anyone as alone and abandoned since you were on stage with James Franco at the Oscars."
Amy Poehler On Meryl Streep: "Meryl Streep is not here tonight. She has the flu — and I hear she’s amazing in it."
The two most viral of the night's antics belonged to Tommy Lee Jones & Glenn Close.
Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell were engaging in a rather odd but mildly amusing skit while presenting the nominees for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical; acting as if they had no idea what the films were about. Needless to say, Tommy Lee Jones was not amused. When the camera cut to him for his reaction Meryl Streep's absence while nominated for their film Hope Springs, he was attempting to vaporize Will Ferrell with his eyes.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, like many awards show hosts, were picking apart almost everybody in the room last night. Glenn Close really went out of her way to embrace it more than most though. While the duo threw out a Glenn Close is drunk reference, the actress nominated for her roll in Damages gave her finest performance yet.
