Kick Off Party For Edward Burns Produced "Turk: The Movie"

Any hockey fan who is worth their salt knows who Derek Sanderson is. Nicknamed "The Turk", the former Boston Bruin made just as much of an impact on the ice as he did off of it. Apparently Hollyweird has taken notice of what could be a solid sports tale, especially interesting if you're from the Boston area and a die-hard Bruins fan like myself.
In November it was reported that Ed Burns (The Brothers McMullen) would produce & Doug Atchinson (Akeelah And The Bee) would be behind the lense. The script has been rewritten by Doug Atchinson from an earlier draft by Chris Pappa. The film will reportedly document the fall of Sanderson and how hockey great Bobby Orr helped the troubled athlete get his life back.
The kick off party for the film just recently took place at Boston's W Hotel and both Derek Sanderson & Bobby Orr were in attendance. Pictured above with Bruins fan Aaron Dynes and Gal Time's Andrea Krivelow.
