"New Hanzel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" Stills

Head to ComingSoon.Net and enjoy the Hanzel & Gretel: Witch Hunters Gallery for all of the photos.

Catching up with Hansel (Renner) and Gretel (Arterton) 15 years after the traumatic incident involving a gingerbread house, the siblings have evolved into vengeful bounty hunters dedicated to exterminating witches. Over the years, the siblings became expert hunters, famous for their proficiency at tracking and taking down their prey. Although still recovering from their ordeal, their work is relatively easy as for an unknown reason harmful spells and curses do not work well against them.

The Mayor of Augsburg recruits them to rid the town and nearby forests of an evil sorceress (Janssen) who is planning to sacrifice many local children at the witches’ gathering during the upcoming ‘Blood Moon’ night in two days time. To make things worse, the duo also has to deal with the brutal Sheriff Berringer (Stormare) who has taken power in Augsburg and conducts a very indiscriminate witch-hunt of his own.

Opinion: Writers Hired for 'Terminator 5'

You've probably heard by now that Terminator franchise rights holder Megan Ellison (and her production company, Annapurna Pictures, alongside her brother David's own company, Skydance Productions) has brought on Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier to write the screenplay for the tentatively titled Terminator 5.

Many Terminator fans were quick to call this annoucement bad news as Lussier is most notably known for writing and directing My Blood Valentine 3D and Kalogridis' best work coming in the form of doing some writing and producing work on Avatar (James Cameron connection there).

While it's easy to judge a book by its cover and assume this is already going in the wrong direction, don't be so quick to make that assumption.  You don't know what idea the makers behind this new film have in mind, not to mention many talented filmmakers in Hollywood have their share of bad projects when first getting started (Cameron himself with Piranha 2, the first half of Ben Affleck's career).

I would also be sure to take note that typically with these big budget films, initial writers are brought on to work on an outline and get the action pieces on paper, followed by a more 'textured' and 'complex' writer to clean it up (most notably James Bond's Casino Royale and Skyfall which had Paul Haggis and John Logan, respectively, take a final run through on those scripts and look how they turned out).

Ultimately, what I'm saying is to be so quick to jump ship on a vessel that barely left the peir (unless those writers are named John Brancato and Michael Ferris or the ship is called Titanic).

Terminator 5 Has Writers, No Arnold

Megan Ellison and her Annapurna Pictures outspent everyone else in showbiz for the Terminator rights. With that kind of dough, they're serious about (re)reviving the T-800.

First step: secure Arnold Schwarzenegger.

They stupidly haven't done this and according to Arnold he hasn't been approached. All power to them but if you don't have Arnold back, you have no viable Terminator. Lest we forget how Salvation turned out. They thought replacing him with Christian Bale was acceptable. Sure, Bale's great and everyone loves him as Batman. But he's not Arnold.

The baby-steps they've taken instead are hiring writers: Laeta Kalogridis (Shutter Island) and Patrick Lussier (Dracula 2000). Normally apprehending the writers first is wise, but Terminator is so synched with its Austrian star anything before locking him down first is foolish. Any quasi-competent writer can work around him as long as they know they have him.

Lego "Man Of Steel" Trailer

I remember a group of clever Lego lovers created a Lego version of the Superman Returns teaser way back in 2005. Was pretty impressed, but just like anything else, the technology has gotten better and better for these Lego led trailers. Below is the latest for the Man Of Steel trailer that came out in mid December.

"Spring Breakers" International Trailer

Spring Breakers tells the story of four sexy college girls as they plan to fund their spring break getaway by burglarizing a fast food shack. But that's only the beginning... At a motel room rager, fun reaches its legal limit and the girls are arrested and taken to jail. Hungover and clad only in bikinis, the girls appear before a judge but are bailed out unexpectedly by Alien (James Franco), an infamous local thug who takes them under his wing and leads them on the wildest Spring Break trip in history. Rough on the outside but with a soft spot inside, Alien wins over the hearts of the young Spring Breakers, and leads them on a Spring Break they never could have imagined.

Spring Breakers Trailer

"I have a really, really bad feeling about this."

Selena Gomez and I see eye to eye here. The trailer for Spring Breakers, the latest from writer/director Harmony Korine, feels tonally all over the place. And what is up with James Franco?
