Movie Moan: Kingdom Of Heaven, Summer Of Disappointment

We honestly don't know what the hell happened this summer folks.  'Dark Shadows' was a mess.  'Men In Black III' was passable.  'G.I.Joe: Retaliation' didn't stay around long enough to be a let down.  'Battleship' was.......well, 'Battleship'.

Now we are forced to tell you how two of our most highly anticipated blockbusters this season just aren't probably more of a disappointment than any of the above.

Sigh, let's get this over with:

9:05 mins - Kristina, Jamie & Phil review 'Snow White & The Huntsman'; not the passable summer entertainment that some would have you believe but a complete and utter failure of a film.

47:45 mins - Phil calls a week into the future to tell you, with regret, that 'Prometheus' isn't that good (spoiler free of course).

60:40 mins - Phil then reminds us that Ridley Scott still has it with his latest summer blockbuster choice of old; 'Kingdom Of Heaven' (2005) - the director's cut of course.

    Movie Moan: Retaliation

I was probably saving this title for the episode where we reviewed the much anticipated G.I.Joe sequel but since that has been taken away from us, we'll use it now. It's an appropriate title as the Movie Moan crew rip the dunderheads at Paramount a new one for the most ill-timed release date switcheroo in cinema history.

But on the positive side, the Bond trailer rocks, MIB3 wasn't that bad, and we are delighted to confirm Shawn Robbins of BoxOffice.com as an official regular member of the team:

5:20 mins - Shawn, Jamie & Phil review 'Men In Black 3' - a 'not bad at all/actually quite watchable' shock of a film.

34 mins - We examine all the hows, whys and lies of the change in release date for 'G.I.Joe: Retaliation'and Paramount's officially stated reasoning behind it. Phil thinks they have made a dreadful mistake, Jamie doesn't understand it, and Shawn thinks they might actually be telling the truth.

49:30 mins - Join us as we marvel at the widescreen epic beauty of the teaser trailer for 'Skyfall'.

62 mins - Kristina chooses her first summer blockbuster of old to gush over; 'Jurassic Park (1993)'.

Movie Moan - Justin & His Amazing Friends: The Quest For Peace

Shawn Lives. Justin Returns. Peter Flies By. Kristina is.......the err.......man of stee......no, it doesn't stretch that far. Never mind.

But we are proud to present a special edition of Movie Moan that has been in the works for some time. While everyone in movie theatres goes Marvel crazy, it's about time we looked to the future of DC on film and the hopes that rest with Zack Snyder's Superman relaunch 'The Man Of Steel'.

Leading the discussion is webmaster of the legendary 'BlueTights.net' (host of the Superman Returns behind the scenes blog videos) Mr. Justin Korthof. Also joining the regular gang of Jamie, Phil and Kristina are new addition to the Movie Moan family Shawn Robbins of BoxOffice.com and the big cheese of ThinkMcFlyThink Peter Georgiou.

4:20 mins - 'The E True Hollywood Story' of how Justin started BlueTights.net (including why it wasn't called BlueTights.com) and a simple Superman fan site became the official home of 'Superman Returns'.

22:40 mins - In the real meaty discussion of the show we cover anything and everything concerning the new Superman movie, our hopes and dreams, our concerns, the risks (and non-risks) being taken, General Zod, and whether this is a solo movie or just a two hour trailer for something bigger on the horizon.

50:05 mins - A world exclusive first look at the teaser trailer for 'Superman: The Man Of Steel'.

51:05 mins - Because the summer never stops, Capt. Ed Hocken joins us to discuss his selected blockbuster of old; 'Independence Day' (1996).

Movie Moan - The One Where Jamie Gets Told To Shut Up

Thought that would get your attention.

It's a Movie Moan reunion this week as our old friends the wise and sage Lou Sytsma and Capt. Ed Hocken return, specifically to take Jamie to task over last week's review of 'The Avengers'.  Phil tries at the start to moderate so everyone can speak in turn but, as it turns out, he'd have better luck catching the wind:

7:50 mins - Jamie and Phil review 'Dark Shadows', the latest 'beautiful mess' from Tim Burton.

27:55 mins - The third and final review of 'The Avengers' as Lou and Ed give their take and head to head with Jamie as he refuses to go with the popular vote.  Things get ugly folks.

47:05 mins - Phil gushes over the latest trailer for 'The Expendables 2' while Jamie asks the question of whether Arnie, with tons of future film projects now fully into production, can seriously get back in the game.

58:20 mins - Jamie's first choice for his look back at a summer blockbuster classic of old - 'Contact' (1997).

Movie Moan - The Merry Marvel Moaning Society

'The Avengers', The Amazing Spider-man' and 'The Dark Knight Rises' - the formidable trifecta of this summer's superhero cinema are all covered in exhausting detail in this special edition of Movie Moan.

And for the special help we need, we are delighted to be joined for the first time by operator of the legendary 'Blue Tights' website (the home of 'Superman Returns' news and Bryan Singer's video blogs), Justin Korthof.  We are also overjoyed to be rejoined by co-host of our 'Summer 2012 Prediction Power Hour', Shawn Robbins from BoxOffice.com.

Even I think this is one of our best shows folks.  Don't miss it!

4:20 mins - If you think everybody loves 'The Avengers' then think again.  Jamie Williams isn't everybody and he can't wait to tell you how history will end up judging the comic book movie to end all comic book movies.  And the rest of the gang can't wait to join in either for a totally exhaustive spoiler filled discussion.

50:15 mins - The final trailer for 'The Dark Knight Rises' gets a passionate analysis (especially from Justin) on what we're being shown, but more importantly, what we're not being shown.

70:20 mins - Don't run away folks but we do want to talk about the final trailer for 'The Amazing Spider-man' and Phil has a special message for everyone we've pissed off talking about it.

83:40 mins - The first installment of our new segment as we look back at our personal favourite summer blockbusters of old.  This week, appropriately, Phil chooses 'Dick Tracy' (1990).
