The pit has spoken. MUD is an adventure about two boys, Ellis (Tye Sheridan) and his friend Neckbone (Jacob Lofland), who find a man named Mud (Matthew McConnaughey) hiding out on an island in the Mississippi.  Mud describes fantastic scenarios—he killed a man in Texas and vengeful bounty hunters are coming to get him. He says he is planning to meet and escape with the love of his life, Juniper (Reese Witherspoon), who is waiting for him in town. Skeptical but intrigued, Ellis and Neckbone agree to help him.  It isn’t long until Mud’s visions come true and their small town is besieged by a beautiful girl with a line of bounty hunters in tow.

"The Iceman" Trailer

Inspired by actual events, The Iceman follows notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski (Academy Award® nominee Michael Shannon) from his early days in the mob until his arrest for the murder of more than 100 men. Russell Crowe Talks "Man Of Steel" & Broken City (Care)

Reelz.Com had a five minute plus chat with Russell Crowe. Fresh of his stint in Les Miserables, Crowe was answering questions via satellite about his upcoming flick Broken City (Care), but more importantly also gave some insight into Man Of Steel. Starts at the 3:50 mark .

"It's really complicated...I think Zack Snyder...he was given a great deal of responsibility. It is a massive undertaking...it takes you on the ground to Krypton...it takes you to a planet where the sun is 4 times larger than ours. This Superman is not just floating through the air being held up by a wire, this Superman is SUPERSONIC"

Magnolia Pictures Takes N. American Rights To "Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me"

The Wagner/Cuban Company’s Magnolia Pictures announced today that they have acquired North American rights to BIG STAR: NOTHING CAN HURT ME, the definitive documentary about the beloved and influential 70s rock band Big Star. Directed by Drew DeNicola and Oliva Mori, the film was produced by Mori and Danielle McCarthy, executive-produced by John Fry, founder of Ardent Studios, with Gill Holland and David Armillei, and co-produced by Brian Sprouse.

Founded in Memphis by Chris Bell, and fronted by rock legend Alex Chilton, the original Big Star lineup also featured Jody Stephens and Andy Hummel. Together less than four years, the band flirted with mainstream success but never achieved it. Nonetheless, they produced a body of work of seminal importance to pop and alternative music, influencing major artists like REM, the Replacements, Elliot Smith, the Flaming Lips and countless others.

For die-hard fans and newcomers alike, BIG STAR: NOTHING CAN HURT ME is a treasure, featuring rare music, never-before-seen footage and in-depth interviews with the original band members, family, friends and artists they influenced. Years in the making, the film captures important voices from the Big Star era that have since passed on.

“Drew, Olivia and Danielle have done a terrific job capturing the amazing story of one of the greatest bands of the 1970s, recreating an truly special time and place in music history,” said Magnolia President Eamonn Bowles. “Big Star fans will rejoice.”

"We are thrilled to be partnering with Magnolia, and to join their stellar roster of great films," said director Drew DeNicola.

The deal was negotiated by Magnolia SVP of Acquisitions Dori Begley with Josh Braun of Submarine. Magnolia plans a theatrical release later this year.

Tina Fey, Amy Poehler,Tommy Lee Jones & Glenn Close Win At Golden Globes

I was either the one of many or one of the few who watched The Golden Globes last night. We'll find out when the ratings drop. To me, it was the most entertaining installments of "The Globes" in the last couple years. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey wiped out any nightmares people were still having about two-time former host Ricky Gervais. They were fun and refreshing rather than half asleep and grumpy.

Amy Poehler On Zero Dark Thirty: "I haven't paid much attention, but when it comes to torture, I trust the lady who spent three years married to James Cameron."

Tina Fey On Anne Hathaway: "Anne Hathaway is here for her performance in 'Les Misérables, I had not seen anyone as alone and abandoned since you were on stage with James Franco at the Oscars."

Amy Poehler On Meryl Streep: "Meryl Streep is not here tonight. She has the flu — and I hear she’s amazing in it."

The two most viral of the night's antics belonged to Tommy Lee Jones & Glenn Close.

Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell were engaging in a rather odd but mildly amusing skit while presenting the nominees for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical; acting as if they had no idea what the films were about. Needless to say, Tommy Lee Jones was not amused. When the camera cut to him for his reaction Meryl Streep's absence while nominated for their film Hope Springs, he was attempting to vaporize Will Ferrell with his eyes.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, like many awards show hosts, were picking apart almost everybody in the room last night. Glenn Close really went out of her way to embrace it more than most though. While the duo threw out a Glenn Close is drunk reference, the actress nominated for her roll in Damages gave her finest performance yet.

"A Good Day To Die Hard" Goes Back To It's R-Rated Roots

Nothing is better than Bruce Willis being allowed to go fliphouse with an R rating behind him, well of course Cop Out being the exception. That's why I was a that ComingSoon.Net scooped A Good Day To Die Hard will feature an R rating. This will be a return to the letter R for the franchise, unlike the first three installments before it Live Free Or Die Hard was rated PG-13.

Iconoclastic, take-no-prisoners cop John McClane, for the first time, finds himself on foreign soil after traveling to Moscow to help his wayward son Jack–unaware that Jack is really a highly-trained CIA operative out to stop a nuclear weapons heist. With the Russian underworld in pursuit, and battling a countdown to war, the two McClanes discover that their opposing methods make them unstoppable heroes.

Jeff Nathanson Penning "Pirates of the Caribbean 5"

It looks like Disney has decided to print even more money. It isn't enough for The House Of Mouse that they have their hand in The Avengers and Star Wars cookie jar, they are planning on yet another installment of Pirates Of The Caribbean 5. The studio has hired Jeff Nathanson to write the script with Jerry Jerry Bruckheimer set to produce and Johnny Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow.

The last installment, Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides grossed over $1 Billion worldwide but just $241 million domestic, the least domestically out of the four films. It shows the North American audiences are growing a bit tired of Jack Sparrow and the pirates universe.

Makes you wonder what happened to the Terry Rossio script that was turned into Disney in May of 2011. Is Nathanson starting from scratch or is he using the Rossio draft as a foundation?

Kick Off Party For Edward Burns Produced "Turk: The Movie"

Any hockey fan who is worth their salt knows who Derek Sanderson is. Nicknamed "The Turk", the former Boston Bruin made just as much of an impact on the ice as he did off of it. Apparently Hollyweird has taken notice of what could be a solid sports tale, especially interesting if you're from the Boston area and a die-hard Bruins fan like myself.

In November it was reported that Ed Burns (The Brothers McMullen) would produce & Doug Atchinson (Akeelah And The Bee) would be behind the lense. The script has been rewritten by Doug Atchinson from an earlier draft by Chris Pappa. The film will reportedly document the fall of Sanderson and how hockey great Bobby Orr helped the troubled athlete get his life back.

The kick off party for the film just recently took place at Boston's W Hotel and both Derek Sanderson & Bobby Orr were in attendance. Pictured above with Bruins fan Aaron Dynes and Gal Time's Andrea Krivelow.
