No sooner has /Film debuted one new poster and they are back with another, this time for Scream 4, and no that sadly is not a typo in the article title.

/Film has gotten their hands on a new poster for the highly anticipated new movie from Christopher Nolan. The film boasts an all star cast of Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Ellen Page and Ken Watanabe. It is described as an action thriller set inside the mind and as a sci fi heist film, which is fitting since the new posters gives me a vibe of Heat (Michael Mann hesit thriller)
A new trailer has arrived online for the new Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz action comedy "Kinight and Day," directed by James Mangold it is Tom Cruise' first foray into the summer blockbuster market since Mission Impossible III.
The first trailer was good but this second trailer is fantastic, Cruise has some great lines in here and there is a sparky chemistry between him and Diaz. The trailer also shows more of the big action sequences including the awesome looking bike chase that was filmed in Seville.
"Knight and Day" opens on June 25th and you can check out the trailer below.
This is a pleasant surprise, I always felt the Predators were damaged less by the AvP movies than the Aliens, but God knows both monster franchises need a reboot, the fact Fox allowed Robert Rodriguez to be the man behind rebooting the Predator franchise was a good start.
From this trailer I get the vibe the original with Arnie had, there is a sense of tension and scale not witnessed in the AvP movies, plus it does seem like maybe the aim is to do what Cameron did when following up Alien, by making this a war movie, the fact it is set on the Predators planet, which is a kind of giant game reserve, is an inspired move. I wish Rodriguez was directing instead of just producing (Nimrod Antal is driecting), but so far this is shaping up very promisingly and hopefully will restore some cred back to the Pred.
Predators opens on July 7th and you can check out the teaser below.
His new Scorsese directed thriller "Shutter Island" just hit cinemas yesterday and he has "Inception" to come later this year but Leonardo DiCaprio is not one to let the grass grow under his feet.
Deadline Hollywood is reporting the Leo is circling "Prisoners," a film initially set to star Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg and to be directed by Bryan Singer but that has struggled to get off the ground.
Leo DiCaprio is taken with Prisoners, an Aaron Guzikowski-scripted drama that Alcon Entertainment partners Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson bought last year. At the time, they signed Antoine Fuqua to direct. He has since dropped out. DiCaprio’s very particular about his directors — since 2002, he has made 4 films with Martin Scorsese and the only other directors he's worked with have been Chris Nolan, Ridley Scott, Sam Mendes, and Ed Zwick. So Leo's participation will depend on who's helming.
Prisoner has a Mystic River-meets-Takenstoryline, and DiCaprio wants to play a small-town carpenter who takes matters into his own hands when his daughter and her friend are kidnapped. “In the 12 years we’ve run this company, this is the most interesting, morally complex thriller we’ve ever gotten, and we can’t wait to make the movie,” Kosove told me. The script made the most recent Black List. And the Alcon duo, who with Gil Netter are up for Best Picture for The Blind Side, are producing with Kira Davis and Adam Kohlbrenner. Warner Bros will distribute. I’m told Leo will likely make another movie before taking Prisoners.
Given the talent that has been attracted to this project we have to gather that the script is at the very least decent, now DiCaprio has signaled his interest I am sure it wont take long for a top level director to become attached, hopefully this time it finally gets made as I dig the premise.
The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop that the CW has cast "Mission Impossible III" and "Live Free or Die Hard" star Maggie Q in their new take on "Nikita."
In a pilot season shaping up as the most diverse ever for leads in dramas, Maggie Q is in talks to play the title character in the CW's "Nikita" reboot.
The casting of Maggie Q is particularly significant as it jumps off an iconic character historically portrayed as Caucasian, first by Anne Parillaud in Luc Besson's 1990 film, followed by Bridget Fonda in the 1993 redo "Point of No Return" and Peta Wilson in the 1997 USA Network series.
The CW pilot's premise of a new Nikita being trained to replace the original one after she goes rogue gave creator Craig Silverstein an opportunity to break the stereotype, and he wrote the lead as "beautiful and exotic."
The pending hire of Maggie Q in "Nikita," from WBTV and McG's Wonderland, would mark the highest-profile series role for an Asian actress on a broadcast drama series and the highest-profile CW minority casting in the network's four-year history.
Hawaii-born Maggie Q made a name for herself as a Hong Kong action movie star before landing roles in "Mission: Impossible III" and "Live Free or Die Hard."
I first saw Maggie Q in an English language Hong Kong film called "Naked Weapon" (Mind out the gutter gentlemen, posted a trailer below for those curious) and it was basically a riff on the Nikita premise, Maggie certainly has the right ingredients for the role so best of luck to her and the show.
I liked the first US teaser for Oliver Stone's unlikely sequel but this full International trailer has me completely sold, here we get a great look at what appears to be an entertaining dynamic between Douglas' Gekko and Shia's young hotshot character, a dynamic that is set against the backdrop of what looks to be a slick thriller set in the world of big money and featuring some devilish humour.
This may be another in an ever increasing list of "Late" sequels of 80's hits, but I get the feeling this will deliver more than a mere cash-in, I mean how big of an audience is there on nostalgia alone for Gordon Gekko? a great character yes but hardly a Rambo or John McClane.
The other thing here is a chance for Shia LaBeouf to showcase his acting abilities for the mainstream who haven't seen his excellent performance in "A Guide to Recognizing your Saints" against top acting heavyweights like Douglas and Brolin.
"Wall Street 2:Money Never Sleeps" opens April 23rd and you can check out the trailer below.
Ahhh the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, I loved the first movie, liked the second and hated the third, by the time we got to "At Worlds End" the whole thing had become bloated and was no longer an action/adventure movie but a merely a showcase to see how far Johnny Depp could push the silliness of Jack Sparrow.
However it made pot loads of bullion so there is going to be a 4th movie though this time without Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom, thus the announcement today via Heat Vision that Spanish beauty and top actress Penelope Cruz will be swashing her buckle in the 4th installment, taking up the female lead mantle from Knightley's Miss Elizabeth Swann.
Penelope Cruz is in negotiations to join Johnny Depp and sail the seven seas in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," the fourth installment of the movie series being directed by Rob Marshall.
Depp is reprising his popular role of Captain Jack Sparrow, and while plot details are buried deeper than Blackbeard's treasure, it is known the tale revolves around the Fountain of Youth.
Cruz's character details are also being kept secret, though she is to be Sparrow's foil and equal in many ways.
Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot wrote the script. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing.
For Cruz, the role reunites her with Marshall, who directed her in "Nine." Her performance garnered her an Oscar nomination in the best supporting actress category just last week. She won the Oscar for best actress in a supporting role for 2008's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona."
"Pirates" will set sail before cameras in Hawaii this summer. Disney plans for a May 20, 2011, release.
I like the idea of Cruz being Depp's equal, it suggests she will be playing a sexy female pirate captain which is a good move in my opinion, if Sparrow is dialed back a bit and the running time kept from bloating, this may just entice me yet.
Another lump of SFX eye candy from M. Night's Airbender adaption has been released. Stunning visuals, epic looking battles and gorgeous cinematography abound!
I am entering this movie simply as a film fan and I think it looks great, I'd also bet it will become M. Night's biggest hit to date.
"The Last Airbender" opens on July 2nd and you can check out the trailer below.
Directed by Robert Luketic it essentially treads a similar path to "Knight and Day" only it looks about half as polished.
I didn't find it particularly funny or the action very eye catching, however if you can look past Ashton Kutcher's anti-charisma it might be worth a rent.
"The Killers" opens on June 4th and you can check out the trailer below.
