The Last Airbender Character Posters

I think this is going to be one the summers sleeper hits along with The Sorcerers Apprentice. IGN has gotten hold of two rather cool new character posters.

I honestly can't recall much about trailer #1 other than I found it pretty poor, somehow this trailer doesn't feel knew to me but it is supposed to be.
This essentially looks like a charisma and laugh free version of Knight & Day, Kutcher and Heigl come off like B movie versions of Cruise and Diaz and the action also looks low budget in comparison.
My guess is they were aiming more to be a rip off of Mr and Mrs Smith meshed with a bit of True Lies, but due to the release of Knight & Day in the same year they face a much more immediate and direct comparison, one I expect will not result in The Killers favour.
The Killers is released on June 4th and you can watch the trailer below.
I have a confession to make...calm yourselves it's not that type of confession........no it's a confession that despite being a child of the 80's I have never seen Tron, however I plan to rectify that situation before the spiffy new sequel is released.
/Film has gotten hold of a new banner for the film and included the previous 3, all of which you can view in order below!
No not the stuff you put on your chips/fries, images from the decidely clunky looking Angelina Jolie thriller courtesy of Latino Review.
I am usually a sucker for these types of movies, a good underwater monster flick is one of my guilty pleasure, and I make no apologies for recommending "Frankenfish" to other fans of the genre.
Here though we have one mediocre looking entry into the genre, it's directed by Alexandre Aja who was the man behind the excellent "The Hills Have Eyes" remake, but this just looks dull and the CGI is very poor, the fact the film is also a 3D release is no excuse, the only saving grace is Christopher Loyd tapping into his Doc Brown character as a Piranha expert - "This particular Piranha vanished 2 million years ago!!!!" is easily the highlight of the trailer.
Piranha 3D opens August 27th and you can see the trailer below.
Ryan Reynolds is of course best known for comedies, but next year he will look to step up to action hero blockbuster status as he headlines Warner Bros, DC comics adaption of Green Lantern, however Reynolds has also tried his hand at indies and this is the teaser for one such film.
Buried has a very simple premise, Reynolds character (Paul Conroy) wakes up to find himself buried alive, he has 90 minutes to try and find a way to be rescued. Now personally I am claustrophobic so this may not be for me but I've heard the script is superb, the teaser though is a bit too clever for it's own good, I think the reveal shot needs to be slightly longer with a closer look at Reynolds.
Buried opens September 24th and you can see the teaser below.
Comingsoon.Net via Yahoo Movies has gotten hold of the first image of Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder Thor, from the Kenneth Branagh directed Marvel film.......Not a Thor fan myself but I'm glad he doesn't have the helmet, let us know what you think fans!
I got an E Mail a while back from Amazon letting me know this trade paper back was out, due to the fact I have bought several of Ed Brubaker's Daredevil trades, however I didn't bother buying but news comes from /Film today that a movie version is on the way.
Mike Flemming has learned that 20th Century Fox is developing a big screen adaptation of Ed Brubaker’s graphic novel Incognito. Fox has hired Robert Schenkkan, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of The Kentucky Cycle, to pen the big screen adaptation.
For those of you who didn’t read the six-issue comic book limited series when it was published last year, it follows a former super villain named Zack Overkill, who is in the Witness Protection Program after giving testimony against his former boss The Black Death. Overkill is required to take a drug that eliminates his super abilities, given a new identity and a job delivering mail in an office.
Brubaker is quoted by deadline as saying that “We’ve all seen the story of a good person who goes undercover and gets corrupted” and that “This is a bad person forced to live among regular people, and how he’s affected by that.” Brubaker explains that the “goal was to have you rooting for him as he grows a conscience.” It certainly sounds like an interesting premise, and I’ve heard the comic is dark and pulpy.
This certainly seems like interesting material and I am sure as number of directors will be interested in taking a crack at it, having not read the book it is hard to offer an opinion on if it is suited for big screen adaption, but given the part Brubaker mentions about the ex-super villain getting a conscience I am guessing it is not just amoral like say "Wanted" is.
No, this is not the sequel to Seabuscuit but tonally it could be a cousin or even a brother or sister lost and raised by Ewoks. It's directed by the guy that made "We Were Soldiers" so don't expect any subtlty here.
It has a good cast with John Malkovich, Diane Lane and James Cromwell, but it looks and feels for all the world like a Hallmark afternoon movie.
Secretariat Opens this Fall and you can watch the trailer below.
I am not particularly squeamish but this makes my skin crawl, the trailer comes off like a cross between Alien and Species, hopefully the film itself has more in common with the former.
It will be interesting to see if this plays as just a straight up horror film or it it tries for some sort of moral message, and if it goes for the latter can it achieve it subtly or will it be with the usual sledge hammer methods these types of film tend to employ.
"Splice" Opens on June 4th and you can check out the trailer below.
