The Trailer For Tower Heist

Yahoo! Movies has debuted the trailer for the Brett Ratner directed 'Tower Heist,' a heist comedy starring Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Tea Leoni and, for some reason, Casey Affleck.

Here's the problem, this is a comedy heist movie, but it doesn't look funny and the heist doesn't look slick and cool, so it's basically a double scoop of fail.

Another Holiday-Centric Romantic Comedy

Well, last year's Valentine's Day seemed like a good idea (I guess, I haven't seen it), so why not pick another holiday and do basically the same thing again?  Check out the trailer below for New Year's Eve, which features another big ensemble cast including Zac Efron, Lea Michele, Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Katherine Heigl, Sarah Jessica Parker, Seth Myers, Ludacris, Jessica Biel, Hillary Swank, Jon Bon Jovi,  Michelle Pfieffer, Ashton Kutcher, Abigail Breslin, and for some reason, Robert DeNiro:

New Year's Eve opens in theaters on December 9.  Because this movie is probably not where you want to be spending your actual New Year's Eve.

"Fright Night" International Trailer

In the film, senior Charlie Brewster (Yelchin) finally has it all going on: he's running with the popular crowd and dating the most coveted girl in his high school. In fact, he's so cool he’s even dissing his best friend. But trouble arrives when Jerry (Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—but everyone, including Charlie's mom (Collette), doesn't notice. After observing some very strange activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on the neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself.

"Fire And Ice" Concept Art

I believe there is a restaraunt called "Fire & Ice" where you pick out your ingredients and cook the food right in front of you. I've heard of it and been there, but I have no idea what "Fire And Ice" the movie is. Robert Rodriguez is going to tell me right now.

"It looks like you just stepped into one of his paintings, where you get to see his world, and how he saw people, anatomy, and composition and color. It will feel like it's real, but not real. It'll be his reality. He saw things differently. He painted from his imagination. He didn't take a photograph and just paint it."

From his stronghold in Ice Peak, the evil Nekron sends forth a wave of deadly glaciers, forcing humanity to retreat to Fire Keep, a kingdom ruled by a generous king. When King Jarol's daughter Teegra is kidnapped, young warrior Larn teams with the mysterious and legendary Dark Wolf, to rescue the princess and the realm from Nekron’s evil sorcery.

Breaking News You Should Have Already Figured Out – Star Trek 2 Not Hitting June 2012

At the rate things were going with proposed start-dates (of which we got a few) coming and going with nothing happening mixed together with no firm commitment on J.J. Abrams' return to the director's chair and frequent, non-committal "We're still working on the story" updates from Alex Kurtzman, Damon Lindelof and Roberto Orci, Star Trek 2 wasn't going to make its June 29, 2012 release date.

So if you're surprised to hear Paramount is slotting its G.I. Joe sequel (now titled G.I. Joe: Retaliation instead of the deliciously-cheesy Cobra Strikes as first reported by Movie Hole) there instead, you really shouldn't be. Nevertheless, "TOLDJA" says the options on the U.S.S. Enterprise have been exercised, which is a fancier way of saying Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and the rest are coming back. Not that that was ever in doubt.

Meanwhile, Abrams himself is "moving toward a commitment to direct" and a new start-date (Here we go again...) aiming around January with a new release date either towards Christmas 2012 or summer 2013. Most likely outcome will be the latter and Paramount beaming it into theaters around the July 4th weekend.

Loved Star Trek, can't wait for its sequel, yadda, yadda, yadda. We've all heard this before. Can we finally get things going on Star Trek 2 for real now?

New Change-Up Trailer Makes Use of Its Red-Band Status

Having sat through the big blockbusters this summer, I can personally vouch that the closing Leslie Mann shit joke (and Jason Bateman's "Guns are still hot" reply) was the sole highlight of The Change-Up's first, otherwise crappy, trailer.

Screen Junkies have a new trailer for the Bateman/Ryan Reynolds body-swap swap comedy. This time coming in the form of a red-band that lets you know it's a hard-R with nonstop swearing (Not complaining whatsoever, mind you) and a closing joke again involving Mann and, I'll admit, a clever take on what happens when someone outside of the body-swapped were to be told about such an occurrence.

Maybe They'll Stop Calling Bourne Legacy a Reboot Now?

From the moment Universal and Tony Gilroy said The Bourne Legacy was going to carry on from where The Bourne Ultimatum left off with a new protagonist (Jeremy Renner), we've heard "reboot" being branded next to it.

Why I have no idea, beside it being the new "buzz" term to represent something brand-new, cooler or as The Simpsons said it best, "Aren't these just words that dumb people say to make themselves sounds smart?" Hopefully this will put an end to that nonsense.

Variety reports Joan Allen and Albert Finney will return for the Bourne sequel in their respective roles of Pamela Landy, the CIA agent originating from The Bourne Supremacy first as an adversary and by the end of Ultimatum an ally, and Albert Hirsch, the doctor responsible for the Operation Treadston program throughout the Doug Liman and Paul Greengrass-directed films.

All for continuity, but this is starting to feel a little Teen Wolf Too here.
