"Horrible Bosses" Red Band Trailer

<a href='http://http%3A%2F%2Fmovies.msn.com%2Fmovies%2Fmovie-trailers%2F%23%2Fvideo%2F84727385-377b-4831-ae10-f438e79adc3f' target='_new' title='&#39;Horrible Bosses&#39; Trailer (Mature Audiences)' >Video: &#39;Horrible Bosses&#39; Trailer (Mature Audiences)</a>

The only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable for Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (Charlie Day) would be to grind their intolerable bosses (Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston) into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con (Jamie Foxx), the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers...permanently. There's only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them.

The Last "Transformers 3" TV Spot

The Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide and Sideswipe led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009's Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There's new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime Transformers character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.

First Trailer for Boardwalk Empire Season 2

HBO has released the first trailer for the award winning Drama Boardwalk Empire's second season. The trailer is brief but intense and action packed much like the first season was. I really hope they can keep up the pace and intensity of the series as we progress through real and fictional history in the gangster packed prohibition era. The characters had all become fully formed by the end of the first season, but I think the second season promises to be much bigger. Al Capone and Lucky Luciano in Chicago and New York are coming into their own as Jimmy of Atlantic city is stepping out from behind Nucky Thompson's shadow. The season premieres this fall and I can't wait.

Movie Review: Conan O' Brien Can't Stop

In June of 2009 Conan O' Brien became the new host of the longest running franchise in history, The Tonight Show. Seven months later he departed from the show. His reason for leaving was simple; Jay Leno's new post-retirement show was being bumped into his time slot and The Tonight Showfor the first time ever would air at 12:05AM the following day. Conan refused to be the first host of the tonight show to host it the day after. Subsequently Conan left with a large settlement and Leno returned his huge ass chin to The Tonight Show.

As part of the agreement made with NBC in his settlement, Conan was prohibited from appearing on tv and radio in any capacity for the following six months. The decision to do a nation wide tour was first announce on his twitter account in March of 2010, the tour was to be called "The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour". Following the exploits and the behind the scenes of the tour was documentary filmmaker Rodman Flender. The documentary Conan O' Brien Can't Stop shows a side of Conan the publics never seen. Behind all the funny impressions and silly jokes on tv there's a real person who was burned badly by his own peers, whom he respected and worked with for over 15 years.

Following Conan on his tour and giveing perspective to who he really is was actually a lot funnier than I'd expected. He can be an asshole just like the rest of us, but unlike most people he really is that one guy that'll do anything for anyone. Getting the uncensored Conan was a refreshing take on his persona. Jokes involving everything from his backup singers to the ridiculous groupie fans he encounters were crude and unexpected, but so damn funny it made being an asshole look like a good time.

The film follows Conan on his journey back to center stage. In between the segments involving the tour was Conans home life and the relationship with his friends and writers. By the end of the tour he's physically and mentally exhausted, but it's clear he's come full circle. Only weeks after ending his tour he began work on his new show, Conan for TBS.

For long time fans of CoCo this film is a must see. Watching Conan in his truest raw form uncensored by television is the funniest I've ever seen him. Even casual fans and people only mildly familiar with him should be able to enjoy the ride just as much if not more. Unlike most documentaries, it never slows down or gets boring, the pace is fast moving but covers everything it set out to do. Most importantly giving the fans what they want, Conan doing what he does best, entertaining.

Immortals Trailer #2 - Same Bad Taste But With Improved Henry Cavill!

Let this logic settle in for a second before we go any further. Relativity Media and the filmmakers of Immortals last week announced they were going to premiere their brand-spanking-new trailer...on a radio show. Yep, they don't pay me the big bucks for those genius ideas.

Then again, it's Ryan Seacrest's show and, from what I'm told, a lot of people listen since he juggles two dozen hosting gigs at any given moment. So perhaps there are some smarts at work. For those without access to his show, it's also been posted on his official site.

That, however, doesn't change that the actual footage they're presenting isn't much of an improvement from the first trailer we got a few months ago. About the only positive note I can give is Henry Cavill (aka the new Superman) comes off considerably better here than before, i.e. that awful speech got castrated here. There's always the chance the Comic-Con footage is an upgrade next month?

Weekend Box Office: June 24 -26

Courtesy of Box Office Mojo:

1,  Cars 2 - $68 million

2.  Bad Teacher - $31 million

3.  Green Lantern - $18.3 million

4.  Super 8 - $12.1 million

5.  Mr. Popper's Penguins - $10.3 million

6.  X-Men: First Class - $6.6 million

7.  The Hangover Part II - $5.8 million

8.  Bridesmaids - $5.3 million

9.  Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - $4.7 million

10.  Midnight in Paris - $4.4 million

Pixar strikes again, mostly.  Even when hit with their first failing grade from the critics, Cars 2 raced past expectations this weekend, opening with $68 million.  That would indicate that the one Pixar franchise that leaves most older audiences cranky is still plenty popular with the family crowd.  However, the film did drop 9% from Friday to Saturday, when most family films tend to see a rise in ticket sales.  So, it sounds like that family crowd might not be loving the movie either.  Although, the franchise is so damn popular it will most likely still play well through the Transformers and Harry Potter onslaught coming in the next few weeks.  And we all know that Disney will still make a gazillion in toy sales regardless of how the film does from here.

Another bad sign for 3D:  less than half of Cars 2's ticket sales came from 3D screenings - only 40%.  We have yet to see any of this summer's films open big in 3D.  Will Michael Bay's somewhat desperate letter-writing campaign convince everyone that Transfomers really needs to be seen in 3D next week?  We'll see.

It was a good weekend for Cameron Diaz, as Bad Teacher opened with $31 million to become this summer's third R-rated comedy hit.  That's a nice opening, however - Teacher also had an alarming 10% drop from Friday to Saturday, and earned a paltry "C+" from Cinemascore, which doesn't bode well if the movie is hoping to have Bridesmaids-type staying power.

Green Lantern?  Yikes.  After an already-underwhelming $53 million opening last weekend, the summer's third superhero film dropped an ugly 66% to earn just $18.4 million.  Overseas, it's only grossed $29 million.  At least Warner Bros. still has Harry Potter to look forward to in a few weeks, but this one still hurts.

Super 8 had another decent weekend, with $12.1 million, and at this point is just a few days away from crossing the $100 million mark.  Mr. Popper's Penguins also had a respectable 45% drop this weekend, although the movie has only grossed $39 million so far, which is low for a Jim Carrey film.

Next week...well, on Tuesday, when the 9pm screenings start (and I'll be two hours into a theatrical re-release of the extended edition of Return of the King), Transformers: Dark of the Moon arrives in theaters.  They're promising that this movie will better than the rancid Revenge of the Fallen, so if it is, it should be a good holiday weekend for Autobot/Decepticon lovers everywhere

'Fast & Furious 6' Coming to Theaters Memorial Day Weekend 2013

That didn't take long.

With Fast Five nearing the $600 million mark at the global box-office, it's no surprise Universal is eager to get the next installment going.

The studio announced yesterday that the tentatively titled Fast & Furious 6 will be released May 24th, 2013 for the Memorial Day weekend.  I guess they figured the franchise is now "summer" worthy after opening the past two installments in April to major success.

Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and Dwayne Johnson are set to return along with Justin Lin once again behind the camera to direct.

I assume the plot will involve that little easter egg they put in after the end credits of Fast Five.

What's that?  You didn't see the film?  You didn't stay after the credits?  You have no idea what I'm talking about?  Well watch below as the video is considered *SPOILER-ish*:

Christopher Meloni Joins 'Man of Steel'

While it's sad we'll no longer get to see Detective Stabler screaming, "She's the same age as my daugther!", on a weekly basis anymore, it sounds as if Christopher Meloni will be doing just fine without Law & Order: SVU.

Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Meloni is currently in negotiations for a "major role" in the Zack Snyder directed, Christoper Nolan produced Superman reboot, Man of Steel.  No specifics are given as to what role Meloni could be playing, but one could assume based on his stature and hairline, he might be playing a character with the initials LL.

Meloni joins a cast that already include Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Julia Ormond as Lara, and of course, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman.

I have to say, with the cast shaping up around this film, not to mention the behind-the-camera talent involved, it's hard not to have high expectations for this thing.  We'll see come Christmas 2012.

Harry Potter Goes Digital With Pottermore

Now you had to know that when JK Rowling finally agreed to release the Harry Potter books in the digital format that they wouldn't just be simple e-books for your Kindle.  Naturally, we're getting something much cooler than that (although for you boring folks, the regular e-book versions are coming out this fall as well).  After weeks of speculation, the mysterious *new* Harry Potter project Pottermore was finally unveiled, courtesy of the soon-to-be-even-more-mega-rich-author herself:

Some more information on the new site from the official press release:

For this groundbreaking collaborative project, J.K. Rowling has written extensive new material about the characters, places and objects in the much-loved stories, which will inform, inspire and entertain readers as they journey through the storylines of the books. Pottermore will later incorporate an online shop where people can purchase exclusively the long-awaited Harry Potter eBooks, in partnership with J.K. Rowling’s publishers worldwide, and is ultimately intended to become an online reading experience, extending the relevance of Harry Potter to new generations of readers, while still appealing to existing fans. As the Pottermore Shop develops, it is intended that it should include further products designed specifically for Harry Potter fans, offering a potential outlet for Sony products and services related to Pottermore. In keeping with Harry Potter’s international appeal, the site will launch in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish, with more languages to follow.

In the new website, the storyline will be brought to life with sumptuous newly-commissioned illustrations and interactive ‘Moments’ through which you can navigate, starting with the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s (Sorcerer’s) Stone. On entering, you choose a magic username and begin your experience. As you move through the chapters, you can read and share exclusive writing from J.K. Rowling, and, just as Harry joins Hogwarts, so can you. You visit Diagon Alley, get sorted into a house, cast spells and mix potions to help your house compete for the House Cup.

So, it sounds like not only will you be able to read the books digitally, but you will get to interact with the story online by being part of a virtual version of the wizarding world in the books, which also allows you to read additional material Rowling has written for the books.  That is pretty damn cool.  And I especially like how much it emphasizes reading the books as the most important part of being immersed in the Potter universe.  It's not just a video game, dammit...they're books, first and foremost.

The site is scheduled to launch in October, but you can enter your email address here for a chance to be an early beta tester for the site starting July 31.
