Thor And Cap Kick Some Ass!!!

As most know by now Joss Whedon's adaption of The Avengers is filming in Cleveland at the moment, and today this video was captured of Thor (Hemsworth) and Captain America (Evans) teaming up in a fight against some guys in mo-cap suits, who will be aliens in the movie.

The big question is which race of aliens will the villains be? at this point all we know is that Thor's "brother" Loki is at the center of the plot. The Avengers opens May 4th, 2012 and you can check out the vid below.

"The Caller" Poster

Directed by Matthew Parkhill from a script by Sergio Casci, the story concerns a troubled divorcee, Mary Kee (played by Lefevre, who replaced the late Brittany Murphy during production). She moves into a new apartment, where she comes across an old telephone that she falls in love with; however, when she hooks it up, she begins to receive strange calls from a mysterious woman named Rose (DRAG ME TO HELL’s Lorna Raver). The two eventually establish an unlikely friendship, but when Rose claims to be calling from the past, Mary grows suspicious of her new friend. As Rose’s phone calls grow more disturbing, Mary cuts off contact with Rose, who threatens terrible revenge—not just on the Mary of the present, but Mary as a child in the past… THE CALLER also stars two other vampire veterans, TRUE BLOOD’s Stephen Moyer and INNOCENT BLOOD’s Luis Guzmán.

"We Were Here" Trailer

WE WERE HERE is the first documentary to take a deep and reflective look back at the impact of the AIDS epidemic in San Francisco when it was first identified 30 years ago this year. It explores how the City’s inhabitants were affected by, and responded to the calamitous epidemic.  Reaching beyond San Francisco and the human toll of AIDS itself, it inspirationally speaks to the human capacity of individuals to rise to the occasion, and to the incredible collective power of a community coming together with love, compassion, and determination.

WE WERE HERE is directed by David Weissman and Bill Weber, whose 2001 acclaimed documentary, THE COCKETTES, chronicled San Francisco’s legendary theater troupe of hippies and drag queens from 1969 – 1972.  WE WERE HERE revisits the city a decade later, as its flourishing gay community is hit with an unimaginable disaster.

Machine Gun Preacher Trailer

I'm not a fan of Gerard Butler to be honest but apparently his performance in this film has been getting good buzz, and now I see why, not only does it look like a strong performance but his American accent also appears to be much better than in any previous movies where he has attempted to hide his distinctive Scottish tones.

The film itself is based on the true life story of Sam Childers, a drug dealing biker who made a miraculous turn around in his life and ended up going to Africa to help rebuild villages destroyed by civil war. Once there he found himself in the middle of one of the worst war zones ran by the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), who took children and turned them into soldiers before they were even teens.

In response he became the founder of the Angels of East Africa rescue organization that saved the lives of hundreds of kidnapped and orphaned children, as they went on missions into the worst parts of the region.

Directed by Marc Foster and also starring Michelle Monaghan, the film opens in NY and LA on September 23rd and I urge you to check out the powerful trailer below.

Abduction Poster

Taylor Lautner will be stepping out of his role as Jacob from the Twilight series to become a bad ass on a quest to find the truth. Moviefone as this brand new poster from the action thriller. The first trailer grabbed my attention very well and looks to be a fast-paced action and mystery thrill ride.

What would you do if you found your own picture on a missing persons website? Teen Nathan Harper (Taylor Lautner) finds himself facing this very dilemma. Setting out to uncover his real identity, Nathan quickly learns his parents are far from who they say they are. When the police, government agents and shadowy figures start to pursue him, Nathan’s quest for the truth erupts into a full-blown “Bourne”-like man-on-the-run thriller.

Breaking Dawn Part 1 Photos

Summit Entertainment has released new photos for the first installment of their two parter Breaking Dawn. The studio is looking for these two parts to be massive hits much like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I have no doubts the "Twi-Hards" will be out in full force to help push this one to new heights for the franchise but it's likely to fall significantly short of the box office numbers from HP7 pt.2. Check out the full gallery of photos over at Collider.

The highly anticipated fourth installment of The Twilight Saga, directed by Academy Award® winner Bill Condon, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 reveals the mysteries of this romantic epic that has entranced millions.

In The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson), plus those they love, must deal with the chain of consequences brought on by a marriage, honeymoon, and the tumultuous birth of a child… which brings an unforeseen and shocking development for Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).

With more of the romance, passion, intrigue and action that made Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse worldwide blockbusters, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, based on Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling book series, begins the conclusion of the tale of vampire love, boundless friendship, acceptance, and finding your true self.

Stephenie Meyer is a worldwide publishing phenomenon.  The translation rights for her four Twilight novels have been sold in nearly 50 countries and 116 million copies have been sold worldwide.  Her books have been on the bestseller list for over 142 weeks, and counting.

The first of a two-part adaptation, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 is directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls, Gods and Monsters) from a screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg, based on the novel Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer.  Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner star.

U.S. release is November 18, 2011.  Anticipated Rating is PG-13.

Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance Poster

Comingsoon.net has the exclusive first poster for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Nothing impressive here as it certainly does tease, but fails to please. It's quite as horrendous as my feeble attempt at rhyme. The first installment was a paint to sit through in theatres and I sometimes feel like it ranks below even the atrocious Batman and Robin. I'm sure there are some fans of the first movie and will be amped up for this sequel so if you are in that bunch, allow your eyes to feast on the flaming chain!

The film sees Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider (Cage), hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse. Blaze is recruited by a sect to take on the devil (Ciaran Hinds), who wants to take over his mortal son's body on the kid's birthday.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is set for release on February 17th, 2012.

Texas Killing Fields Trailer

Anchor Bay Films via Comingsoon.net have debuted the trailer for their new thriller The Texas Killing Fields. The film is due for release in October and below is the synopsis and trailer.

It looks dark stuff but a tightly played cat & mouse thriller between detectives and a serial killer will always be enticing material if it is executed well. I don't know anything about the real case this film is using as it's inspiration but I am glad they are taking that approach rather than just retelling what happened, as it opens up the cinematic license to make a better film.

Synopsis:

Inspired by true events, the thriller follows a local homicide detective (Worthington) in a small Texan town and his partner, a transplanted cop from New York City (Dean Morgan) as they track a sadistic serial killer dumping his victims' mutilated bodies in a nearby marsh locals call "The Killing Fields."

The killer changes the game and begins hunting the detectives, teasing them with possible clues at the crime scenes while always remaining one step ahead. When a familiar local girl, Anne (Chloe Grace Moretz) goes missing the detectives find themselves in a race against time to find the killer and save her life.

Ridley Scott To Make New Blade Runner Film!

I'm guessing Ridley is feeling nostalgic about his sci fi roots, as following on from his currently filming Alien prequel 'Prometheus' news arrives today from Alcon Entertainment via Comingsoon.net that he will produce and direct a new Blade Runner Film.

As of now it is unknown whether it will be a sequel or a prequel but I pray it's the latter, or better yet another movie set within the Blade Runner universe, it needn't star Harrison Ford or follow the same characters as the classic original.

As most know by now, Blade Runner was not a commercial hit back in 1982 when the studio thought they would be getting something akin to a Han Solo movie and instead got a thoughtful piece of dark sci fi with minimal action. However in time it became recognized as a masterpiece and the design work of the films near future vision is the most iconic and influential in all of sci fi.
