"The Rum Diary" Trailer

Based on the debut novel by Hunter S. Thompson, "The Rum Diary" tells the increasingly unhinged story of itinerant journalist Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp). Tiring of the noise and madness of New York and the crushing conventions of late Eisenhower-era America, Kemp travels to the pristine island of Puerto Rico to write for a local newspaper, The San Juan Star, run by downtrodden editor Lotterman (Richard Jenkins). Adopting the rum-soaked life of the island, Paul soon becomes obsessed with Chenault (Amber Heard), the wildly attractive Connecticut-born fiancée of Sanderson (Aaron Eckhart). Sanderson, a businessman involved in shady property development deals, is one of a growing number of American entrepreneurs who are determined to convert Puerto Rico into a capitalist paradise in service of the wealthy. When Kemp is recruited by Sanderson to write favorably about his latest unsavory scheme, the journalist is presented with a choice: to use his words for the corrupt businessmen's financial benefit, or use them to take the bastards down.

"Fireflies In The Garden" Trailer

In the film, opening in limited theaters on October 14, Michael Taylor (Ryan Reynolds) is an author who has channeled his painful childhood memories into his novels. With some reluctance, he is flying home for his mother Lisa's (Julia Roberts) college graduation. After a lifetime of putting everyone else first, stroking her husband's (Willem Dafoe) massively insecure ego and raising her children in spite of that, it's Lisa's turn. What should be a moment of great celebration turns into a tragic reunion when Lisa is killed in a car accident, leaving father, son and family to pick up the pieces.

While preparing for their mother's funeral, memories are relived and secrets are revealed which will test the family bond. After a childhood of hiding in his father's shadows, protected by his mother, Michael must confront his past and find an understanding of his family, his father and himself.

Marisa Miller Joins R.I.P.D.

.......Ahem........ready for the news now guys? I'm not sold on this concept but I liked Robert Schwentke's Flightplan and RED so I'll await a trailer before judging, and news arrives today that Marisa Miller has joined the cast......I'm guessing not for her acting talents, at any rate Heatvision have the scoop.

Add Marisa Miller’s name of recent Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated models that are slinking into acting.

Miller, who was a Victoria’s Secret Angels and 2008 SI Swimsuit cover girl, has inked a deal to join the cast of R.I.P.D., Universal’s supernatural action movie starring Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges.

The project marks the feature debut for Miller, who has appeared in episodes of Entourage, Gary Unmarried, and How I Met Your Mother. Her casting attracted the attention of CAA, which just snapped her up.

Robert Schwentke is directing the project, which follows a murdered cop (Reynolds) who is recruited to work in the Rest in Peace Department, a police force comprised of ghosts who battle spirits unready to depart this world.

Bridges is playing Reynolds' ghostly partner and Miller will be his human avatar, the form humans see when Bridges' character is in his earthly form.

Kevin Bacon, Mary-Louise Parker, and Stephanie Szostak are also in the cast.

Miller, one of the iconic names in the swimsuit and lingerie industry,  appeared in every Sports llustrated Swimsuit issue from 2002 to 2008, with her 2008 cover breaking sales records for the magazine.

She continues to be managed by Griffin Guess and Zoe Lee of Cartel Management.

Models have been making a splash in the film world this year, with Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whitely making her feature debut with a leading role in Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and Sports Illustrated model Brooklyn Decker appearing with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in Just Go With It.

I'll be honest, I don't get the fuss over this film at all. I thought from the trailer it looked thoroughly depressing and for my money had Fincher not been directing, movie fans would doing the usual moaning and whining about it being a remake, especially given it's a remake of a film only a few years old.

Three New Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Pics

Not only is Sherlock Holmes on the front cover of Empire Magazines winter preview issue, but inside are three new images, and for those of us who are not mag buyers they have very kindly put them on their site.

The one with Holmes and Moriarty engaged in a game of chess is the most intriguing. I liked the first movie and am a lifelong fan of the character, and what I have seen so far gives me hope that this sequel will build on the very entertaining first movie.

DiCaprio and Maguire on The Great Gatsby Set

Comingsoon.Net via Flynet Pictures have gotten hold of the first set pictures of Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire on the set of Baz Luhrmann's adaption of F. Scott Fitzgerald novel 'The Great Gatsby'.

I actually didn't know DiCaprio was making this, and while I am a  big fan of his this is not a project that interests me greatly, and I don't care a lot of Luhrmann's style. Still, nice car.
