More from the Deathly Hallows Blu-Ray

The Harry Potter fansite Snitchseeker has an exclusive sneak peak from the upcoming blu-ray edition of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.  The clip is part of the conversation with JK Rowling and Daniel Radcliffe, which is shaping up to be a highlight of the blu-ray's special features from what we've seen so far.

In this clip, Rowling and Radcliffe discuss how everything fell into place for them when the role of Harry was finally cast:

There's a great video making its way around the interwebs of the Potter trio's early screentests that's worth a look if you want to get an idea of what Rowling must have seen that you can check out here.  It's hard to believe they were ever that little!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 arrives in stores on November 11.

'Wanted' Screenwriters Hired to Pen Sequel

Looks like that long-planned sequel to Wanted is finally happening.

Heat Vision reports the 2008 action blockbuster's writing duo of Derek Haas and Michael Brandt are returning to Universal to pen the follow-up to the James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie starrer.

For those who aren't familiar, Universal was keen to get a sequel off the ground immediately following the original film's success back in 2008 ($341 million worldwide).  However, scripting the film proved difficult as both Chris Morgan (who worked on the first film) and Evan Spiliotopoulos were individually commissioned to come up with a story but couldn't quite crack a script.

Now, Haas and Brandt are set get to work right away on the flick, apparently based on what Spiliotopoulos had come up with.

No word yet on if the first film's main cast and crew (director Timur Bekmambetov, McAvoy, Jolie) will return for the follow-up, though it was reported a while back that Jolie had passed on the project.

The 2008 film, based on a comic-book mini-series by Mark Millar and J.G. Jones, told the story of a young, confused office worker who discovers his father was apart of a secret society of super-human assassins.

More on this project as it become available.

Clip From Butter

This little indie flick starring Jennifer Garner, Hugh Jackman, Olivia Wilde, Ashley Greene and and comedy god Ty 'Phil Dunphy Burrell has been on my radar for a while now but has waited ages for a release.

Today SuperheroHype! via The Weinstein Company put a clip on line, the clip features an hilarious speech by Jennifer Garner's character.

Ambitious Laura Pickler (Jennifer Garner) is the self-anointed First Lady of Butter Carving. Refusing to accept that her husband (Ty Burrell) wants to step down after his 15-year run as the "Iowa State Butter Carving Champion," and therefore end the Pickler family's reign in the spotlight, Laura takes a stab at the title herself. But her bid for glory is complicated when two unlikely contestants enter the race – one, her husband's hard-living mistress (Olivia Wilde), and the other a 10-year-old foster child named Destiny (Yara Shahidi). Enlisting the help of her high school sweetheart, Boyd (Hugh Jackman), Laura will stop at nothing to be crowned champion, even if it means resorting to sabotage.

Paranormal Activity 3 - New Viral Clip

I'm not so sure we need a third Paranormal Activity movie.  Some would probably argue that we probably never needed the first Paranormal Activity movie either, but I'm in the camp that thought that the original film, despite having some truly brain-dead main characters, did have its geniunely creepy moments.  The sequel was all right, but the novelty was definitely wearing off.

But since these movies cost pocket-change to make and they go on to earn millions, we're getting a third film anyway.  Shock Till You Drop has this new clip from their viral campaign, which if you wind back a few times, you'll notice some creepy goings-on in the bedroom of our two main characters:

Ooooh, scary!  Paranormal Activity 3 opens in theaters on October 21.

Justice League: Doom Voice Cast

A trailer debut was announced last week set to be revealed at the New York Comic Con and TV Guide has landed the actors behind the characters for DC's next animated feature following Batman: Year One

The voice cast will include; Tim Daly as Superman, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Michael Rosenbaum as the Flash, Carl Lumbly as the Martian Manhunter, Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman, Kevin Conroy as Batman, and Bumper Robinson as Cyborg.

Cyborg isn't featured originally as one of the members, but DC has pushed the character into the forefront in recent months. It looks as though he will be taking the spots of Aquaman and Plastic Man.

The story is taken from "Tower Of Babel" in the Justice League comic written by Mark Waid, which deals with Batman keeping secret records of each members strengths and weaknesses, beyond their knowing, with ways to render them inactive should they turn rouge at any point. This backfires as Ra's Al Ghul steals the files and uses them to prevent the League from interfering with his plans.

Certain aspects of this story was previously adapted for the Justice League animated series in a three part finale called "Starcrossed". Dwayne McDuffie wrote the script before his tragic death back in February, while Lauren Montgomery will direct. Montgomery is no stranger to the animated world of DC with four of the feature length films on her resume already.

In addition to the preview at New York Comic-Con on Oct. 14th, the trailer will also be included with the Batman: Year One release on Oct. 18th. There is no official release date for Justice League: Doom, but it's planned to be out in early 2012.

More Set Pics From TDKR In LA!

If you are like me and you still love to see real stunts and practical work in action films, then you are going to love these pics.

We've seen the new Bat vehicle in action with a dummy in the cockpit, driven fast on a rig. Well here we have Christian Bale himself as Batman sitting in the cockpit for some close up shots as it's moved on a  different rig.

Now I am not sure if this is a separate cockpit they have made or if the cockpit from the full vehicle detaches and can be attached onto a different rig, either way it's awesome to see.

Also captured on set was a pic of Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway having a friendly moment in-between takes, while in full costume.

7 Clips And An Early Screening Impression Of Real Steel

Steve 'Frosty' Weintraub  over at Collider has posted up 7 clips (in 1 vid) and his impression of Real Steel. I'm personally really looking forward to the movie and the impressions below mirror the vibe I get from the footage I've seen.

With director Shawn Levy’s Real Steel getting released October 7th, DreamWorks has sent over seven clips.  Produced by Steven Spielberg  and starring Hugh Jackman, Evangeline Lilly, Anthony Mackie, Kevin Durand, Hope Davis, and Dakota Goyo, the film is set in near future when robot-boxing has become the most popular sport in the world.  The pic centers on Charlie (Jackman) a former boxer who is attempting to mentor/program a robot to the top of the android-boxing ranks along with his estranged son.

I got to see a screening a few days ago and have to say…the movie is pretty great and the effects are incredible.  It definitely has the Spielberg magic and I think a lot of fathers and sons are going to really enjoy it.  Also, Levy does a great job with the material and I really think this is his ticket into fandom’s hearts.  Trust me, after this opens, you’re going to see a lot of people talking about Levy in a new light.   It won’t surprise me when people start mentioning his name on some high profile projects.

Meet Superman's Latest Hot Mom

Filming's been going onward and upward for The Man of Steel since July. While fans wait to see if bow-tie wearing photographers or bald-headed billionaires suffering from contempt of Kryptonian superheroes show up, there's been a change of plans for one previously cemented role.

Lara, the birthmother of Superman/Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill), was originally set to be played by Julia Ormond. Reports "TOLDJA," she's out (No word on the reason for the last-second move) and Ayelet Zurer has taken her place next to Russell Crowe's Jor-El.

You may remember her best for having flashback sex with Eric Bana in Steven Spielberg's gripping Munich and Tom Hanks' sidekick in Ron Howard's boring Angels & Demons. She'll report to set this coming week as Zack Snyder and crew have moved up north to Vancouver for mostly interior shooting such as the planet Krypton material from the first act, the Fortress of Solitude, possibly more detailed Daily Planet stuff and who knows what else.

AKA: you can kiss all those out-in-the-open pictures taken from the set goodbye.

Weekend Box Office: September 23-25

Courtesy of Box Office Mojo:

1.  The Lion King 3D - $22.1 million

2.  Moneyball - $20.6 million

3.  Dolphin Tale - $20.2 million

4.  Abduction - $11.2 million

5.  Killer Elite - $9.5 million

6.  Contagion - $8.5 million

7.  Drive - $5.7 million

8.  The Help - $4.4 million

9.  Straw Dogs - $2.1 million

10.  I Don't Know How She Does It - $2 million

After two weeks, it's still good to be the king.  Despite facing a slew of new releases, Disney's 3D re-release of The Lion King easily grabbed the top spot for the second weekend in a row, earning $22.1 million.  That puts it at $61.7 million since opening last week, and its cumulative total since the original 1994 run at $390.1 million.  Hakuna matata!

It was a good weekend to be a baseball movie too (decent timing as well, with the MLB playoffs just around the corner), as Moneyball, starring Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill, scored a decent $20.6 million.  That makes it the best opening for a baseball movie since 2006's The Benchwarmers, which opened with $19.7 million.

Dolphin Tale, the go-to movie for families who've already seen The Lion King, also opened strongly, with an estimated $20.2 million.  That's so close to Moneyball that the two films may need to switch places when the actual weekend numbers are figured in.

The dismally reviewed Abduction flatlined this weekend with just $11.2 million/ It would appear the "Team Jacob" contingent of the Twilight fanbase showed up to see star Taylor Lautner, but no one else did.  Well, at least he can console himself with the impending Breaking Dawn release later this fall.  The film did fare better than Jason Statham's latest effort, Killer Elite, which opened with a lackluster $9.5 million.

Holdovers Contagion and The Help continued to play well, and even Drive, which received an ominous "C-" Cinemascore grade from audiences, earned a decent $5.7 million in its second weekend.

Next weekend sees the releases of 50/50, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen, as well the comedy What's Your Number? and the Daniel Craig psychological thriller Dream House.
