"Man Of Steel" Producers To Dominate Highways In Illinois

Good to see Superman back in the land of webmasters and forum dwellers again, although I'm not sure the general public knows a new Superman film is being worked on just yet.
According to the My Web Times in Illinois The Brothers Warner have filed for 34 special road permits with the Dept. Of Transportation in Northern Lasalle County.
I have no idea where any of this is, but I would have to say this might be the biggest thing to happen in this area since Sammy Sosa stopped there to buy gas while passing through to Wrigley Field one Summer afternoon.
Josh Kauffman of IDOT in Springfield told The Times Tuesday producers have requested to use a portion of U.S. 34 north of Mendota for filming later this summer or early fall. Kauffman does not know what the highway scenes would entail.
The Valley Free Press in DeKalb reports Plano Mayor Bob Hausler and Bill Doyle of Warner Bros. will be the special guests at the opening of the Plano United Methodist Church farmers' market Saturday, July 16.
Doyle is the supervising location manager for Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, "Man of Steel," which will be filming its Smallville scenes in Plano in the coming weeks. Doyle also worked on such films as "Star Trek," "2012" and most recently, "Green Lantern."
Hausler and Doyle are expected to field questions about the movie production being filmed in Plano, and find out how the city was selected to portray fictional Smallville.
Interesting. I wonder if Doyle and Hausler will answer any juicy questions or will there will be softballs thrown up there for them to crush over the cornfields?
Can't wait to see Kevin Costner returning to the familiar fields of corn that he previously owned during "Field of Dreams" Wonder how long it is before he shows up with Cavill and the luscious Diane Lane? August at the lastest I hope.
