Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time - New Stills!

Empire have an exclusive set of new stills from "Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time," now granted they do look a bit like the covers off some cheesy romance novel, or maybe someone caught Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton filming a tie in deodorant ad? but regardless, they certainly capture a lush romanticism reminiscent of the oldschool epics.

Check the film stills below and if you want to see two more pics on set, that look like Jerry Bruckheimer was looking for the lost ark during the shoot, then click the link.

    The Book of Eli Trailer

The arrival online of a trailer for a new Denzel movie is always cause for interest, as the great man is one of the most consistent Hollywood megastars when it comes to delivering.

Here we have the trailer for "The Book of Eli," a post apocalyptic western with Denzel as the guardian of said book, traversing the wastelands that look like a cross between a Leone western and Mad Max.

Denzel is in full on badass mode here in a role that sees him doing his own fight scenes that you can get a glimpse of in the trailer. The Hughes brothers were keen to point out that Denzel, unlike most non-Asian actors, was able to pull off full fight sequences in one take.

The Book of Eli opens on January 15, 2010 and you can see the trailer below.

'Ninja Assassin' Trailer Slices Its Way Online

Ahhhhh, Ninjas! Who doesn't love em? The mythology surrounding the Ninja, one in which fact and fiction have blurred together, is enticing to just about any fan of the action genre.

Now, those chaps (or is one of them now a woman?) behind "The Matrix" (we'll forget the sequels) have decided to make a brand new Ninja movie. Unlike most Ninja movies of the past though, this one actually has a budget.

Just like on the excellent "V for Vendetta," The Wachowskis are producers while James McTeigue steps into the director's chair.

The trailer doesn't give a whole lot up in terms of story. It basically is centered on the lead character (played by Korean pop hunk Rain) and how he became a Ninja, before launching into a load of awesome-looking action shots. The Wachowskis' trademark style is evident and man does this look like a cool 90 minute action blast!

"Ninja Assassin" opens Nov. 24 and you can check the trailer out below:

    New "Iron Man 2" Images

Comingsoon.net has gotten hold of some nice new high res images from the highly anticipated sequel. In the first image we see RDJ as Tony Stark in his racing attire from the much talked about Monaco GP sequence. In the second pic we see Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanov (Black Widow) in some sort of secretary type scenario, minus her leather combat suit and guns. There are a few more images at the link above.

    Official "Whiteout" Trailer

A few weeks ago our very own Sean got the drop on what appeared to be a leaked promo trailer for the graphic novel adaption "Whiteout," starring Kate Beckinsale.

Well tonight IGN have gotten hold of the first "Official" trailer, and while much of the opening is the same, this official trailer delves more into the murder mystery aspect and showcases more of Beckinsale's (Check the shower clip fellas ) character - US Marshal Carrie Stetko.

I loved the books, the remote setting, the freezing conditions and the mysterious goings on all create a great atmosphere, an atrmosphere clearly captured in the trailer and evoking John Carpneter's classic "The Thing." The trailer also gives us a better look at the action, and whilst there is a bit of clunky CGI the action looks generally decent, even though it is more of a thriller than an action film.

Whiteout is released on September 11th and you can check the trailer out below.

    'Shutter Island' Poster

Oh, I cannot wait for this movie!

The book is an exceptional thriller and the trailer for this adaption was everything I hoped it would be and more. Scorsese and DiCaprio have a great track record together and my hope is this will be their best yet.

The poster matches the trailer in its perfection, totally evoking the atmosphere of the book and the stylings of those old noir-esque thrillers.

"Shutter Island" opens Oct. 2 and you can check out the poster below.

Morgan Freeman gets "Red" with Bruce Willis

Our very own Sean posted an article earlier.........well it might have been yesterday actually, time difference is a bitch.....but anyway, he posted an article about upcoming DC comics projects and on that list was a spy thriller written by Warren Ellis called "Red" which is set to star action icon and all round legend Bruce Willis.

Well today Empire bring news that another legend in Morgan Freeman has joined the cast, here's what the good folks at their site have to say!

Morgan Freeman, lately in SouthAfrica playing Nelson Mandela in Clint Eastwood's Invictus, has signed up for something a little more action-packed next, with the news that he's going to star opposite Bruce Willis in spy thriller Red.

Based on the graphic novel byWarren Ellis, Red is the story of retired CIA operative Paul Moses (Willis), who's now living quietly following a career where he was sent around the world on all manner of 'wet' work. When a new CIADirector learns about what Paul did back in the day, he panics and sends assassins to remove the ex-agent once and for all, just to be sure that no one ever finds out what happened.

It's not clear yet what role Freeman would play, but given that the script by Erich and Jon Hoeber apparently includes a 'getting-the-old-gang-back-together-to-fight-back thread, we're guessing that Freeman may be a former ally.Either that, or he's the principal bad guy.

All sounds like gravy to me, for some guys it's dragons and sorcerers, for others it's men in costumes and for others it's any manner of sci fi, but for me it's espionage, I love those TV shows and movies where guys can walk into a room and know everything that happened in the blink of an eye, where they use phrases like "wet work" or "Back Channels" and you never once think of something sexual.

As mentioned there is no director so in case Brucie and Morgs are reading this, give Len Wiseman a holler, I mean Motorcade is moving so slowly through development I am beginning to think the terrorists have gotten it, so he'd be well up for this kind of tale, or if you want to go cheap there is probably some guy in Hong Kong that can nail this down for about a grand and the price an ace stunt team's catering.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - Posters!

Empire got the drop on the first posters for uber producer Jerry Bruckheimer's next big summer blockbuster "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time." The film isn't released until next summer (May 28, 2010) but you can check out the decidely un-Persian Jake Gyllenhaal doing his best wafty hair epic pose on the poster below. In the second you have Gemma Arterton doing some sultry staring, you may remember her from such epic roles as the oily girl in Quantum of Solace, or if you are a Lady a bunch of period piece stuff made for TV.

    "Whip it!" Trailer

Ahhh now this is more like it, after a bloated summer of average blockbusters that never lived up to the promise set up by Star Trek, we come to the time of year where the trailers start to arrive for the indie flicks and fall/winter thrillers, the films that fill their run time with characters, story and dialogue b/c they can't afford to blow up Egypt for 30 minutes.

One such potential gem is Drew Barrymore's directorial debut "Whip it!" starring the mega talented Ellen Page. This trailer gives a pretty good outline of the basic premise and the humour that will be on offer, to me this looks like it will be a funny and warm hearted movie filled with entertaining characters.

For Page it flips her most famous role Juno on it's head, here she is portraying an outcast "Same as Juno" you may yell, but Juno was an outcast by choice, she was comfotable with who she was and excelled at being an outcast. Here Page is playing a character low on confidence, minus the acidic wit and simply looking to find a way to be comfortable with herself.

"Whip It!" opens on October 9th and you can check out the trailer below.
