Boston Statues Get Masked For Horror Film "You're Next"

An example of very smart viral marketing is taking place in my city. Various statues around Boston are being adorned with the unsettling masks from the various killers found in the upcoming horror film You're Next. From Bobby Orr to Make Way For Ducklings, no statue in the Boston area is safe.

Check out the photos below and You're Next in theaters August 23rd.

One of the smartest and most terrifying films in years, YOU'RE NEXT reinvents the genre by putting a fresh twist on home-invasion horror. When a gang of masked, ax-wielding murderers descend upon the Davison family reunion, the hapless victims seem trapped...until an unlikely guest of the family proves to be the most talented killer of all.

Poster For "Her" Or As I Call It "Electric Dreams" Reboot

Set in Los Angeles, slightly in the future, Her follows Theodore Twombly, a complex, soulful man who makes his living writing touching, personal letters for other people. Heartbroken after the end of a long relationship, he becomes intrigued with a new, advanced operating system, which promises to be an intuitive entity in its own right, individual to each user. Upon initiating it, he is delighted to meet "Samantha," a bright, female voice, who is insightful, sensitive and surprisingly funny. As her needs and desires grow, in tandem with his own, their friendship deepens into an eventual love for each other. From the unique perspective of Oscar-nominated filmmaker Spike Jonze comes an original love story that explores the evolving nature—and the risks—of intimacy in the modern world.

Mark Lone’s "The Secret of Nimh" Poster Revealed

Wow. This is really taking me back. Making me feel old and nostalgic at the same time, or is that actually the same thing? The Secret Of Nimh both frightened me and fascinated me at the same time when I was a child. To see reimagined print poster at this point in my life makes me want to set up a viewing of the flick again.

Mark Lone: "Being a fan of 80′s animation, I must admit, I wore out my VHS tape of The Secret of NIMH, my favorite Don Bluth movie. I learned so much during the process of making this piece while studying as much as I could from the movie concept sketches and character designs (some even by Don himself). I realized after starting this print that I have always drawn owls (and I have drawn a few of owls) very dark and ominous, much like “the great owl”… it was at that point I recognized how much this movie had impacted my artistic style subconsciously, even when I was a kid. So thank you to everyone involved with the making of such a great movie."

"All Is Lost" Trailer Starring Robert Redford

Academy Award winner Robert Redford stars in All Is Lost, an open-water thriller about one man's battle for survival against the elements after his sailboat is destroyed at sea. Written and directed by Academy Award nominee J.C. Chandor (Margin Call) with a musical score by Alex Ebert (Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros), the film is a gripping, visceral and powerfully moving tribute to ingenuity and resilience. Deep into a solo voyage in the Indian Ocean, an unnamed man (Redford) wakes to find his 39-foot yacht taking on water after a collision with a shipping container left floating on the high seas. With his navigation equipment and radio disabled, the man sails unknowingly into the path of a violent storm. Despite his success in patching the breached hull, his mariner's intuition, and a strength that belies his age, the man barely survives the tempest.

Using only a sextant and nautical maps to chart his progress, he is forced to rely on ocean currents to carry him into a shipping lane in hopes of hailing a passing vessel. But with the sun unrelenting, sharks circling and his meager supplies dwindling, the ever-resourceful sailor soon finds himself staring his mortality in the face.

Could Jeffrey Dean Morgan Be Up For Batman?

Part of the fun of an upcoming blockbuster film, especially a comic book movie, is following the casting process. Rumors swirl all over the place, from the depths of fan sites like Batman-On-Film to the glossy front pages of the biggest mega entertainment sites like Hollywood Reporter. Fans in comments sections and forums argue and debate but when it's all said and done, the part could go to the first name reported or none of the names at all.

Since The Brothers Warner dropped the bomb at Comic Con that the Man Of Steel sequel would feature Batman, journalist and bloggers have been tapping their sources trying to dig up anything on the possible new Batman candidates. Battling to be the first to come up with a name, any name. Batman-On-Film won that battle reporting that the studio was looking for an older Batman, "Like mid-40s older". The site revealed a long list of possible contenders; Josh Duhamel, Jude Law, Gerard Butler, Josh Brolin, Jon Hamm, Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck, and Jim Caviezel.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Warner Bros was keen on an older Batman and that Brolin was indeed a top Batman hopeful along with Ryan Gosling. Man Of Steel runner up Joe Manganiello, Thorin of The Hobbit fame Richard Armitage, Watchmen's Matthew Goode, and Max Martini rounded out the short list. Latino Review added Gerard Butler to that list soon after and we're going to include one more name. In addition to the aforementioned Matthew Goode, We're hearing that that another Watchmen alum is a contender for Batman.

    Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The actor is taking a meeting with Zach Snyder for the role of Batman. This doesn't mean he is a lock for the part but Morgan was rock solid as Comedian in Zack Snyder's Watchmen and a little familiarity doesn't hurt. The actor seems to have an eerily similar look to other names previously listed such as Jon Hamm. Passing by Josh Brolin he would be the oldest candidate at 47 years old. You can now see Morgan on Magic City, a TV series that centers on Miami mobsters and other characters from Miami Beach in the late 1950s. Starz has decided not to pick up the series after two seasons.

"The Wizard of Oz" Hollywood 3D IMAX Premiere

In celebration of the 75th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz, Warner Bros., IMAX Corporation and the TCL Chinese Theatre have teamed up to host the world premiere of the film’s first-ever IMAX 3D release at the new TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX in Hollywood on Sept. 15, followed by an exclusive one-week IMAX engagement at the new theatre and IMAX theatres across North America beginning Sept. 20.

Tickets for all showings of The Wizard of Oz: An IMAX 3D Experience at the IMAX TCL Chinese Theatre are on sale now at www.tclchinesetheatres.com.

After a summer hiatus, the TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX will reopen as IMAX's largest auditorium in the world in terms of seating capacity and the first IMAX theatre in Hollywood. It will be equipped with all of the elements of The IMAX Experience, including ground-breaking, crystal-clear digital projection, cutting-edge sound technology and a curved screen spanning from floor to ceiling and wall to wall, providing moviegoers visiting this historic site the world’s most immersive cinematic experience. The Theatre’s world-renowned forecourt, featuring the handprints and footprints of 250-plus Hollywood legends, remains the area’s top attraction and draws as many visitors a year as the Sistine Chapel.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to host the premiere of 'The Wizard of Oz' in IMAX 3D,” says Alwyn Hight Kushner, President and COO, TCL Chinese Theatres. “This film and the TCL Chinese Theatre are among the best-known and most-beloved icons of Hollywood filmmaking, and, of course, the amazing IMAX technology represents the future of moviegoing.”

The Wizard of Oz has many historic ties to the TCL Chinese Theatre. Composer Harold Arlen, desperate to write a song for the Dorothy Kansas sequence, sought refuge in the Chinese Theatre one evening and, en route, was inspired to write the iconic “Over The Rainbow.” The film had its original Hollywood premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Aug. 15, 1939, and the film's “Dorothy” - Judy Garland - was the honoree for the 50th handprint footprint ceremony in the theatre’s famous forecourt in 1939.

“This is the perfect way to launch the opening of the new TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX - with the IMAX premiere of one of the most beloved films of all time in the venue in which it premiered 75 years ago,” said Greg Foster, CEO of IMAX Entertainment and Senior Executive Vice President, IMAX Corporation. “It is truly exciting to be part of this special occasion alongside two of the most iconic brands in Hollywood and we look forward to offering moviegoers an experience they will never forget.”

“We couldn’t be happier to partner with IMAX as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of this iconic film,” said Dan Fellman, President, Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures. “'The Wizard of Oz' IMAX 3D Experience is an integral part of our studio-wide 90th anniversary initiative and we are excited to give fans the rare opportunity to see this stunning version on the big screen.”

The IMAX release of The Wizard of Oz will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX 3D Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

Following the IMAX theatrical release, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) will release a limited and numbered The Wizard of Oz 75th Anniversary Collector’s Edition on Oct. 1. The Collector’s Edition will debut as a five-disc set that will include Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and UltraViolet versions of the film; a new documentary, "The Making of 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'"; bonus features and premium collectibles ($105.43 SRP). New exclusive collectible 75th Anniversary memorabilia includes deluxe pin set from The Noble Collection , 52-page hardcover photo book, Ruby Slippers Sparkle Globe, hard covered journal, a Map of Oz, and more. Three more editions will be available separately: a two-disc Blu-ray 3D / Blu-ray ($35.99 SRP), a one-disc Blu-ray ($19.98 SRP) and a two-disc DVD ($16.95 SRP). All four will contain the new documentary and extra content.

"Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" Brings Humor To EW Cover

Not many comedies justify a sequel but I feel like Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy fits into that category. Comedies are usually fairly cheap to make and even when they get roasted critically, they can still make some bank. I'm looking at you Grown Ups 2.

Really looking forward to this one, I'll have to cease my "Won't See Comedies In Theaters" motto.Check out the Entertainment Weekly Fall Preview featuring the major players of the sequel.

With the 70′s behind him, San Diego’s top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), returns to the news desk in “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.”  Also back for more are Ron’s co-anchor and wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), weather man Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), man on the street Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner) – All of whom won’t make it easy to stay classy…while taking New York’s first 24-hour news channel by storm.
