New Footage Of The Avengers Shown At NYCC

We only just got the trailer but Marvel delivered more footage from their biggest release to date at the New York Comic Con.

The bulk of the footage was actually a recruitment scene between Black Widow and Banner which sounds very good.

Description courtesy of Geeks of Doom, also click the lnik to read some of the Q&A from the Marvel panel.

New footage was shown that centers around Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner, who is in hiding overseas (in what looks like India). He’s tricked into an ambush by Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow. “For a man trying to avoid stress, you picked a hell of a place to hide,” she tells him. He assumes the place is surrounded by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, but she assures him it’s just the two of them there. Banner wonders how they found him. “We never lost you,” she replies.

S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Nick Fury sent her to get Banner, because they need his help with something and he trusts Fury. “What if I say ‘no’?” he asks. “I’ll persuade you,” she responds. “What if the other guy says no?,” referring to the Hulk. “You’ve been two years without an incident, I don’t think you want to break that streak,” she says.

She goes on to explain that the Tesseract, which has the potential to “wipe out the planet,” has been taken and that the gamma signals used to track it are too weak. Since Banner is an expert in gamma radiation, that’s why they need him. Banner thinks that Fury wants him “in a cage” and starts to lose his temper and goes at her and she pulls a gun on him. He backs away as she holds the gun at him, obviously in fear of what could happen. “I’m sorry that’s mean,” Banner apologizes, trying to get her to put down the gun. As she does, she issues a command into a communicate: “Stand down.” We then see the outside of the place is actually surrounded by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. “Just you and me?,” Banner says.

The scene ends and a montage of footage from the movie is shown. We see Stark Industries with Tony Stark talking about The Avengers. This is intercut with Iron Man flying and some fighting action. Tony Stark talks to Loki, who says “I have an army.” Stark with the group, he playfully pokes Banner and says “You really do have a hold on this.” [He said some other stuff, but the crowd was screaming too loud to hear it.]

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Launch TV Spot

This is the one, more so than even Arkham City and Gears of War 3, this is the game I am most looking forward to this year. The series is basically a true modern Indiana Jones and like playing the best summer blockbuster never made.

    The Batwing Will Really Fly!?

Ok, not fly literally but these pics were snapped on set last night of the Batwing hanging high above the city from a helicopter. Now sources say it lands on the rooftop for a scene, whether Nolan is actually filming it flying there or if these are just shots of it being airlifted to the location for the scene is unknown.

Most likely it is the latter but with Nolan's love of shooting as much for real as possible you can't rule the possibility out altogether that he is going for something very ambitious.

The images were posted at the SHH boards with links to each pic taker there.

    Images From Catwoman Short Film

I've seen a mixed bag of reviews for DC animations latest effort 'Batman Year One'. Most of the criticism seems to be towards the voice acting apart from Bryan Cranston's Commissioner Gordon.

At any rate one of the extras on the DVD and Blu Ray is a 15 minute short film simply titled 'Catwoman' and Superherohype.com got hold of these new images from the short.

    Act of Valor Trailer

Yahoo! Movies has debuted the trailer for 'Act Of Valor', I didn't know about the movie until I saw this trailer and what makes it unique is the lead actors are active duty Navy Seals.

The film may seem a standard action movie from the plot, but take a look at the trailer, the footage that has been captured is stunning, featuring the latest in Navy Seals tactics and operations yet it still looks like a film, this is no documentary, it's shot with style but also a raw authenticity which is a rare blend.

The film opens February 17th 2012 and you can see the trailer below.

When the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative leads to the discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the U.S., a team of SEALs is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. As the valiant men of Bandito Platoon race to stop a coordinated attack that could kill and wound thousands of American civilians, they must balance their commitment to country, team and their families back home.

New Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Posters

With the success of the first movie this eagerly anticipated sequel is almost certain be one of the big hits of the Christmas period, especially with Holmes nemesis Moriarty as the main villain.

Yahoo! Movies have debuted two new posters from the movie, one of Holmes and one of Watson. I think the Holmes one is particularly good, even though as someone that has read all of the books, I don't recall Holmes hardly ever using a gun, let alone a Mauser.

Die Hard 5 Will Be Titled A Good Day to Die Hard?

I love this franchise, John McClane is one of my favourite characters and Bruce Wills one of my favourite actors, despite being PG-13 I personally felt Len Wiseman's 'Live Free or Die Hard' was the best of the sequels, but sadly he decided not to come back for another movie and John Moore was recently chosen to take over the directors chair, not a popular choice with myself or most fans.

Now we have a title and news from /film that shines some light on the 5th Die Hard, the release date in particular should set alarm bells off.

Tom Rothman, co-chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fox Filmed Entertainment, appeared on Jim Rome this morning to announce the future of the Die Hard franchise. Apparently Rome is a huge fan of the Die Hard series and somehow scored the exclusive. Details can be found after the jump.

    Here is what was revealed:

    • Die Hard 5 will be titled A Good Day to Die Hard
    • Shooting begins in January 2012
    • The sequel will be released on February 14th, 2013 (Valentine’s Day).
    • The story is set in Russia and begins with John McClane heading to Moscow to sweet talk some cops into letting his apparently-wayward son out of jail for something he did, but when he gets there, things surrounding his son’s arrest are not as they appear and world-threatening terrorist hijinks ensue.
    • McClane, Jr. has yet to be cast.
    • They still don’t know if it will be rated PG-13 or R.

    Darth Maul Lives!

Regardless of your feelings on the prequel trilogy the one thing most agree on is that the best thing about The Phantom Menace was Sith apprentice Darth Maul, the shot of him with the dual bladed Lightsaber probably ranks as the greatest "Holy shit!" moneyshot in trailer history......and now he's back!

EW.com got the scoop that he will return this Spring in the awesome Clone Wars animated series, below is the video preview for his return.

The above EW articles features comments from Clone Wars supervising director Dave Filoni and theories on how a Darth Maul resurrection may be possible. However neither mention the admittedly non-canon Visionaries story that features Darth Maul with cybernetic legs hunting Obi Wan Kenobi on Tattooine post-Revenge of the Sith, this is the direction I am hoping they go.
