    Trailer For "The Thing"

The trailer for "The Thing courtesy of the good people over at MSN

    <a href='http://movies.msn.com/movies/movie-trailers/#/video/f749b83d-e1d0-4983-a918-a9c3914b03c0' target='_new' title='&#39;The Thing&#39; Movie Trailer' >Video: &#39;The Thing&#39; Movie Trailer</a>

Antarctica: an extraordinary continent of awesome beauty. It is also home to an isolated outpost where a discovery full of scientific possibility becomes a mission of survival when an alien is unearthed by a crew of international scientists. The shape-shifting creature, accidentally unleashed at this marooned colony, has the ability to turn itself into a perfect replica of any living being. It can look just like you or me, but inside, it remains inhuman. In the thriller "The Thing," paranoia spreads like an epidemic among a group of researchers as they're infected, one by one, by a mystery from another planet.

Paleontologist Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has traveled to the desolate region for the expedition of her lifetime. Joining a Norwegian scientific team that has stumbled across an extraterrestrial ship buried in the ice, she discovers an organism that seems to have died in the crash eons ago. But it is about to wake up.

When a simple experiment frees the alien from its frozen prison, Kate must join the crew's pilot, Carter (Joel Edgerton), to keep it from killing them off one at a time. And in this vast, intense land, a parasite that can mimic anything it touches will pit human against human as it tries to survive and flourish.

"The Thing" serves as a prelude to John Carpenter's classic 1982 film of the same name.

A Web Of "The Amazing Spider-Man" Photos

I was wondering when we would finally see some more promo shots or footage from "The Amazing Spider-Man" while talking shop with Jamie, now we have this.

I have to say, I really like the look of this version of the suit. Still has that classic look to it, but the colors pop and there is a modern edge to it. They did a good job making it different but keeping it in the same ballpark as we've seen previously on film. The colors really pop.

Enjoy the highly detailed shots below courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.

"Man Of Steel" Producers To Dominate Highways In Illinois

Good to see Superman back in the land of webmasters and forum dwellers again, although I'm not sure the general public knows a new Superman film is being worked on just yet.

According to the My Web Times in Illinois The Brothers Warner have filed for 34 special road permits with the Dept. Of Transportation in Northern Lasalle County.

I have no idea where any of this is, but I would have to say this might be the biggest thing to happen in this area since Sammy Sosa stopped there to buy gas while passing through to Wrigley Field one Summer afternoon.

Josh Kauffman of IDOT in Springfield told The Times Tuesday producers have requested to use a portion of U.S. 34 north of Mendota for filming later this summer or early fall. Kauffman does not know what the highway scenes would entail.

The Valley Free Press in DeKalb reports Plano Mayor Bob Hausler and Bill Doyle of Warner Bros. will be the special guests at the opening of the Plano United Methodist Church farmers' market Saturday, July 16.

Doyle is the supervising location manager for Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, "Man of Steel," which will be filming its Smallville scenes in Plano in the coming weeks. Doyle also worked on such films as "Star Trek," "2012" and most recently, "Green Lantern."

Hausler and Doyle are expected to field questions about the movie production being filmed in Plano, and find out how the city was selected to portray fictional Smallville.

Interesting. I wonder if Doyle and Hausler will answer any juicy questions or will there will be softballs thrown up there for them to crush over the cornfields?

Can't wait to see Kevin Costner returning to the familiar fields of corn that he previously owned during "Field of Dreams" Wonder how long it is before he shows up with Cavill and the luscious Diane Lane? August at the lastest I hope.

Peter Jackson & Friends Sit In A Hobbit's House

One thing that really loved about the production during "Superman Returns" was Bryan Singer's video blogs. I think they really helped increase but satisfy the appetite of the fans. Peter Jackson, who actually appeared in one of Singer's blogs while filming "King Kong", is doing the same thing with "Hobbit".

    Batman Goes To College

Considering all the pains that The Nolan Machine takes to keep whatever is going on during his Batman productions within the inner circle, it is interesting to see the powers that be at Carnegie Mellon spill such a big amount of beans.

I know this is just an innocent warning to the faculty and students but I was waiting for the school blog to be taken offline and a giant picture of Nolan wearing a Riddler mask to be strewn across the page. Check out the description of some possible meaty scenes. For those who don't want to be spoiled don't look down. Spoilers begin after the Nolan pose.

Carnegie Mellon will once again play host to Hollywood, when several scenes for a major motion picture by Warner Bros., currently using the working title “Magnus Rex,” are filmed outside of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) in late July, and inside and outside of the Mellon Institute in early August. Carnegie Mellon is working closely with the production company to ensure that the university and its students, faculty and staff will benefit from the movie-making experience with minimal disruption to normal operations.
Here's the skinny on the filming dates, the scenes and parking and traffic restrictions.

    Where and When

Scenes will be filmed outside the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at the intersection of Dithridge and Henry streets from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, July 30-31.
Scenes will be filmed outside of the Mellon Institute on the Fifth Ave. side from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday, July 31, and inside of the Mellon Institute's fourth-floor entrance lobby on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 3-4.

Prep work for the filming will be taking place in both locations beginning July 11.

Scenes outside the SEI, which will be portrayed as a prison, will include an explosion, a prison break, precision stunt driving, gunfire, atmospheric smoke, and controlled pyrotechnic explosions.

Scenes outside the Fifth Ave. entrance of Mellon Institute include a standoff between two rivals that escalates into a riot. One character drives a motorcycle through the fourth floor lobby, out the front doors and down the steps onto Fifth Ave. Special effects include precision stunt driving, gunfire and atmospheric smoke.

Two "Sherlock Holmes: Game Of Shadows" Posters

I didn't realize how excited I was for this sequel until I just saw these two posters courtesy of Yahoo Movies. The Brothers Warner has provided fandom with two posters from "Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows" proudly displaying Downey in character as Holmes and Law in character as Watson.

Dare I say it? I liked Downey in the role of Sherlock Holmes better than his turn as Iron Man. I can't wait to see where they take the sequel. Check out the colorful and in your face posters below.

Superman: Man Of Steel Planet Houston Photos

Nice to start seeing some Superman news again. Starting to feel like 2004-2005 all over again, just not as geeked up for some reason. I know that will change once we start getting some official photos and videos though.

A user on SupermanHomePage has been creeping and crawling around Plano, Illinois snapping pictures from the set of "Superman: Man of Steel". Whomever you are, if Younnis isn't paying you for the shots, we will. I have no shame.

Here is a building that looks like it was bungled in some sort of super battle or mother nature inspired disaster. These are just a couple of pictures. Head over to SupermanHomePage for more photos from the set.

Looks like this could possibly be some of the Smallville set. Not sure if they using an actual street for the exteriors and maybe just building replicas of the buildings to represent the destroyed versions or actually creating an entire street themselves.

It's possible that this is a nod to "Superman For All Seasons" when a tornado strikes Smallville and Clark has to save the day. Another possibility is that this is a flashback sequence of when Clark landed in Smallville during a meteor shower.

Let's hope its not Zod showing up on "Planet Houston" and bending guns.

    "Horrible Bosses" Red Band Trailer

    <a href='http://http%3A%2F%2Fmovies.msn.com%2Fmovies%2Fmovie-trailers%2F%23%2Fvideo%2F84727385-377b-4831-ae10-f438e79adc3f' target='_new' title='&#39;Horrible Bosses&#39; Trailer (Mature Audiences)' >Video: &#39;Horrible Bosses&#39; Trailer (Mature Audiences)</a>

The only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable for Nick (Jason Bateman), Kurt (Jason Sudeikis) and Dale (Charlie Day) would be to grind their intolerable bosses (Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Aniston) into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con (Jamie Foxx), the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers...permanently. There's only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them.

The Last "Transformers 3" TV Spot

The Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide and Sideswipe led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009's Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There's new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime Transformers character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.
