Thomas Lennon Talks Harold & Kumar 3

The third installment in the Harold & Kumar franchise titled A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas 3D is currently filming in Michigan for a now confirmed holiday 2011 release date. Collider was lucky enough to sit down with one of the new cast members joining the franchise. Thomas Lennon (Reno 911!) revealed the release date confirmation as well as a ton of other awesome plot details.

In reference to the use of 3D in the film which is a rare occurrence in comedies Lennon gave great explanations:

"I hope they make people sign some kind of waiver because if their mind explodes from my acting in 3D, it’s not my fault. Never has there been a comedy where so many bongs and boners and boobs get pointed out right into your face.

"This is a film that is begging to be in 3D. In fact, if it weren’t in 3D, I wonder if it would be getting made at all, but certain …you know this was a movie that was just waiting for the technology to catch up."

"I think when people Harold and Kumar in 3D it’s going to be a full visceral experience not unlike seeing Avatar with a bunch of dudes smoking pot and some naked nuns taking a shower, which is what I believe they’re filming today. In fact I know for a fact that’s what they’re filming today because I happen to not be on-set today and it’s kind of a bummer."

He also described the new character he'll be playing in the film. He's Harolds new best friend and refers to his character as the anti-Kumar. If you're not aware already the film takes place six years later when Harold and Kumar are no longer friends. He also added:

"he is a douchey, uptight white person which is something that I really truly excel at on my resume. Douchey, vaguely kind of creepy, uptight honky."

"The film begins and I am the new Kumar. And I think the intention is that the audience be wildly disappointed that Harold’s new best friend is me."

Confirming a bit of somewhat obvious news he also confirmed there would be an extreme amount of pot and nudity, as expected.

"I think I can say that…without there being too many spoiler alerts, there’s a tremendous amount of pot in the movie and a lot of nudity. And I’m a part of some of it, yes."

Well with everything we already knew and now with the reassuring info from Lennon this sounds all kinds of awesome. Not that I expected anything less of this franchise. For the full interview go HERE.

    First Trailer "Jack Ass 3D"

Those stupid bastards are back at it again, and this time in 3D! Everyone from the Jackass crew has returned for Jack Ass 3D. From the trailer this looks like the most ridiculous and likely hilarious installment yet. I can only imagine how the port-a-potty sling shot turns out, especially in 3D.

Look for the Jackasses to be flying at you in 3D on October 15.

Will Ferrell Joining Spanish Speaking Comedy

According to a press release from NALA Films via comingsoon Comedian and actor Will Ferrell is being extorted or blackmailed depending on who you ask into starring in a Spanish speaking comedy. When I first read the statement it sounded like a joke, and then I read the statement from producer Gary Sanchez. I don't know the extent of the lawsuit or their history together, but Sanchez sounds like a real asshole.

Opening this Friday you can see Will in The Other Guys, a comedy he wasn't forced into doing.

Below is the actual Press Release:

Emilio Diez Barroso and Darlene Caamano Loquet of NALA Films announced that they are teaming up with Will Farrell, Adam McKay, Kevin Messick and Jessica Elbaum of Gary Sanchez Productions to produce the Spanish-language comedy, Casa De Mi Padre ("House of My Father"), starring Will Ferrell. NALA Films is fully financing the project which is set to start shooting this September in California

Will Ferrell's participation in the project is not entirely based on his connection with the material. Rather, he was embroiled in a pending lawsuit against Gary Sanchez. Ferrell's participation is part of a closed-door settlement between both parties. Further details were not disclosed.

Gary Sanchez issued the following statement regarding the resolution with Ferrell, "What comes around, goes around, Will Ferrell."

According to producer Darlene Caamano Loquet, "NALA can't comment regarding the circumstances surrounding why Will is attached to the project. We are just thrilled he is on board and are moving full steam ahead since we have one month to teach him Spanish."

Harold and Kumar: White Castle Inception

I found a hilarious Harold and Kumar trailer re-done with Inception audio, and it actually works pretty damn good. As we speak a third Harold and Kumar film is actually being filmed for a holiday release either this year or next, no date has been set as of yet. The newest installment in the franchise will be called Harold and Kumar a Very Merry Christmas. For more details on the sequel you can go HERE.

Until an official trailer is released we at least have this to enjoy!

    New Clip "The Expendables"

Lionsgate has released a new clip from their upcoming 80's action-fest The Expendables starring writer director Stallone himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, and Jet Li, Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, and Steve Austin.

Besides a simple fuck yeah, not a lot can be said about the clip which reveals very little of the actual plot. I personally can't wait for The Expendables the same as I'm sure anyone else who either grew up in or was around during the 80's action genre would feel the same. The greatest thing about action movies from that era is they never let a little thing like story or plot get in the way of the senseless violence and action.

Teaser trailer "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark"

Miramax has released the teaser trailer for the upcoming horror remake Don't Be Afraid of the Dark from writer/producer Guillermo del Toro starring Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison.

The film centers on a young girl (Madison), sent to live with her father (Peirce) and his new girlfriend (Holmes), who discovers sinister creatures that live underneath the stairs. the girl is fascinated by the creatures, until they prove dangerous. Her father is an author who's frustrated by his daughter's tales of monsters, he doesn't believe her even after his girlfriend reassures him the creatures are real.

Hard to tell from the trailer, but this looks pretty damn awesome. Not very often does a horror remake come along that does the original justice or gives you a new spin on the legend, Del Toro is one smart man.

    Two Tv Spots "The American"

Two Tv spots have been released online for Focus Features upcoming film The American starring George Clooney, Violante Placido, Thekla Reuten, Irina Björklund, and Bruce Altman.

Academy Award winner George Clooney stars in the title role of this suspense thriller, filmed on location in Italy. Alone among assassins, Jack (played by Mr. Clooney) is a master craftsman. When a job in Sweden ends more harshly than expected for this American abroad, he vows to his contact Larry (Bruce Altman) that his next assignment will be his last.

Jack reports to the Italian countryside, where he holes up in a small town and relishes being away from death for a spell. The assignment, as specified by a Belgian woman, Mathilde (Thekla Reuten of "In Bruges"), is in the offing as a weapon is constructed. Surprising himself, Jack seeks out the friendship of local priest Father Benedetto (Italian stage and screen veteran Paolo Bonacelli) and pursues romance with local woman Clara (Italian leading lady Violante Placido). But by stepping out of the shadows, Jack may be tempting fate.

    The Other Guys Featurette

Those lucky bastards at Comic Con this last weekend got to see everything it seems. Lucky for us a lot of it has been released online, like this featurette for The Other Guys.

The film stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as a pair of desk-bound cops who decide to take on a major case and prove they’re as good as the department’s super-star detectives (played by Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson).

Detective Allen Gamble is a forensic accountant who’s more interested in paperwork than hitting the streets. Detective Terry Hoitz is a tough guy who has been stuck with Allen as his partner ever since an unfortunate run-in with Derek Jeter. Allen and Terry idolize the city’s top cops, Danson and Highsmith, but when an opportunity arises for the Other Guys to step up, things don’t quite go as planned.

If you don't find this hilarious you're broken. Check back this Wednesday for my review!
