Comic-Con Posters for Thor & Captain America!

Let's hope the final products look equally (if not more so) epic as these. Granted, we're talking about concept art. How often does the actual movie look better then that?

Yahoo! Movies has a "First Look" at these Comic-Con posters for Captain America and Thor.

If you happen to be attending this week, you better get your hands on these cool looking li'l bastards ASAP. No doubt, they'll have sold out of these in minutes. Something tells me Phil is drooling at these as we speak.

Joseph Gordon Levitt on a bicycle!

That's a money headline if ever I wrote one, but never fear TMT readers the awesome Mr Levitt is not just riding a bicycle for the sake of it or for healthy reasons, he's filming his new movie "Premium Rush" for director David Koepp who is best know for penning stuff for Steven Spielberg.

The story centers on a bike messenger played by JGL (get with it folks!) who through his job comes into possession of an envelope that a dirty cop (Michael Shannon) wants to stop being delivered at any cost, Friedkin style chases across New York City are promised!

JGL is a fantastic talent (those that only got on the bandwagon due to inception go and rent Brick and The Lookout asap!) and I hope this move into more mainstream fare is a success for him, personally I'm looking forward to this, it's a simple concept but if executed well it could be the same kind of adrenaline rush summer blockbuster as Speed.

Just Jared grabbed the below pic along with a bunch of others from yesterday's shoot.

UltraViolet Digital Content & The Companies That Support It

The Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem LLC (DECE LLC), a cross-industry consortium dedicated to driving a new, open market for digital content distribution, today announced its consumer brand – UltraViolet™ – and logo (UVVU.com). UltraViolet represents a new way for consumers to have greater choice, confidence and freedom in how, when and where they enjoy digital movies, TV shows and other entertainment. In addition, the consortium announced three additional new members bringing the total to nearly 60 member companies.

Complementing the physical DVD and Blu-ray home entertainment markets, UltraViolet will allow consumers to watch their digital entertainment across multiple platforms, such as connected TVs, PCs, game consoles, smartphones and tablet PCs, in an easy, consistent way. Since all UltraViolet offerings will work together, consumers will be able to select which products and devices they prefer from a spectrum of familiar companies – ranging from major studios to consumer electronics companies to cable, web and other service providers. In addition, the UltraViolet name and logo will help identify entertainment products and services designed to work together seamlessly.

“The introduction of the UltraViolet brand is another important step towards the consumer launch of UltraViolet products and services,” said Mitch Singer, DECE president and CTO of Sony Pictures Entertainment. “Our goal is to firmly establish UltraViolet as the symbol for digital entertainment – one that gives consumers the freedom of access wherever they are, the confidence of knowing how it will work and the broadest choice of content, stores and devices.”

The UltraViolet experience will be powered by a cloud-based UltraViolet Account, which will include a Digital Rights Locker and account management functionality. Consumers will be able to create an UltraViolet Account, free of charge, via one of the many participating UltraViolet service providers or through the UltraViolet website. Once created, this Account will allow consumers to easily access and manage all of their UltraViolet entertainment, regardless of where it was purchased.

Technical specifications and licensing details for companies who wish to offer UltraViolet content, services and devices, are expected this year.

DECE also announced the addition of LG Electronics, LOVEFiLM and Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. to the consortium. These companies join DECE’s already strong group which include world leaders across a wide range of industries.

Larry Charles Directing Jim Carrey Comedy Pierre Pierre

Legendary Seinfeld alum Larry Charles (also responsible for directing Borat and Bruno) will try to "bring back the funny" for Jim Carrey.

Anyone remember the last time audiences found his shtick amusing? I guess, Bruce Almighty, and that was seven (!?) years back. My five-old-niece has no idea who he is, and I remember a time when every kid alive was imitating his Dumb & Dumber (and to a lesser degree Ace Ventura) routine*.

"TOLDJA" says Charles will direct Pierre Pierre for Carrey who will play a wacky Frenchman (Aren't they all onscreen?) transporting a stolen painting from Paris to London. Along the way, he'll in all probability run into equally, if not more so, over-the-top characters, an antagonist changing him, and how about a love interest for him too?

If it weren't for Charles, my interest in this would be non-existent. Then again, this was originally set up two years ago with Jason Reitman. Perhaps this is chuckle-heavy.

*Yes, I was one of them.

Sam Raimi Attached to Direct Earp: Saints for Sinners

Sam Raimi will be spending the next year prepping his next Disney's Oz, the Great and Powerful and continuing the writing process on Warcraft. But that isn’t going to stop him from lining up work down-the-line.

Heat Vision says Raimi is attached to direct Earp: Saints for Sinners for DreamWorks:

"The film and graphic novel re-imagines Earp — best known for the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, where he fought alongside his two brothers and compadre Doc Holliday — set in a future in which he takes on outlaws in a ravaged society where the only boomtown left is Las Vegas."

He's no stranger to the Western genre with The Quick & the Dead. Needless to say this isn't a repeat of that under-rated romp. When this would get going is anyone's guess.

Honestly it sounds like something he'll end up not doing or just stay onboard as a producer. Personally, I'd love to see Raimi return for a smaller character-study like A Simple Plan or The Gift.

It’s modern day South Africa and in Cape Town the beautiful Ayanda (Zandile Msutwana) is just days away from achieving her lifelong dream: the perfect white wedding. The only problem is that her husband-to-be, the loyal, committed Elvis (Kenneth Nkosi) is 1800 kilometres away in Johannesburg. He sets off on Tuesday night by bus to Durban intending to connect with his childhood friend and best-man Tumi (Rapulana Seiphemo). But the plans start to go awry when Tumi doesn't show up at the bus station. Not an auspicious beginning, but this is just the first in many comic and illuminating misadventures they meet along the way. In the end, the two lovers learn that celebrating their union is more about the journey than getting to the church on time.

She has written and directed hundreds of hours of television including TRUTH COMMISSION- SPECIAL REPORT and HARD COPY. Teaser Trailer "Faster"

CBS Films has released the teaser trailer for Faster, opening November 24 and starring Dwayne Johnson, Billy Bob Thornton, Carla Gugino, Maggie Grace, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Moon Bloodgood.

Not to be confused with Fast & Furious 5 which also stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Faster actually looks and sounds all kinds of awesome! If you watch this trailer and you don't think holy fuck, fuck yeah! You're broken.

 Here's the synopsis:

A stint in prison usually has one of two effects on a man – it either breaks him down or makes him stronger. For Driver (Dwayne Johnson), a 10-year sentence proved the latter. His strength was not just fueled by time, but also by a hunger to avenge the murder of his brother during the botched bank robbery that led to his own imprisonment. Untouchable on the 'inside,' he made plenty of enemies in prison - men who were counting the days until his release so they could exact their own revenge on the outside. Now, on the day of his release, he is hell-bent on reaping vengeance upon the four men responsible for his brother's murder. With a list of names and addresses in hand, he sprints out of the prison gates and is immediately on his mission.

No regard for witnesses. No finesse to the acts. One down. Check. Within hours of Driver eliminating the first name on the list, two men are on his trail – Cop (Billy Bob Thornton), a veteran police officer just days from retirement, and Killer (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), a young egocentric hitman with a flair for the art of killing. The hunter is now also the hunted.

Without hesitation, Driver methodically continues down his list while the mystery deepens surrounding his brother's murder and who might have tipped off those responsible to their robbery plans. With each killing, Driver finds himself face to face with Cop or Killer and he evades them every time. Killer wants Driver now more than ever – he's finally met a worthy opponent. Thus begins a do or die race to the list's finish with new details in the decade old murder emerging along the way...hinting that Driver's list may be incomplete and his life in further danger.

Batman & Robin join "Arthur Remake"

Earlier this month the Batmobile from Batman Forever was spotted on the set of the comedy remake Arthur. Now it appears that Batman and Robin will also have cameos. Russell Brand and Luis Guzmán are dressed in full Batman and Robin gear on the NewYork set as seen in the pictures below. I don't know yet if this will comedic genius or down right stupid, time will tell.

The new Arthur follows a very rich, happy drunk who is told by his mother that he must marry the wealthy girl of her choosing or else lose his inheritance, just as he meets a poor girl and falls in love.

Taylor Lautner Was Looked At For X-Men: First Class

Wait, that was true?

The story originated from disgraced ex-Fox employee Roger Friedman who's been on-the-money with X-Men: First Class as of late. So I shouldn’t have doubted it.

Producer (and originally-intended director) Bryan Singer confirmed to Blastr the Twilight star was being eyed for a role in the soon-to-be-lensing prequel:

"I wanted Taylor [Lautner] to do it, I really did. He's doing a movie in Pittsburgh called Abduction and then he's got the next Twilight movie. We talked about it a lot, he is a friend, and I really wanted to make it work. It just doesn't look like it's possible to do it."

Lautner's been the only of the three Twilight leads to continue with studio fare outside that franchise. But him being in an X-Men movie? Doesn't strike me as the best idea to get a "flavor of the month" like him involved.

Either way, that's the least of First Class' problems. I think creatively it might surprise. Commercially speaking, it's an uphill battle after the last two X-Mens (The Last Stand and Wolverine) burned the general populous and fandom alike. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the only solid comic-book movie next summer.
