More "Scream 4" Pictures

I have no damn idea what why I have no feeling towards "Scream 4". If I had one, it is long gone. I've always been skeptical of it, I've always been weary of it, but now I feel nothing. I'm not excited, I'm not angry, I'm not disgusted, I'm just a guy writing to a bunch of people about how I've lost that lovin' feeling for Scream. While I think about my predicament enjoy some new stills from the upcoming slasher flick.

New Image Of Red Skull

An official image of Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull has found its way online courtesy of Entertaintment Weekly. The photo is accompanied by an interview with Weaving as he's asked about the politics of Captain America, the old 1990's "made-for-TV" movie, and why he chose to sign on for this particular film:

I’ve had other offers for movies like this and usually turned them down. To me there’s something less interesting about a guy who can fly, and throw tanks around, and stuff like that. The reason I wanted to do this one is he is so relatable. I can relate to him. Maybe it’s every kid’s dream to go into a pod and come out looking like Captain America. [Laughs] And you don’t even have to exercise or lift weights! It’s great.

Diane Lane Cast in Superman!

Warner Brothers announced today that Diane Lane has been cast as Martha Kent in the upcoming Superman film.  Here's the official press release.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Oscar®-nominated actress Diane Lane will play Martha Kent, the only mother Clark Kent has ever known, in the new Superman movie to be directed by Zack Snyder.

Snyder stated, “This was a very important piece of casting for me because Martha Kent is the woman whose values helped shape the man we know as Superman. We are thrilled to have Diane in the role because she can convey the wisdom and the wonder of a woman whose son has powers beyond her imagination.”

Lane will star with Henry Cavill, who was recently announced as the new Clark Kent/Superman.
Lane earned an Academy Award® nomination for her performance in the 2002 drama “Unfaithful.” She most recently starred in the family hit “Secretariat.” She next stars in the HBO feature “Cinema Verite,” opposite Tim Robbins and James Gandolfini. Lane’s long list of film credits also includes “Nights in Rodanthe,” “Hollywoodland,” “Must Love Dogs,” “Under the Tuscan Sun,” “Perfect Storm,” “My Dog Skip,” “Chaplin,” “The Cotton Club” and “A Little Romance,” to name only a portion.

Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder are the producers of the film. The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are serving as executive producers.

Slated for release in December 2012, the new Superman movie will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Personally I feel this is a very solid choice for the role. Couple this news with the rumored courting of both Viggo Mortensen and Daniel Day Lewis for the speculated role of General Zod. I certainly hope this reflects the level of talent they are looking for in casting the film.  It also seems to mirror a similar philosophy that was applied to the Batman franchise, by surrounding your lead with accomplished and professional actors. Here's hoping that this trend continues for the Man of Steel.

"The Avengers" Villains Revealed!

The fine folks over at Latino Review have the scoop on the villains in Marvels upcoming superhero team up extravaganza The Avengers! For the longest time now it's been rumoured that The Hulk would likely be the main antagonist, but that almost seemed too easy especially for how excited director Joss Whedon's been anytime he's asked to talk about the film.

Back in 2009 Marvel big shot Kevin Feige hinted at the possibility of The Skrulls appearing in the film, but like any major studio protecting the plot of their upcoming blockbuster the rumours were of course denied.

In my opinion, The Skrulls are really the only viable threat that would require so many super heroes to fight as a team. Sure, you could have The Hulk as a villain in the beginning, but then they have to come together for an even bigger threat. Something hinted about in IM2, Thor and Cap by Nick Fury's presence. Plus Fox doesn't have the rights to The Skrulls, only the Super Skrull. But this is just my inner geek thinking out loud and hoping.

Now we can say we know for a fact that not only will The Skrulls be one of the villains, but they'll also be accompanied by Thor's evil adoptive brother Loki who will use the Cosmic Cube to summon them. Loki is set to appear in Kenneth Branagh's THOR this May as played by Tom Hiddleston, and the Cosmic Cube is said to play an intricate part in Joe Johnston's Captain America this June. More or less they've done a nice job of tying the films together to form The Avengers, it's just a damn shame they ruined Iron Man 2 in the process, fuckers.

David Koepp is the Newest Writer for 'Men in Black III'

How much more bad news needs to come out about Men in Black III before we can circle it as Summer 2012's "biggest turkey?"

After initial delays with the film's production start date back in the fall (apparently due to Will Smith budding heads with the creative team), then an announcement that the film would have a planned hiatus until February so Jeff Nathanson (Rush Hour 2) could punch up the time travel scenes, then another announcement that shooting wouldn't start up again until the end of March, finally comes news today that David Koepp has been brought on to work on the script.

TOLDJA! reports Koepp (best known for Spider-Man, worst known for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) will work on the script for several weeks to have it ready for the 2nd phase of production.

What's that old saying?  You can't polish a turd?  Just ask McG about Terminator Salvation.

The plot of Men in Black III involves the movie’s villain (Jemaine Clement) traveling back in time to kill Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones), but that assassination will set off a chain of events that will destroy the world.  Agent J (Will Smith) must travel back in time to protect Agent K and the universe.

Despite all the production problems, the film is reportedly still on track for its May 25th, 2012 release date.

I know, why else wouldn't it be?  That's over a year away.

The Dark Knight Rises Plot Revealed!

It's not exactly the "official press release" fans have been clamouring for over the last little bit. But the wait is somewhat finally over! Bad Ass Digest has revealed the basic plot outline for the upcoming finale to Chris Nolans batman franchise, The Dark Knight Rises.

As she herself confirmed, Anne Hathaway will be Catwoman in the movie. I can’t tell you what role she has in the beginning, but by the end of the story Catwoman isn’t a villain but rather an ally of Batman. And who are they teaming up to take out?

The League of Shadows.

Headed by Talia Al’Ghul. With Bane, who is her muscle/possible love interest. And with Joseph Gordon-Levitt in tow. Is he playing Black Mask? My source didn’t know, but did know that Levitt is certainly an antagonist and involved with the League of Shadows.

They made sure to clarify that nothing was 100% concrete, but that they were very confident in the information being given. Then to add fuel to the fire Batman-On-Film backed up the claim via their facebook page, saying the synopsis was in fact real.

I can't say I'd personally consider this a major plot point being spoiled, like I'm sure some fanboys will, but more of an obvious expectation from the third instalment. Speculation to this point has had pretty much the same basis assumed already so I can't see this ruining the movie for anyone. I would assume with this out there now we can likely expect a more official announcement or press release from Warner Bros confirming the plot and hopefully filling us in on Levitts role.

Todd Phillips Wearing Bad Idea Jeans: Wants Charlie Sheen in The Hangover Part II

This sounds as cringe-inducing as there being a scene in The Blues Brothers where the Bluesmobile crash-lands on top of Vic Morrow. Not only tasteless, but such an idea will date the Hell outta the material in a matter of months.

Badass Digest says Todd Phillips is looking to secure Charlie Sheen for another-round of cameo work. He appeared at the end of Phillips' Due Date along with his Two and a Half Men co-stars Jon Cryer and the kid Angus Jones. This time, his "services" would be called forth for The Hangover Part II.

Even despite production already wrapping, it wouldn't take too long to shoot Sheen snorting or fucking the nearest hole within distance in an ill-conceived attempt to make audiences' laugh. But what can I say? If Phillips goes through with this, it's on him.

Between now and Hangover Part II's May release, no telling the outcome of Sheen-Gate. Assuming he isn't dead, I think his sitcom will be toast and the network will be forced to pay Sheen for those four canceled episodes, and then nobody will hire him for anything. And then he'll die.

The Latest Bourne Legacy Contender: Chris Evans

He's always had the charm and acting talent, but the stench from those Fantastic Four films didn't do him any favors once that franchise got sidelined. But thanks to Captain America, Chris Evans is going through career rejuvenation.

Where he winds up after his turn(s) as the Sentinel of Liberty I'd say depends on what he chooses between his downtime carrying that star-spangled shield. While he has time and the opportunity, aim for projects that are both commercial and show John & Jane Doe Moviegoer, he can effectively play beyond his signature role.

Boy could this help do the trick.

Sources tell Think McFly Think Evans is being considered by Universal for The Bourne Legacy. Word is they're seeing big fat dollar signs with Captain America (that Superbowl TV spot went over like gangbusters and we should be getting the trailer soon) and writer/director Tony Gilroy likes what he's seen from Evans' past performances.

Replacing Matt Damon is proving to be a bitch, and having a hot actor coming off a hit movie would help ease audiences into this new Bourne-absent installment. That's why those rumblings of Shia LaBeouf's candidacy, even Tobey Maguire, make perfect sense and Evans' schedule will be clear after The Avengers wraps and well before any Captain America sequel.
