"Warrior" Character Posters

In the Gavin O'Connor-directed action drama, opening September 9, two brothers face the fight of a lifetime – and the wreckage of their broken family – within the brutal, high-stakes world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighting.

An ex-Marine haunted by a tragic past, Tommy Riordan returns to his hometown of Pittsburgh and enlists his father, a recovered alcoholic and his former coach, to train him for an MMA tournament awarding the biggest purse in the history of the sport. As Tommy blazes a violent path towards the title prize, his brother, Brendan, a former MMA fighter unable to make ends meet as a public school teacher, returns to the amateur ring to provide for his family. Even though years have passed, recriminations and past betrayals keep Brendan bitterly estranged from both Tommy and his father.

But when Brendan's unlikely rise as an underdog sets him on a collision course with Tommy, the two brothers must finally confront the forces that tore them apart, all the while waging the most intense, winner-takes-all battle of their lives.

Official Poster For Hoodwinked 2

Another unexpected sequel and one that didn't need to happen, Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs Evil now has an official poster and several character posters to go along with it. The first one wasn't necessarily bad but this is another film on a list of 3D sequels that seem like a waste of money. Jump on over to ROS to get a look at all the official posters involved.

New Image From Nickelodeon's TMNT

Topless Robot is credited with getting this first image from the 2012 Nickelodeon revamp of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It comes from an article in the Wall Street Journal where executive producer Ciro Nieli says the new versions will have “more individual attributes”.

Nickelodeon purchased rights to the amphibious ninjas from Mirage Group and 4Kids Entertainment for $60 million in 2009.

From this first image they all look basically the same just with different facial expressions. More of that individuality must be left with characterization in the cartoon itself.

Another remake for the turtles is hit or miss. The team was reintroduced in a new series in 2003 which was generally well received but never seemed to capture the magic of the original show that began in 1987. The 2007 CGI flick was a mixed bag at best and I don't think it gained the attention they were hoping for.

Maybe I hold favor to the '87 version because I grew up with that and had a room full of turtle merchandise. There's possibility I give the new show a try with the first few episodes but if the taste isn't right I will remain in my nostalgic state.

Tyler Bates Composing Conan The Barbarian

Film Music Reporter has confirmation that Tyler Bates will be co-composing the score for the remake of Conan The Barbarian. His collaborater will be Tim Williams. You may recognize Bates' work in 300, Watchmen and this months release, Sucker Punch. Tyler often uses heavy guitar riffs and grooves to set his scores apart from many composers working today.

I think his style will fit really well with the new version. From images released so far the film looks to be a bit gory and have more of an edge and raw power to it which is tailor-made for Bates.

Marcus Nispel will be directing the August 19th release with Jason Momoa in the lead role.

International Posters For Red Riding Hood

Warner Bros. has released two new international posters for Red Riding Hood. Below is the official synopsis from Fandago:

Amanda Seyfried stars in this dark retelling of the classic Little Red Riding Hood fable, set in a medieval village where a werewolf has been terrorizing the citizens. Though the night has become a more and more dangerous time for the villagers, who never know when the beast will leave more bodies strewn in its wake, Valerie is a girl on the brink of womanhood, and is so preoccupied with her love and lust for an orphaned woodcutter that she risks leaving herself vulnerable - both literally and figuratively. Meanwhile, the townspeople hire a werewolf hunter (Gary Oldman) to track down the monster and kill it before it wrecks more bloody havoc. But as suspicions brew, the people of the once peaceful town begin to turn on each other, letting the innocence of their once happy community fall further and further into the past.

The film will be released this Friday, March 11th.

Facebook Begins Streaming Movies

Warner Bros. announced on Monday that they will begin streaming movies straight from the social network monster, Facebook. The first title available is The Dark Knight, with other titles to follow in the coming months. You have to be "friends" with the official Facebook page for the movie and you get the film for 48 hours while still maintaining all the functions of the site like commenting and updating your status.

"Facebook has become a daily destination for hundreds of millions of people," said Thomas Gewecke of Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. "Making our films available through Facebook is a natural extension of our digital distribution efforts. It gives consumers a simple, convenient way to access and enjoy our films through the world's largest social network."

While a nice idea, I seriously doubt this will take over Netflix or other forms of renting movies. Seems like a bit of a hassle. I like to keep my social networking and movie viewing separated.

New Banner For On Stranger Tides

Empire has an exclusive look at a new banner for Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and my first thought is, haven't I seen this before? This franchise is on its way to being completely drained if anymore are released after the fourth installment.

They've sprinkled in a few new characters like Blackbeard played by Ian McShane as Jack Sparrow searches for the Fountain of Youth while Mermaids get in the way; cue mayhem. I just feel like I've seen a lot of this before and the other three movies are one big blur to me on most viewings. I'm sure it will be fun and adventurous and gather a respectable crowd, I just may not be one of them this time. I feel pirate fatigue coming on.

If you're planning on hitting the theatres for this one then clear your calendar on May 20th.

New Image Of Havok From X-Men: First Class

Via the X-Men: First Class Facebook page, we get a new shot of Lucas Till as Havok and it's on fire. It's a departure from what I remember the character looking like in the comics but this could be an early shot before he dons any sort of official "X-Men" attire.

The jury is still out on this one. The posters released so far have just been bland and disappointing. The "Before he was...he was..." slogan is already tiresome since it's been thrown in every bit of promotional material so far it seems. There's still a lot to see here and I'll hold off on a final judgement until the film is released.

X-Men: First Class will be released June 3rd later this year.
