Original Superman Producer Ilya Salkind Is Meh On "Man Of Steel"
Tue, July 30, 2013 Man Of Steel certainly made some money domestically and overseas, but it was front loaded and is now going to fall $10 million plus short of $300 million domestic. For those that are counting, that is only the 2nd film outside of the Harry Potter & Twilight series to not hit $300 million domestic after opening to $100 million plus. Interesting fact for you to think about.
The not so epic descent of the film's box office is partly due to people seeing the film, shrugging, and then moving on. Not everybody felt like this, but there was enough of them to ensure the film stayed below the $300 million range. Produer of Superman: The Movie & Superman II had a similar reaction.
