A Threesome Of Actresses Up For "One Shot"

The HollyWoodReporter has unveiled that Hayley Atwell, Alexa Davalos, and Rosamund Pike are three names on the short list to play the female lead opposite Tom Cruise in "One Shot".
Christopher McQuarrie wrote the script so in my opinion, it must be good right? According to THR the decision is going to be made this week. I guess it would depend on shooting schedule among other factors.
Atwell did a solid job in "Captain America" and Davalos has some films under her belt including "Clash Of The Titans" and "Defiance". Pike is more low profile, although she had a role in "An Education.
Gun to my head? I think Atwell gets the role if she is available.
Six shots. Five dead. One heartland city thrown into a state of terror. But within hours the cops have it solved: a slam-dunk case. Except for one thing. The accused man says: You got the wrong guy. Then he says: Get Reacher for me.

Please tell me that Tom (I'm 5'5 with lifts in my tiny size 7 shoes) Cruise is not playing Jack Reacher (I'm 6'4, 250 and would kick you ass just for looking at me wrong). I would be extremely dissapointed.
I guess it would be like McLovin & Mike Cera playing Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch. Maybe they'll use high heels like Robert Downey did in Iron Man.
