Red Tails Trailer Made with 100% Real Cheese

If you were optimistic of Red Tails (like I was for the longest time), then that First Showing report of post-production woes and extensive reshoots under the direction of its producer George Lucas didn't ease those knee-jerks "How will Lucas screw this up?" concerns. Hey, you know you had them! That news-item dates back to February of last year and, besides a late January 2012 release date; mum's been the word on the WWII-drama focusing on the Tuskegee Airmen.

Its trailer is here for your viewing pleasure via Yahoo! Movies.

There's a great movie to be made on the subject of Airmen, and Lucas has been passionate about getting it done for Lord knows how long. So I was rooting for him and director Anthony Hemingway to pull it off and shut up his critics. Unfortunately I can't say I'm impressed with anything outside of the visual effects. Sorry but this looks like an overload of heavy-handedness and cheese. To its credit, it doesn't fall back on Edward Zwick syndrome, i.e. "God bless white people!"
