    Superman Returns June 14th, 2013

I always thought it was a tad strange that WB was not giving an exact date for the release of "Man Of Steel" instead vaguely referencing December. It reminded me of "The Money Pit" when they kept telling Tom Hanks his house would be finished in "Two weeks."

Warner Bros officially announced today that Man of Steel will fly into theaters on June 14th, 2013 instead of landing on the holidays in 2012. It makes sense due to the fact that WB already has "The Hobbit" in December, but my theory was that Hobbit would move and was only a placeholder for Superman.

I look at this as a good thing, more time to get things right and makes room for reshoots and a better approach to marketing. Not that the film would have been rushed for December, but more time is never a bad thing.

Interesting to note that ComingSoon.Net now lists Jonathan Nolan as a writer on the project. Not sure if this adds more fuel to the Moviehole Story or is just an error.

I agree. With no movement on Flash and Wonder Woman, a very unlikely GL sequel and no more Harry Potter, WB needed a strong tentpole for summer 2013. I'm not really surprised, just disappointed. Hopefully the extra time will make it all the more epic.

Oh, and let's not forget that this corresponds with the Man of Steel's 75th anniversary!

I don't think the move is a bad thing at all. Gives more time for filming and post work. Then secondly moves it away from hobbit/bond and other films.
