Bryan Singer Gives Up, Directing "Munsters" TV Show

What happened to that guy that exploded on to the scene with a heist tale featuring a story that bends your mind into a pretzel courtesy of a well played twist ending? For those who haven't figured it out just yet, I'm talking about Bryan Singer and his signature film, The Usual Suspects. He was M. Night before there was an M. Night. (The good M. Night before The Village)

Well believe it or not the same guy who directed X-Men, X2, and Superman Returns is now going to direct and executive produce The Munsters for NBC. Earlier in the month we heard that Bryan Singer was attached to The Six Billion Dollar Man which caused our very own Jamie Williams to exclaim, "Seriously, Bryan, stop! The general public isn't warming up to your child nostalgia repackaged for today."

He obviously didn't listen Jamie. According to Toldja! Bryan's new venture into TV is described as "an imaginative reinvention of The Munsters as a visually spectacular one-hour drama." If anybody can capture that look it's Bryan, if not, Tarsem might be available. The question is why would Bryan want to do this? Sure it could turn out to be a success, Once Upon A Time is a pretty decent show, but what the fuck Bryan?

Maybe the offers just aren't coming in anymore, the word we're getting on Jack The Giant Killer is that it is a complete shit show. Bryan might have lost some zip on his fastball and maybe I'm the one who needs to realize this while studios already have. Seems that The Brothers Warner want nothing more to do with him and maybe his only other option could be running back to Fox and the X-Men universe. I feel like a project like this is another curious choice in what is becoming somewhat of a checkered career.
