Batman And Bane Empire Covers

Empire's December issue offers up a choice of two covers, one featuring Batman and the other featuring Bane, as part of their feature article on 2012's most anticipated movie.

Personally I prefer the Batman one as it's more dramatically posed, the question is what is that he's aiming?
