New Trailer "Due Date"

Director Todd Philips' directorial follow up to The Hangover is Due Date and Yahoo! Movies has released the first trailer online. It looks a lot like a remake to Planes, Trains, and Automobiles which came out in 87' and starred comedians Steve Martin and the late John Candy. It looks funny as hell at any rate, and it gives us something else from Philips until Hangover 2 hits.
In the Warner Bros. release, Peter Highman (Downey Jr.) is an expectant first-time father whose wife's due date is a mere five days away. As Peter hurries to catch a flight home from Atlanta to be at her side for the birth, his best intentions go completely awry when a chance encounter with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay (Galifianakis) forces Peter to hitch a ride with Ethan--on what turns out to be a cross-country road trip that will ultimately destroy several cars, numerous friendships and Peter's last nerve.

How does this look anything like planes train and automobiles? That had actual funny comedians, and they were going home for christmas, not to mention John Candy was homeless-asshole!
Sly You're an idiot! This looks very close to PTA asshole.
Have to be honest, didn't find it funny at all. I love both actors, but I didn't laugh once. I'm a little afraid for Galifianakis. I don't want him to fall into the same trap as Jack Black, where he's just stuck doing the creepy, weird character for all his films. It was funny in "The Hangover" where you've got 3 other great talents to help with the heavy lifting, but for this one, I think it might be a bit much.
