    "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" Trailer

Every now and again a trailer catches you off guard, this is one of those occasions, just over a year ago this Bruckheimer project was announced and some screamed "sacrilage!" and it was hard to see exactly how a live action version of "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" could possibly work, throw in the fact Nic Cage was gonna star and Jon "National Treasure" Turteltaub was directing and the signs were not good.....not good at all.

Fast forward to this morning and the trailer debuts online, Cage is coming off the back of a well recieved performance in "Bad Litenuent" which won him back some indie cred, and lo and behold this looks like it could well win him back some blockbuster cred!

The trailer showcases what looks to be a kinetic, fun and visually sumptous take on the material, with Cage in a -slightly better than usual- toupee and acting amongst some very cool SFX. It's too early to say if this will deliver but the atmosphere the trailer gives off suggests this could well be a very good summer blockbuster (even if it feels better suited to this season), but time will tell if a miracle really has occured.

"The Sorcerer's Apprentice" Opens July 16th 2010 and you can see the trailer below.

Looks like fun. I dug the National Treasure movies so there is a good chance I will dig this flick.
