    "127 Hours" Trailer

    True story of mountain climber Aron Ralston's (James Franco) remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary, scale a 65 foot wall and hike over eight miles before he is finally rescued. Throughout his journey, Ralston recalls friends, lovers (Clemence Poesy), family, and the two hikers (Amber Tamblyn and Kate Mara) he met before his accident.     Scriptapalooza Announces 13th Annual Screenwriting Competition

    Scriptapalooza today announces its 13th Annual Screenplay Competition to continue its mission in providing unparalleled creative opportunities for aspiring screenwriters in the fiercely competitive entertainment industry.

    From now until the April 15th deadline, writers will be able to submit their screenplays through
    www.Scriptapalooza.com Participants will have their individual entries read by more than 90 leading filmmakers, production companies and literary agencies including 2929 Productions, Anonymous Content, Industry Entertainment, Lawrence Bender Productions and The Orphanage.

    As the leading screenplay competition, Scriptapalooza is fully endorsed by legendary author and screenwriter Robert McKee (Story) and the screenwriting software company Write Brothers Inc.

    The first place winner, chosen by Scriptapalooza, receives a $10,000 grand prize. In addition, Scriptapalooza offers its full support to the winner; finalists and semifinalists of the screenwriting challenge by promoting each work for one year after the winners’ announcement.

    “Since its inception in 1998, the Scriptapalooza Screenplay Competition has grown exponentially to become one of the well-respected competitions within the entertainment industry,” said Mark Andrushko, president and co-founder of Scriptapalooza. “Through this competition, we have optioned more than 40 scripts and opened new doors to unknown talent.     "All Good Things" Poster

    Inspired by the most notorious missing person's case in New York history, ALL GOOD THINGS is a love story and murder mystery set against the backdrop of a New York real estate dynasty in the 1980s. Produced and directed by Andrew Jarecki (director of the Academy Award-nominated doc Capturing the Friedmans and producer of Catfish), the film was inspired by the story of Robert Durst, scion of the wealthy Durst family.  Mr. Durst was suspected but never tried for killing his wife Kathie who disappeared in 1982 and was never found.  The film stars Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst and Frank Langella as the powerful patriarch, and captures the emotion and complexion of this real-life unsolved mystery.

    ALL GOOD THINGS premieres on Magnolia On Demand November 5, 2010 and opens in theaters December 17, 2010.

    New Conan TV Promo

    Conan O’Brien’s new late-night series on TBS will have a familiar name to fans of the iconic host.  O’Brien’s third late-night show will simply be titled Conan when he returns to television Monday, Nov. 8, at 11 p.m. (ET/PT) on TBS.

    Conan O’Brien added, “I’m just using “Conan” and dropping the “O’Brien” because I want to get away from the whole Irish thing.”

    Early in his career, O’Brien helmed the legendary Harvard Lampoon and wrote for television series icons Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons.  It was from there that he was championed by Lorne Michaels to host Late Night with Conan O’Brien, where he combined his talents as a writer, performer and interviewer from 1993 to 2008.  The two-time host of the Primetime Emmy® Awards then took over the reins of The Tonight Show.  O’Brien recently concluded touring the United States and Canada with his live show, Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour.

    Conan will originate from Stage 15 at Warner Bros. Studios and will be produced by Conaco LLC.  Jeff Ross is the executive producer.

    Michael Aussiello Jumps From EW To MMC

    In a move that strategically aligns two of the entertainment industry’s most influential emerging brands, Michael Ausiello will be leaving Entertainment Weekly and EW.com to launch a new consumer TV focused property with media and publishing company MMC. Founded by its Chairman & CEO, Jay Penske, MMC owns entertainment properties Deadline.com led by Nikki Finke, HollywoodLife.com led by Bonnie Fuller, and Movieline.com led by Charles Runnette. The yet-to-be-named website will debut in January 2011, and top reporters will be added to complement Ausiello in MMC’s and Ausiello’s quest to build the finest TV site in the world.

    Ausiello’s first role will be to spearhead the design and development of the TV property, and the partnership will soon announce the upcoming hires.  Ausiello's legions of diehard followers will still be able to get the best breaking news during the creation of this new property by following Ausiello on Twitter.  Once launched, Michael will become the Editor-in-Chief of the new MMC property.

    "True Grit" Trailer

     

    14-year-old Mattie Ross's (Hailee Steinfeld) father has been shot in cold blood by the coward Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin), and she is determined to bring him to justice. Enlisting the help of a trigger-happy, drunken U.S. Marshal, Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), she sets out with him -- over his objections -- to hunt down Chaney. Her father's blood demands that she pursue the criminal into Indian territory and find him before a Texas Ranger named LeBoeuf (Matt Damon) catches him and brings him back to Texas for the murder of another man.
