Mythbusting Holiday Movies

If you ever wondered whether or not you could spray your sled with cooking oil to go faster down the snowy hills, this video is for you. Watch it and find out of Clark W. Griswold was on to something. I especially like the fact that the "reporter" wouldn't even try sticking her tongue to the metal pole outside, we should shoot her eye out.

The Muppets Rock Out For Google

Anyone watching tonight's season finale of The X-Factor might have caught this new Google ad featuring a few old friends who recently made their big-screen comeback:

Yep, it's these guys.

It might not quite scale the heights of their Bohemian Rhapsody video (since this was, you know, a commerical, and I think this actually uses some of the same footage), but watching Beaker channel his inner David Bowie is definitely worth viewing anyway.

Chick Eats Cinnamon & Spits Up

This little lady doesn't want attention or anything. She's going on and on about "likes", I get 50 likes when I smile, pump the brakes. I gather from her video that she was challenged to eat a spoon of cinnamon by people that don't even know her out in cyberspace. She doesn't complete the mission and her cat doesn't seem to approve of her failure.

Prometheus Teaser Trailer

As much as I harp on not liking directors going back to the well (especially when we're talking about ones with vast careers as Ridley Scott), there's still that excitement in the air when seeing footage for the first time.

Here is such a scenario with the unveiling of the teaser to Prometheus:

Fox has been trying for the longest to nip the "It's an Alien prequel!" rumors in the bud. Ironic given the purposefully calculated maneuver to include signatures from Scott's 1979 sci-fi/horror masterpiece, i.e. the slow reveal of symbols revealing letters and the same sound-effects used in the original Alien trailer. The latter being a reference people these days won't catch.

But like all the great teasers, there's intriguing imagery from beginning to end and I want to see more, even if I wasn't already going to see this when it drops this coming June. To that I tip my fedora and say, "Good work, Fox marketing!"

Liam Neeson leads an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements – and a vicious pack of rogue wolves on the hunt – before their time runs out.

Frog Goes Gaming On iPhone

It was only a matter of time, first apes decided to screw over James Franco and take over the world, now Kermit and friends are getting smarter. It what can only be described as a "wtf moment" an African Bull Frog brings it during a game of "Ant Crusher". I could have sworn the other night I was shown a video of a monkey using a frog to pleasure itself, I guess we've come full circle.

FedEx Hates Christmas

This video has been shipping itself all over the interwebs the past several days so of course I'll jump on the bandwagon a tad late. Since TMT is soon going to feature pop culture content, I figure why not start now before the change is official.

A computer monitor was purchased and for some reason the FedEx driver decided he was just going to toss it over the fence and leave. Seems a little odd if you ask me, the driver didn't even try to deliver it to the door, just dump and run. You wonder if this is some elaborate scam to get your 15 minutes. Judge for yourself. You know this footage will be in the UPS Super Bowl spot...

Here is a video of my monitor being "delivered". The sad part is that I was home at the time with the front door wide open. All he would have had to do was ring the bell on the gate. Now I have to return my monitor since it is broken.

Hunger Games Awards You With Nail Polish

Nail polish isn't exactly a product I imagine being tied in with a major motion picture, but Hunger Games is giving it's fans a unique item indeed. The ad features Elizabeth Banks as the character Effie Trinket. I'm not familiar with the books other than the recent news of the movie so this seems like a really odd choice to advertise your film. Maybe it makes sense to have this character showcasing the nail polish with how she is portrayed in the story. Lionsgate is teaming up with the cosmetics company China Glaze to create twelve colors based around what is known as the Districts of Panem. Below is an image and title of the colors. My personal favorite is Smoke and Ashes.

Luxe and Lush – District 1 (Luxury)
Stone Cold – District 2 (Masonry)
Riveting – District 3 (Technology)
Hook and Line – District 4 (Fishing)
Electrify – District 5 (Power)
Fast Track – District 6 (Transportation)
Mahogany Magic – District 7 (Lumber)
Dress Me Up – District 8 (Textiles)
Harvest Moon – District 9 (Grain)
Foie Gras – District 10 (Livestock)
Agro – District 11 (Agriculture)
Smoke and Ashes – District 12 (Mining)
