"The Amazing Spider-Man" Promo Images

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

Even More "The Dark Knight Rises" Banners

I heard a lot of cries from forums and comments sections on various websites concerned with the lack of marketing for The Dark Knight Rises, I would imagine they are more than satisfied now. We've been barraged with TV spots, banners, and posters coinciding with The Avengers losing a bit of steam at the box office. It's obvious The Brothers Warner was waiting for the mass hysteria surrounding Iron Man & his crew to subside before really launching into the marketing campaign.

Of course, not everybody is satisfied, now the vocal minority is complaining about the marketing. "Oh that poster isn't good enough." Does it matter? If you film it, they will come. The general public doesn't care if Batman doesn't look "bad ass" enough in a banner. All they care about is being entertained for two plus hours. We all know that is going to happen.

New Catwoman Poster Revealed

And I thought this weeks Bat-fever was going to dwindle following today. Just after putting up the the new international banners and the announcement of new footage, something else grabs my attention. A reader of Batman-News.com sent them an heavy slice of goodness with a secret poster found of the official Dark Knight Rises website. Sometimes simplicty is all you need. I especially like the lipstick kiss stamped at the text. Notice how the opening of the lips create a bat. Quite clever aren't they?

Check back here in 5 minutes and you are likely to find another TDKR update.

Dark Knight Rises Footage And Even More New Banners

What a week it has been for fans of Nolan's Batman trilogy. For most its felt like there has been very litte hold us over between all the trailers, leading up to the release date on July 20th. At the beginning of the week a new theatrical poster for The Dark Knight Rises popped up online and general consensus was a big collective "meh".

The days that followed held quite a treat though with new character posters, new stills, new banners, tv spots, and to cap off the Batmania blitz are two international banners and the reveal of footage to be aired during the MTV Movie Awards. (Check the official press release below) Maybe most surprising of all is the names in attendance; Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gary Oldman. Nolan has often snubbed Comic-Con and many other highly revered comic book/entertainment conventions, so it's nice to see that he and the cast will get out and help promote the movie in a big way.

If there were any doubts to how WB would end up screwing the marketing for this film, I think this week alone puts all of that to rest. Hope to see some of those sweet character posters and hopefully even some large sized standees on my next trip to the theatre. That top banner with Batman covering his face with the cape is maybe one of my favorite images from this trilogy.

MTV today announced that the "2012 MTV Movie Awards" will feature exclusive footage from Warner Bros. Pictures' and Legendary Pictures' highly anticipated film THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, with director, writer, producer Christopher Nolan and actors Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gary Oldman on hand to celebrate the "Dark Knight" trilogy. Hosted by comedian, actor and TV personality Russell Brand, the "2012 MTV Movie Awards" will air live on Sunday, June 3, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.

MTV also announced today that Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey, stars of the upcoming film MAGIC MIKE, will join its impressive line-up of presenters, including: Adam Sandler, Emma Watson, Andy Samberg, Leighton Meester, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Ezra Miller, Emma Stone, Andrew Garfield, Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg. Chart-topping indie-pop group fun. and rapper Wiz Khalifa are set to perform.

Known as one of the most outrageous and distinctive televised award shows, the "2012 MTV Movie Awards" will feature its trademark individuality and irreverence. Fusing the network's musical core with the wonder and amazement of the comedy, drama, adventure and mystery inherent to the movie-going experience, the telecast is set to provide more laughs, surprises and one-of-a-kind moments with Hollywood's biggest stars gathering to honor fan-favorites from the past year.

MTV fans hold the "Power of the Popcorn" awards in their hands with voting available online via MovieAwards.MTV.com through Saturday, June 2. As always, voting for "Movie of the Year" will remain open throughout the live show on Sunday, June 3.

Arnie And Sly Talk 'The Tomb'

As Arnire says in the video, it's taken 3 decades to get these two action icons in a movie together and unlike The Expendables this is a real two hander with Arnie and Sly working together to escape a high-tech prison.

I think the plot for this sounds great, it has scope for action but also the chance for the two legends to have some quieter fun scenes together where they can play off their old warhorse personas.

Dwayne Johnson To Play Lobo?

With Warner Brothers' curious decision to make Lobo the next DC Comics film after next year's Man of Steel, getting Brad Peyton onboard write and direct after producer Joel Silver and original director Guy Ritchie bailed out for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, a potential actor is in the cards to play the titular antihero himself. And it's none other than Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, who's coming off two consecutive hits with his supporting role in Fast Five and his starring role in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (which was also directed by Peyton).

Not only did Johnson make a cryptic answer about him playing a DC Comics character on Twitter a few days back, but Bleeding Cool got a report from an unknown, untested source that Johnson told a few partygoers that he had taken the Lobo role. So treat this as a rumor for now.

Johnson has a full plate of projects on his hands. He is currently shooting Michael Bay's Pain and Gain with Mark Wahlberg, and will reprise his role in Fast Six, which starts shooting this summer as well as reshoots for next year's G.I. Joe: Retaliation in the fall for Paramount. He is also attached to a third Journey film, with Peyton also attached to direct, as well as an in-development Hercules film at MGM.

Bradley Cooper to Produce & Likely Star in NAVY Seal Flick 'American Sniper'

American Sniper will be the first project for Bradley Cooper's new production company, 22nd & Indiana, over at Warner Bros.

Cooper - who formally set up the company in Burbank on March 1st - will produce and likely star in the flick; an adaptation of the autobiography of NAVY Seal Chris Kyle, who recorded the most sniper kills for any American in military history.

Newcomer Jason Dean Hall will write the script along with Andrew Lazar (Confessions of a Dangerous Mind) and Peter Morgan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) producing.

American Sniper - whose complete title is American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History - tells the true story of how the Texas native Kyle came to record the highest number of sniper kills for an American while losing his love for his wife in the process.

The book has been praised for its detailed, first-person accounts of sniper attacks which come from both far and close distances.

No word on when the film is likely to be released or a formal shooting date but expect more news by the end of the year.
