Trailer for A Thousand Kisses Deep

Now here is a clever, li'l concept. What if you witnessed your own death, unbeknownst to you at first, and had the chance to prevent it? That is the driving force the new time-travel thriller A Thousand Kisses Deep. It hits DVD and Digital on August 6.

But in the meantime, here's the trailer:

"Returning home from work, Mia (Jodie Whittaker) witnesses an aged woman leap from a window.  Scattered around the old woman’s broken, lifeless body Mia discovers shredded pieces from a beloved photograph of herself and her former lover Ludwig (Dougray Scott). Highly unnerved, Mia begs Max (David Warner), the buildings’ all knowing custodian, to let her into the deceased woman's flat.  While inside this strangely familiar place, Mia recognizes the contents as her own. Confused and disturbed by what lies before her, she bolts back and forth in time where she is forced to realize it was her very own life that ended before her.  Now, the only way to safeguard her future is to go back to her past and confront the man she loves deeply but dreads most."

Commence Nerdgasm: Avatar 2 Footage Exists & It Has Screened

You hear vague, non-committal Avatar 2 "updates" from Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana every so often. Currently penciled in for Christmas 2015 release, but that’s a pipe dream knowing the meticulous process of post productions. James Cameron and the WETA bad-boys spent close to two years rendering all those shots. And you know what? That hard work shows on the screen.

So while it's the early days for the sequel, Cameron's producing partner Jon Landau screened test footage recently:

"He then showed a series of clips, starting with a live capture created on a stage last November, which was set on Pandora and featured a human as well as the Na'vi. 'This was our first foray into what we wanted to do,' Landau told the audience, pointing to noticeable improvements in aspects of the image including lighting and shadows."

Second Scene-Specific & Intense Gravity Trailer is Here

At this rate, they might release the whole film.

A second trailer for Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity is here less than 24 hours after the last trailer was released. Again, not the typical trailer laying out the plot with dialogue, montage of scenes and Billing Order. It's a scene directly from the film. And like last time (AKA: last night/this morning), it is frightening.

This feels like a commentary on the reports of audiences laughing during the teaser trailer. Those are not exaggerated by the way. I've seen it firsthand myself. People snickered at Sandra Bullock floating away in the nothingness of space. A scary thought to us; the cause of laughter to some cell-phone playing jackasses.

47 Ronin Trailer Looks Expensive & Shitty

The money is all there. That much can be said about the much-buzzed about (for all the wrong reasons) 47 Ronin from first-time helmer Carl Erik Rinsch. It just doesn't look particularly good, unless they were going for Intentionally Bad.

Which could be the case considering the overreliance of Keanu Reeves here. A story about 47 Japanese warriors and yet the focus is on the white guy. I'm sure that will sit well with everyone.

Mr. Go Trailer Is the Stuff Warped Dreams Are Made Of

Mr. Go is not a case of cultural divide. What is acceptable elsewhere is looked at differently in the United States or vice versa. Not true at all; we have had our stock in the Animals Playing Sports sub-genre on film. Why is this any different? IT'S A GORILLA PLAYING BASEBALL.

Need I say more? The sadistic side of me (read: me in general) wants to see this go horribly, violently wrong. And hey, this is one step closer to a real life Gentle Ben talk show if this becomes a commercial juggernaut in the foreign markets. Until that day happens, watch this trailer.

    TV Spots for The Wolverine

The Wolverine opens tomorrow night and the media blitz is on. Our very own Jen Mayhew saw it last night and had nothing but raves. That could be her meeting Hugh Jackman talking (at 1:41). Like none of us would be speechless in front of the adamantium wonder too. Across the board, word is strong on the latest X-Men opus. So knock on wood, First Class wasn't a fluke and those gravy days of the Bryan Singer reign are here to stay.

In the meantime, here are the latest TV spots:

    Gravity Trailer & Poster

"Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a on her first Space Shuttle mission and is accompanied by veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney), who is in command of the shuttle due to it being his last flight. During a spacewalk, space debris crash into the space shuttle, which leaves it almost destroyed, leaving them stranded in space and alone in spacesuits with limited breathable oxygen. They have no communication from Earth thus forcing them to cooperate by themselves."

47 Ronin? Try 4 Cool Posters

This will not cool down all that bad buzz of reshoots, release date shifts and dropping its own director. But for a first look, these 47 Ronin posters (courtesy of IGN) are pretty cool. First one is of course the star of the film Keanu Reeves.

Now some good-looking footage and maybe Universal can turn this puppy around like Paramount did to World War Z.

From ancient Japan’s most enduring tale, the epic 3D fantasy-adventure 47 Ronin is born. Keanu Reeves leads the cast as Kai, an outcast who joins Oishi (Hiroyuki Sanada), the leader of the 47 outcast samurai. Together they seek vengeance upon the treacherous overlord who killed their master and banished their kind. To restore honor to their homeland, the warriors embark upon a quest that challenges them with a series of trials that would destroy ordinary warriors.

X-Men: Days of Future Past Character Posters

Remember those face-crotch posters for X-Men: First Class? The mugs of James McAcoy and Michael Fassbender photoshopped on the nether-regions of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen silhouette and the great taglines "Before he was Professor X, he was Charles" and "Before he was Magneto, he was Erick."

These new posters for X-Men: Days of Future Past are in that spirit. Only they don't suck and communicate the idea clearly. Already off to a great start and following the reaction at Comic-Con Saturday, we could be in store for the X-Men movie to end (*cough*and restart*cough*) all X-Men movies.

New Writers Set to Save/Fuck Up Star Trek 3

J.J. Abrams quit for another galaxy (reportedly far, far away...) and Star Trek Into Darkness underperformed. Those facts suggested whatever happened on Star Trek 3, it would not bare the imprints of writers Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof let alone anyone else associated with Bad Robot. Someone had to be sacrificed to "pay" for the insubordination of J.J.

That's half right, according to Badass Digest. Yes, new writers are boldly going to pen the next Kirk/Spock bromance. But they have links to Abrams and were handpicked by K&O; Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz who wrote for Fringe and authored Thor and X-Men: First Class.

I buy new writers. I don't buy Bad Robot having a say. That would be like Fox letting Bad Hat Harry hire one of Bryan Singer's go-to writers after he quit X-Men 3. That does not compute, unless it is part of their overall deal.

Paramount wants the third installment for 2016 to commemorate the 50th anniversary. Again, that makes sense. They did the same thing to honor the 25th and 30th anniversaries too; following a pattern. That and utilize the Abramsverse cast before their contracts expire.
