Bruce Willis Aiming to Die Harder, Hardest & Hardestest

If you don't succeed, try again.

Or in the case of Bruce Willis and 20th Century Fox, you push your luck. Live Free or Die Hard was a surprisingly enjoyable sequel in a mostly lackluster summer that the public and overall critical consensus favored. Most important, it earned some nice shiny pennies at the box-office. So it's Die Hard 5 to the rescue for a studio drying up every property at their disposal.

Who needs to wait for Die Hard 5 when there's still Die Hard 6? If Willis has his way (as he tells Showbiz Spy) he'll do two more installment and then retirement from the franchise for good. You know, don't want to wear out your welcome!

Truthfully, there's still an active interest in seeing Willis knocking people's teeth in. For you naysayers out there spouting out him being 55 years old, check out Red. That movie was a blast, and proved Bruno still has it. It also added another hit on his belt, and I'm surprised they haven’t forthright started development on a follow-up yet.

But regarding John McClane, just walk away, Bruce.

Alien Prequel Catches Two More Talents in Its Tractor-Beam

With all these big names being bantered about for Ridley Scott's Alien prequel, perhaps my pessimism isn't justified here. Wouldn't be the first time, but this is one of those flicks that's just going to have to win me over. And you know what, maybe it will.

But the notion of filling in the blanks for bits like the space-jockey sounds silly to me. If Fox is so Hell-bent on chugging this universe along, go the route of Universal with the Jason Bourne franchise and begin sometime after Alien: Resurrection and go from there with new characters.

So anyway it looks like we're getting the damn prequel regardless of my (or your) preference. Bloody-Disgusting reports two additional names are in the "interested" category of joining the production – Anne Hathaway and James Franco.

Now Franco's a solid character-actor and loveable odd-ball. There's just no gage of what movies he'll pick, and, for me at least, that’s part of his appeal/charm. Thing is he's already partaken in a high-profile "prequel to a decades-old sci-fi classic" sub-genre with Caesar: Rise of the Apes. Is he trying to test his batting average?

Hathaway, on the other hand, has been careful with her filmography since leaving behind the Princess Diary franchise that first made her a star (I still think she'll wind up headlining a third installment in a couple of years). For the most part, she's made the right choices (Brokeback Mountain, The Devil Wears Prada, Rachel Getting Married, Get Smart). It's like my issue/concern with Natalie Portman. It doesn't seem like a good career move to get into the prequel business.

But again maybe I’m wrong and the movie will kick all kinds of ass.

Aurra Sing Is Back In "Star Wars: The Clone Wars"

She's BACK! Left for dead after her failed gambit at the end of The Clone Wars' second season, deadly assassin Aurra Sing has returned – and she's out to redistribute the balance of power in "Assassin," an all-new episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars – airing at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT Friday, October 22 on Cartoon Network.

Tasked with protecting Senator Padmé Amidala during a political mission to Alderaan, Ahsoka Tano is plagued by recurring visions of Sing's return. Unable to clear her mind, Ahsoka begins to worry that the stress of war is finally taking its toll on her – until the blood-letting assassin reveals herself with an attempt on Padmé's life. And after their last confrontation left Sing humbled, humiliated and presumed dead, the lean and mean bounty huntress is only happy for a chance at a rematch with the young Padawan…

"Aurra never dies. She gives what she takes and she kind of enjoys it," laughs Jaime King (My Bloody Valentine 3D, Sin City, The Spirit), who voices Sing in The Clone Wars. "She does have a bad taste in her mouth [after the events of Season Two], but rather than being bitter and angry, she is doing what she needs to do. It's a very cut-and-dried thing for her. Everything that happens makes her more intense and ruthless. She says bring it."

Sing's cruelty and merciless methods have certainly made her a favorite among fans; fascinating audiences with her blink-and-you'll-miss-it introduction in the live-action Episode I, she's since been elevated into the upper echelons of Star Wars icons. Her distinctive appearance – creepy yet seductive – plays into that mystique, giving her a visual flair that complements her ruthless demeanor.

"She's long and lean and lanky, but she has curves. She's perfect," says King. "She's got those long fingers; they're spidery like she is. Predatory. Her physicality is very much a part of her, and it's sexy. There are so many people who aren't inherently beautiful, but their qualities and gifts make them so stunning. It's the It Factor, and Aurra's got It. Men love her because she's hot and badass, and women love her because she's strong and badass. There aren't a lot of strong female characters like Aurra."

Still, while Sing may be "badass," that doesn't necessarily mean that she's all bad, according to King. She may not necessarily be a friendly, compassionate type, but Sing nonetheless has a backstory that provides the drive behind her bad behavior, But don't expect a comprehensive explanation of those motivations anytime soon.

"There's a history we haven't been told," says King. "It's up to George [Lucas] and Dave [Filoni] what they choose to show. I have my ideas, but those are secrets I like to hold on to; those are the layers that inform the character when I'm playing her. I'm never just pretending; it's my job to understand why she does what she does, so that it comes from a place of truth. Each episode reveals more. It's Star Wars; it touches lives, and I believe it will last forever. I love that."

Roadside Attractions Harvests "Hemingway's Garden Of Eden"

Roadside Attractions has acquired U.S. rights to Hemingway's Garden of Eden, directed by John Irvin and starring Mena Suvari, Jack Huston, Caterina Murino, Richard E. Grant, Matthew Modine and Carmen Maura. The screenplay was adapted from the Ernest Hemingway book by former Paris Review  editor James Scott Linville, and is based on Hemingway's final novel, a jazz-age set, erotically-charged romance that was published posthumously in 1986. Hemingway's Garden of Eden  was produced for Tranquil Seas by Lorne Thyssen and Timothy J. Lewiston. The acquisition was announced by Roadside Attractions co-presidents Howard Cohen and Eric d’Arbeloff and Ian Jessel, president of Tranquil Seas, USA.

"Ernest Hemingway is one of a handful of genius writers whose work leaps from the page to the screen brilliantly," said Cohen, "and his 'Garden of Eden' is lush and vibrant, in the tradition of other great Hemingway adaptations like 'The Sun Also Rises.'"

"The Garden of Eden" remains one of the author's most debated novels, and is considered a departure from his usual work as it is widely accepted the novel is far more reflective of his personal life, perhaps even semi autobiographical. The fact the book was not published until after his suicide has sparked debate as to whether the erotic nature of it was such that he never wished it published at all.

Set in the jazz age of the 1920s, the story follows a successful young American writer, David Bourne (Huston), and his beautiful wife, Catherine (Suvari), on their extended honeymoon in Europe. Catherine soon becomes restless and starts to test her husband's devotion, pushing him to the limits of her erotic imagination and luring a sultry Italian girl, Marita (Murino) into their inner circle. With the stakes continually ratcheting higher, the events that follow change their lives forever.

Roadside will release the film in theaters on December 10.

TV Spot For "Paranormal Activity 2"

Yahoo Movies! has a tv spot for "Paranormal Activity 2". This flick looks like it is going to make some money, just like the first one did. As long as they don't drag it out like the "Saw" franchise, I'll be happy. So if you're listening studio heads, no "Paranormald Activity 3D".

Trailer For "Biutiful"

A love story between a father and his children. This is the journey of Uxbal, a conflicted man who struggles to reconcile fatherhood, love, spirituality, crime, guilt and mortality amidst the dangerous underworld of modern Barcelona. His livelihood is earned out of bounds, his sacrifices for his children know no bounds. Like life itself, this is a circular tale that ends where it begins. As fate encircles him and thresholds are crossed, a dim, redemptive road brightens, illuminating the inheritances bestowed from father to child, and the paternal guiding hand that navigates life's corridors, whether bright, bad - or biutiful.

First Photos From "A Dangerous Method"

The movie news juggernauts over at Coming Soon got their hands on the first official photos from "A Dangerous Method".

Based on the play "The Talking Cure" by Christopher Hampton, the film is about the conflict between Sigmund Freud (Mortensen) and his pupil Jung (Fassbender). Knightley plays Sabina, a disturbed young woman brought to see Jung by her father.

New "Tron: Legacy" Poster

I'm not sure what to think about this movie. I know this is kind of frowned upon in the geek community that I am a part of, but I really didn't love the first one. It's decent, but not the be all and end all. "Tron: Legacy", I'm sort of excited about it. Just not too sure how it is going to play with the general public. That being said, enjoy a new poster courtesy of Yahoo Movies, which has looks very similar to a poster from "Tron".

Toy Story 3 DVD Bonus Feature

One of many things I loved about Toy Story 3 was that John Morris, who did the voice of Andy in the first two films, was brought back to do grown-up Andy's voice in this film.  Disney-Pixar has released this new clip, which will be featuring the upcoming DVD/blu-ray release, about how they went about bringing Morris back:

I'm still recovering from that ending.  Toy Story 3 comes to DVD and blu-ray on November 2nd.
