New "X-Men: First Class" Cast Image

MSN (and not the site that stole and subsequently water-marked the Hell out of the image) has our first look at the cast of "X-Men: First Class". I want to comment on the other characters but I can't stop looking at Emma Frost. I hope they just make a spin-off movie featuring her in different poses. I'm all in.

I do have another comment, is that the dude from "Everwood" in the front right? I didn't know Ephram was in this flick? He's come a long way from chasing around Amy Abbott around.

X-Men First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X's X-Men.

Blake Lively Good? "Green Lantern" Terrible?

An article over at Vulture indicates that the sultry Blake Lively might have taken a risk by collecting a pay check to appear in the upcoming Summer blockbuster "Green Lantern".

Vulture was able to pull some quotes from a manager and an agent whom both seemed to be really high on Blake but not so high on "Green Lantern".

Says the manager, "Whatever the mistakes were with Green Lantern, she needs to not react to them and do an indie movie just because a big superhero movie didn't work. It's always about the role and the director. The hotter the person, the easier it is, and she's very hot right now."

The agent adds, "Even though Green Lantern is supposed to be terrible, it doesn’t mean it’s not going to do extremely well and enhance her foreign value. Clash of the Titans was horrendous, but it didn’t slow down Sam Worthington any."

I'm not going to take what a mysterious agent or not to be named manager says to heart and start freaking out about a movie being "terrible", I'll go to the theater and see it for myself. The fact that agent mentions "Clash of the Titans" not slowing Worthington down should be a red flag to anybody. Sam Worthington has been in "Avatar", "Terminator: Salvation", and "Clash Of The Titans" and the general public still has no idea who he is.

I expect "Green Lantern" to make money, I expect Blake to do well in it, and I expect a sequel and her career to take off because of it. However, lets not crown her as the next Julia Roberts quite yet.

Red Skull From Captain America Revealed!

The Nazi bad guy with no face from the upcoming Captain America has finally been revealed, sort of. The first look actually comes courtesy of the Halloween costume for the character, none the less it still gives us a basic idea of what to expect this summer.

With this now making its way online and not likely doing the on-screen adaption of the character much justice, I'm expecting an actual picture to be released along with the teaser trailer we've been hearing about for the last while now. Either that or he's briefly revealed in the trailer to be much more awesome  and they feel no need to show us anything else.

Arnold Schwarzenegger May Return "With Wings As Eagles"

Well, that didn't take long.  Two weeks after Arnold Schwarzenegger finished his term as Governor of 'Caleefornuh,' news comes from TheArnoldFans that the former action star is looking at three scripts right now to possibly make his return to movies.  One of those scripts is With Wings As Eagles.  For those of you who don't recall, With Wings was a film Schwarzenegger was circling many years ago before he took on his political duties.

The film is said to take place during WWII in which Arnold would play a German officer who is ordered by his Nazi party to kill a bunch of kids.  Schwarznegger's character (said to be named Osterman) refuses his duty, and decides to help the kids escape.

Arnold agrees the film would not be a popcorn action-flick, but more so a dramatic, epic film.  He relates the stage his career is in now to that of Clint Eastwood:

"In the future I have to adapt my roles to my age. Clint Eastwood also has done it in the same way. Extreme fighting or shooting is not possible anymore. I want to be more encouraged as an actor and I believe that I can manage this challenge. I am like a sponge, which is absorbing all the knowledge and always be willing to learn all new things."

We'll see what happens with this project over the next few months.

Fuck You, Logic! Storm Shadow Returns for G.I. Joe 2!

With a movie as stupid, or as I prefer the term retardtastic, as G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, there's zero point in arguing logic. Waste of time and you come off like an even bigger idiot for trying to debate how something does or doesn't make sense.

THR says Lee Byung-hun is returning as Storm Shadow? Even though he was clearly dead at the end of the first movie? Sure, why not?

They say filming will start this June for an unspecified summer 2012 release. Probably repeat the Stephen Sommers-directed original and aim for August after The Dark Knight Rises and Star Trek 2 have chewed up and spit out everything out.

New "Hangover II" Image

I honestly never thought they would make a "Hangover II" but here I am writing up a post about it. I'm sure that this flick will be well received and will make some dough but it is hard to imagine the success fo the first one. What the hell do I know. Enjoy a picture featuring Zach Galifianakis looking a lot like Paul Giamatti circa the Golden Globes last night.

Crisis Adverted! Spider-Man Using Mechanical Web-Shooters!

The vibe we're all getting from the 3D Spider-Man reboot is whatever Sam Raimi did Marc Webb is going to do the opposite. Thus instead of Mary Jane Watson as the gal of Pete Parker’s dreams, it's Gwen Stacy. Instead of relegating Flash Thompson (a longtime comic-foil for Webhead) to a bit part during the high-school segment of the 2002 film, he's here in full force.

That also goes for the web-fluid debate. The three Raimi/Tobey Maguire flicks went for organic web-shooters, an idea originating from James Cameron's infamous 1993 "scriptment." When that (very solid) first look at Andy Garfield in the suit popped online last week, many noticed what appeared to be mechanical web-shooters on his wrists.

It didn't take long, but Music Television apprehended Emma Stone and got confirmation on the matter:

We'll have to wait and see if the Osborn family rears their heads or if the wall-crawler will spout out one-liners this time. Not to mention, where the Hell is J. Jonah Jameson?

Golden Globe Winners

I thought the Globes were pretty damn entertaining for the first time in a long time. Ricky Gervais was fighting his little big man syndrome the entire night but he definitely hit more times than he missed. Although due to his overzealous vulgarity, not sure if he'll be back again. If not, De Niro should take over. He was on point during his acceptance of the Cecil B. Demille award.

I mean, on what show can you see Spider-Man, Batman, Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Emma Frost all in one room? Even Peggy Bundy made an appearance, looking slender and brining it in an mind blowing gown. She won an award for her efforts.

New Image from Deathly Hallows Part 2

It may not look like much, but it's Neville Longbottom and we all know there's much more to this hapless young Gryffindor than we all initially thought.

Now that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is wrapping up its $928 million worldwide box office run, it's time to start hyping up Part 2, which arrives in theaters on July 15.

Thanks to the folks at Examiner for posting the picture.  This movie is gonna be good.
