Hanks Tweets New "Larry Crowne" Trailer

Good old Tom Hanks, the man of many characters, he's dropped the new "Larry Crowne" trailer courtesy of his Twitter account. Who ever thought the guy from "Bosom Buddies" would be tweeting a trailer for a movie he co-wrote and directed?

When appealing everyman LARRY CROWNE (Tom Hanks) is inexplicably fired from his job as a big box store clerk, he realizes it’s time for some meaningful change in his life.  Deeply in debt and without direction, he returns to college where he befriends a group of scooter-riding students and eventually develops a real affection for his beautiful speech class instructor, MERCEDES TAINOT (Julia Roberts).

Charming and smart, LARRY CROWNE reminds us of life’s small surprises.  Sometimes clouds really do have a silver lining.  It’s also about the power of new beginnings like the time Larry Crowne, an ordinary man with a gentle heart, was forced to downsize his world…and ended up expanding his life.

"The Hunger Games" Set Photos

FanGirlTastic has some new photos of from "The Hunger Games". I've never heard of the site before but I like it. I think I am going to add it to my favorites. You should to. Below is the book overview but stay tuned for more relating to the upcoming big screen version that is already generating a good amount of buzz.

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before-and survival.

Six "Horrible Bosses" Posters

I personally think this movie looks like it could be a riot and I'm a big believer in Jason Bateman. I know that there are some other there who are into Hatin' on Bateman but I'm now one of them nor am I going to let you ruin my Bateman Fever. I knew he had it since "Hogan Family". That's loyalty and I know he appreciates it. Sixe new "Horrible Bosses" posters couresy of Facebook & Digital Spy

Movie Review: Green Lantern Emerald Knights

With the theatrical release of the live action Green Lantern just over a week away Warner Bros is holding fans off with their latest animated release Green Lantern: Emerald Knights.

Unlike it's live action counter part and the previously released animated film Green Lantern: First Flight, Emerald Knights doesn't exactly star the first human lantern Hal Jordan, he does however serve as narrator through out. Similar to Batman: Gotham Knight the film consists of several short stories about the Green Lantern Corps told by Jordan and his mentor Sinestro. Also like Gotham Knight each individual tale is directed and written by different groups, thankfully though the continuity in the animation stays consistent throughout.

The plot kicks off with Hal Jordan taking new Lantern recruit Arisia under his wing as Oa is about to come under attack by a scorned former lantern. While preparing for the battle Hal shares stories of his fellow Lanterns and how they came to join the ranks of the Green Lantern Corps.

In the first story we learn how the guardians of Oa came to the decision to create the Green Lantern rings and how they decided who would should be bestowed with the honor of wearing them. There were originally four Lanterns chosen, and it wasn't until after their first victorious battle that they or the guardians realized the true potential for the rings. They formed the Green Lantern corps and trained future recruits in order to defend there own sectors using the will powered ring constructs they imagined while in a conflict.

Each story there after serves purpose in introducing the core members of the corps and solidifying their position. The most interesting being Laira's origins. She was forced to face off against her own family which ruled the home planet she'd come from. They'd become a hostile force in her sector and she was forced to overcome unimaginable odds in order to keep the peace. The next best would be Sinestro giving the new recruit the run down on Abin Sur the lantern who's ring chose Hal Jordan after his demise. In Sinestro's story we get a quick glimpse at the evil Yellow Lantern Sinestro and his corps. What worked well was the continuity between Emerald Knights and First Flight, and also setting the animated films up for another sequel.

What worked best were the entertaining segments and the continuity in animation. The only down fall was the animation didn't seem as crisp as some of the previous releases. The plot wasn't the most intricate or even the best of the animated films, but Emerald Knights is still definitely worth checking out. I wouldn't consider myself an avid fan of the character or mythos and I thought it was a lot of fun.

The special features on the blu ray were actually some of the coolest I've seen yet. There's a sneak peak at the making of Batman Year One in there as well, which looks pretty damn awesome itself.

"The Three Musketeers" Poster

Yahoo Movies has the poster for "The Three Musketeers" and all I can say is Errol Flynn's mustache is rolling over in it's grave. While you're at it, what does Rollie Fingers have to say about this? That guy was bringing the stache as well. These goatstaches have nothing on them.

Legendary Entertainment Takes Legendary East

Legendary East is the vision of Legendary Entertainment’s Chairman and CEO Thomas Tull, who along with Chinese born Hong Kong media and finance entrepreneur Kelvin Wu, created the venture. Legendary East’s local co-production and distribution partner is its strategic shareholder - Huayi Brothers Media Corporation, a leading Chinese film conglomerate.

The announcement was made today in Beijing by Tull and Huayi Brothers CEO Wang Zhongjun, and Huayi Brothers President, Wang Zhonglei.

Legendary East’s films are anticipated to be developed and produced as co-productions with Huayi Brothers, who will distribute the movies in China, while distribution in all other parts of the globe is anticipated to be handled by Warner Bros. Pictures, with whom Legendary Entertainment has a long-standing relationship. Legendary East initially plans on producing one to two major, event style films for worldwide audiences annually beginning in 2013.

“China is one of the most important economic and culturally significant areas in the world, and we are deeply honored to establish a base in this region to create entertainment that is globally appealing in quality, scale and impact,”commented Mr. Tull. “Legendary Entertainment is committed to building a long-term presence in China and the surrounding region by becoming part of both the rapidly growing world-class filmmaking community and its media and business economy. Our newly announced production and distribution partnership with Huayi Brothers in China, coupled with Legendary East’s management team lead by Kelvin Wu, positions us well in our pursuit of these goals.”

“As the rapid growth of the Chinese film market has attracted more and more attention and participation from filmmakers around the world, Huayi Brothers is very fortunate to be an active participant in this global trend and to witness China becoming the 2nd largest market for film by 2012. Even though in 2010, Huayi Brothers alone contributed 30% of the domestic Chinese film B.O. in China (17% of the overall domestic B.O.), we have never stopped exploring any possibility that can enhance us to break into the global market," commented Mr. Zhonglei, President. "I am glad that I have found Legendary, the leading film creator and trend setter, to be my comrade. We sincerely value this partnership and believe that this collaboration will not only produce countless fantastic films for our global audience; but simultaneously will allow the world to see China from a whole new perspective.”

Legendary East will be led by an experienced management team with significant experience working with Hollywood studios as well as with Western and Chinese entertainment companies. The Legendary East senior executive team will be comprised of Thomas Tull, Executive Chairman; Kelvin Wu, Chief Executive Officer; and Joel Chang, Chief Financial Officer.

“Hong Kong was said to be the Hollywood of the East and has emerged as one of the most important international financial centers today. Thanks to the rapid growth of the Chinese film market, Hong Kong has been regaining its momentum to become eminent in film production. With the support from Legendary Entertainment, we are excited to be a part of Legendary East and be in the forefront of bridging the creative with finance, and the East with the West,” said Mr. Wu.

The announcement also marks Legendary Entertainment’s formal entrance into the Chinese marketplace.
In the formation of Legendary East, Legendary Entertainment was advised by Goldman, Sachs & Co.; Legendary East was advised by Centerview Partners LLC.
