Poster for Ridley Scott's Prometheus

20th Century Fox via Comingsoon.net have released the first poster for the eagerly anticipated and much scrutinized Alien prequel Prometheus.....or is it a prequel? they seem undecided on that front, at any rate it takes place in the same scary world as Alien and this poster is pretty ominous.

Now how  about that trailer Fox?

The Expendables 2 Teaser!

This is really short and basically just a bunch of character shots, however if you love the 80's you'll get giddy like a teen girl at a Bieber concert when you see the final shot.

The Dictator Trailer

After you face a failure, it's the norm to go back to the well. Recharge your batteries, regain confidence in your material and build up goodwill again with the movie-goers who first made you rich and famous.

Judging by the trailer of The Dictator (courtesy of Moviefone), that isn't the case for Sacha Baron Cohen and director Larry Charles.

They're not letting Bruno, and how it was received, stop them from pushing further how much one can make a comedy outrageous in its set-up and execution (at times, brilliant, See: the steel-cage fight in Bruno) and have your protagonist be as despicable and unsympathetic as possible. For that, the duo has my respect.

And The Star of Kathryn Bigelow's 'Bin Laden' Movie Is...Chris Pratt?

Well I didn't see that one coming.

Twitch is reporting that Kathryn Bigelow has found her lead actor for her long-anticipated, Osama Bin Laden centered follow-up to the Academy Award winning The Hurt Locker: Chris Pratt.

Yes, the guy who started out on the WB TV show, Everwood (and is currently known to most for his goofiness on NBC's Parks and Recreation), will be hunting down Osama Bin Laden come next year.

For those who don't know, Bigelow had this film in development prior to the U.S. finding and killing Bin Laden this past year when it was then known as Kill Bin Laden.  The film, currently untitled, would have been based around the hunt for Bin Laden but with most likely no resolution as he hadn't been found...yet.  Once the news came out that he had indeed been killed by U.S. forces earlier this year, Bigelow began reconstructing her film as a true story of how the terrorist figure was taken down.

As for Chris Pratt, this is nothing short of an inspired choice by Bigelow as many would probably figure she was gunning for a more "man's man" type of actor (apparently Joel Edgerton was in talks for the role but had to bail out due to scheduling conflicts).  While Pratt was very good in a supporting role in this year's Moneyball, this role is definitely going a long way in stretching his acting chops as he will been taking on the lead in a very big film with an Academy Award winning director behind the camera.

I'm anxious to see how this all turns out as it would be great to see Pratt hit the A-list (hey, look what happened to Jeremy Renner).

Trailer & Poster For Rock Of Ages

The 80's, oh how we love thee! The rock and roll musical "Rock of Ages" was a hit on Broadway and now is heading to cinema screens next summer. From the trailer via iTunes (courtesy of Coming Soon) I think it looks like a lot of fun and the music should be great...for those of us of a certain age. Tom Cruise looks like he will steal the show.

Christopher Nolan Talks Bane & Eight Years Later

Not that far away from The Dark Knight Rises and the closer we get, the more information filters out of the Safe House that is Christopher Nolan's mind. The LA Times had a chance to talk shop with the multi-dimensional director about the researching the character of Bane and about the long time period between The Dark Knight & The Dark Knight Rises. Between you and me, seems like there is a lot of potential to place another Batman film within that period of eight years.

Christopher Nolan On The Character Of Bane

"I didn't know him very well. David Goyer got me a bunch of stuff on him and we looked into him. I only knew him by name, I wasn't familiar with his back story. He's a very cool character. And getting an actor like Tom to take it on, you know you're going to get something very special. Tom is somebody who really knows how to put character into every gesture, every aspect of his physicality in the way that great actors can... With Bane, the physicality is the thing. With a good villain you need an archetype, you know, you need the extreme of some type of villainy. The Joker is obviously a particular archetype of diabolical, chaotic anarchy and has a devilish sense of humor. Bane, to me, is something we haven't dealt with in the films. We wanted to do something very different in this film. He's a primarily physical villain, he's a classic movie monster in a way — but with a terrific brain. I think he's a fascinating character. I think people are going to get a kick out of what we've done with him."

On The Dark Knight Rises Taking Place 8 Years After The Dark Knight

"It will make a lot more sense to people when they see the film," Nolan explains. "But it's not a great mystery — it's the jumping-off point for the film — but it's hard for me to articulate it. I think the mood at the beginning of the film will make a lot of sense. If I had to express it thematically, I think what we're saying is that for Batman and Commissioner Gordon, there's a big sacrifice, a big compromise, at the end of the 'The Dark Knight' and for that to mean something, that sacrifice has to work and Gotham has to get better in a sense. They have to achieve something for the ending of that film — and the feeling at the end of that film — to have validity. Their sacrifice has to have meaning and it takes time to establish that and to show that, and that’s the primary reason we did that. It's a time period that is not so far ahead that we would have to do crazy makeup or anything — which I think would be distracting — but it gave them something to get their teeth into, particularly Christian in terms of [portraying] this guy who has been frozen in this moment in time with nowhere to go. He really has done an incredible job figuring out how to characterize that and express that."

New Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance Poster

It's still hard to believe there is going to be a sequel to Ghost Rider but there is and Comingsoon.net have the new poster.

Nice Cage returns for this sequel directed by the creators/directors of the Crank movies....thrilling. The poster itself is pretty standard fare but should catch the eye due to it's vibrancy, whether that will translate to ticket sales is anyone's guess.

In the successor to the worldwide hit Ghost Rider, Johnny - still struggling with his curse as the devil's bounty hunter - is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy (Fergus Riordan) from the devil (Hinds). At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy - and possibly rid himself of his curse forever.

Arkham City Expands Again

Arkham City is a game that is such a fun adventure on it's own. The downloadable content Rocksteady keeps releasing only furthers the longevity of this wonderful take on Batman. With Catwoman being playable in the main story as well as the challenge maps, and Nightwing and Robin with their own skill sets and unique gadgets there seems to be no end to what you can do.

Last month the studio revealed yet another expansion pack to keep the game going strong; the Batcave. From a few images released, the Batmobile, Bat-Computers, and even the giant model of a T-rex can be seen. No word on the giant penny yet though. Very little information has been released so far, other than the Tyger guards have infiltrated the Batcave which will lead Batman to take out these unwanted intruders through various challenges and allow you to grab your high score with punches and kicks.

Two other challenge maps will be available as a combo pack,Joker's Carnival and the Iceberg Lounge both of which were first released as pre-order content only. This will be a pretty extensive add on, but with no new characters added I am guessing the price should be around $5.99, which is well worth it. Look for the Batcave expansion pack on December 20th!

Gotham City Impostors Trailer

Gotham City Impostors allows players to customize their own unique vigilante in the style of Batman or Joker and take on the open streets of Gotham. The game is a multiplayer, first person shooter that is download-only through Xbox Live, Playstation Network, and Microsoft Windows. This is obviously based around David Hine's recent run on Detective Comics and the 4 part story Batman: Impostors. I wasn't too impressed with that particular story, but so far the game looks very promising and a lot of fun. It's release date is set for January 10th, 2012.

Check out Gothamcityimpostors.com to for a chance to play the beta of this game.
