Twins 2 Coming - Game Over, Internet!

Were it not for the date of publication we'd scruff this off as an April Fools gag. Alas the time-stamp on Heat Vision's scoop says March 29th at 6:05 PM. This is real, kiddos, and knowing the studio in question, Universal, a sign of their dire need for hits. They dropped Oblivion from July for a 3D Jurassic Park reissue after all.

Twins is getting a sequel. You remember the 1988 comedy where Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger were fraternal twins. It's funny because they look nothing alike! Cue laughter!

Well hold on to your hats. Because this time it called, drum roll, Triplets and DeVito and Arnie find out, gasp, they have another brother. Played by Eddie Murphy. You see, it's funny because Murphy is black, DeVito is a midget and Schwarzenegger is the Terminator! Isn't that wacky?!?

We're one step closer to Beverly Hills Robo Canine Cop & A Half 2, people.

"Wrath Of The Titans" Review: The Gods Must Be Crazy With Action

The action heavy Summer movie season doesn't "officially" kick off until May according to a rule of thumb of unknown origin, but somebody forgot to inform the inhabitants of Mount Olympus and the surrounding areas. Wrath Of The Titans is a pleasing onslaught of visuals featuring the dominance of the gods and the ferocity of the titans as they battle for supremacy alongside their human audience in well constructed 3D. The "powers that be" must have taken notes of the post-conversion inspired complaints from the 2010's Clash Of The Titans because the sequel is head and shoulders above the original in the 3D department and the CGI is surprisingly crisp, and dare I say near flawless.

Wrath takes place some years after Clash in a world that has stopped praying to the gods which has in turn slowly started depleting their powers. Without their powers Zeus (Liam Neeson), Hades (Ralph Fiennes), and Poseidon (Danny Huston), are struggling to keep their father Kronos subdued in the underworld. Perseus (Sam Worthington) is once again thrust into the role of savior as he attempts to balance his life as a hero with fatherhood. His brother Ares (Edgar Ramirez) provides a full dose of sibling rivalry but with the help of Andromeda (Rosamund Pike) and Agenor (Toby Kebbel), Perseus takes to air, land, and see to save humanity.

Director Jonathan Liebesman jolts the audience in and out of action sequences using fiery explosions and mythical creatures that you can almost reach out and touch if not for the uneasy feeling you might not get your hand back. The action is so bold and personal that you find yourself imagining that you're on the journey with Perseus and company. The heroes encounter everything from a booby trapped forest inhabited by a family of giant Cyclops to a sweeping battlefield. While the film embraces it's action and latches onto it for dear life, the story gets lost somewhere in Minotaur's maze.

At a certain point the plot becomes forgettable in a sea of swords and fire breathing monstrosities. The eerie calm deliveries of Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes don't balance well with the subdued performance of Sam Worthington. Worthington certainly has solidified himself as an able bodied actioner although the general public still haven't allowed him to be a household name despite his solid resume of well known films. Edgar Ramirez is a hurricane of intensity on screen as Ares and Rosamund Pike steals a couple of the few scenes she is in. The humor is injected into the film by Toby Kebbell who seems to be channeling a less annoying version of Russell Brand.

Although I wish that writers Dan Mazeau & David Johnson put more focus on the mythology it's refreshing that the film doesn't take itself too seriously as evidenced when Hephaestus upon seeing Perseus remarks that he is of "Release The Kraken" fame. Wrath Of The Titans doesn't try to be any more than advertised, an action fueled spectacle satisfying all of your important senses. The film shouldn't need to apologize for it's faults, but if it did, it would do so with action.  One of the few films I would recommend as a must see on the big screen due to the vast improvement in 3D over the first one which will become a distant memory after seeing this installment.

New Bond Girl Featurettes

These are short but a nice little introduction to the two new Bond girls and the actresses who are playing them. Berenice Marlohe and Naomi Harris. The characters are a really good contrast with Marlohe's Severine being a classic Bond femme fatale, and Harris' Eve being a tough field agent.

People Like Us Trailer

The directorial debut of Alex Kurtzman has the feel of a Cameron Crowe movie and to me that's a good thing. Elizabeth Banks has an earthy charm that really adds to her prettiness and she has acting chops to boot, and Chris Pine to me is leading the pack of young male actors looking to take Tom Cruise's mantle as top box office draw. The film will make a nice change of pace amidst the action heavy summer schedule

From DreamWorks Pictures comes 'People Like Us,' a drama/comedy about family, inspired by true events, starring Chris Pine ('Star Trek') as Sam, a twenty-something, fast-talking salesman, whose latest deal collapses on the day he learns that his father has suddenly died. Against his wishes, Sam is called home, where he must put his father's estate in order and reconnect with his estranged family. In the course of fulfilling his father's last wishes, Sam uncovers a startling secret that turns his entire world upside down: He has a 30-year-old sister Frankie whom he never knew about (Elizabeth Banks). As their relationship develops, Sam is forced to rethink everything he thought he knew about this family--and re-examine his own life choices in the process

Anchorman 2 - Need I Say More?

Anchorman 2 is a thing of "What if...?" movie-lure no more.

This evening Will Ferrell appeared on Conan! in character as Ron Burgundy announcing to the Americas, Spain, Turkey and the UK (including England!) the sequel is officially happening.

Writer/director Adam McKay, producer Judd Apatow and fellow San Diego Action 4 News Team members Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner will, thankfully, also return. Hopefully Christina Applegate follows suit. Impossible not to get excited even with trepidation of following up one of the funniest, and quotable, comedies of the last twenty years.

Nine "Dark Shadows" Character Posters

In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet—or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Brouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive.

Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles.

Also residing in the manor is Elizabeth's ne'er-do-well brother, Roger Collins (Jonny Lee Miller); her rebellious teenage daughter Carolyn Stoddard (Chloe Moretz); and Roger's precocious 10-year-old son, David Collins (Gulliver McGrath). The mystery extends beyond the family, to caretaker Willie Loomis, played by Jackie Earle Haley, and David's new nanny, Victoria Winters, played by Bella Heathcote.

Rise Of The Guardians Trailer

Much like Snow White & The Huntsman is offering a different take on that classic fairytale, this movie is offering a new take of mythical characters that are part of the fabric of most childhoods.

Santa Claus leads his own version of The Avengers including The Easter Bunny and The Tooth Fairy, against the evil spirit known as Pitch who wants to take over the world and destroy the imagination and dreams of children everywhere!
